Death Note review
[ S P O I L E R W A R N I N G ] Death note is a story about light, a geneus student who finds the death note on the ground and decides to test it out; on finding out that it does indeed work he begins his iradication of all criminals and falls face first into the downward spiral of insanity. STORY The story is extremely good and gripping, as all dedtective novels should be. I enjoyed it so much that I skipped many hours of sleep to finish it in two days. But the second part after L death is weaker but Light’s death scene is very good ( I cried ) 9 ART Personally I liked the art as it had a nice feel but it was not amazing but there were no errors that I remember and it was verry clean. 8 CHARACTERS For the first half the characters were verry good and had clear motivations and this is constant throughout the manga but something happens after L’s death the new detective characters, Mello and Near are not as likeable and you start to root for light, which is not nessiseraly bad as it makes his death all the more impactful but still they could be better as there is not much development in any character. 7 ENJOYMENT The quirkyness of the characters and the gripping story make for a verry enjoyable manga. 9 CONCLUSION I recommend the manga over the anime as the art style is much cleaner I definitely recommend this as it is a classic stlill relive the today and is quite deep and makes you think about stuff my three brain cells would not give a shit about like: is it right to kill a criminal, how far should one go to cach one and is Mello a boy or a girl OVERALL 9/10

Death Note review
I began reading this series, thanks to a friend, when it was still being translated. As soon as I picked it up I couldn't put it down! I spent an entire week going to the book store after a day at college just to read another volume!
I was pretty broke back then and couldn't afford to buy the series, but even after I'd finished it I was surprised and stoked when a 13th appeared! By then, I'd bought the whole series and I had to have it too (even if it's not a story volume) and I was pleased as punch to discover L's true name! (sorry, no spoilers here) I've read and re-read this series countless times and it is still one I wouldn't mind being caught reading!

Death Note review
I don't think I'm being original when saying Death Note is one of the few original stories to have ever come out of Japan. However, that I would say this, along with the rest of the world, only goes to prove that the world agrees with this opinion; declaring Death Note to be both brilliant and original. Though what is most curious is Death Note's strong theme of justice that has been portrayed in a way that will make you question yourself and your own sense of justice as your head and heart are torn between the ideals of the severe Kira and the
righteous L as it poses the question –
– is murdering criminal’s justice...or murder? Story [10/10] The concept of playing god has been toyed with countless times in countless formats though never has it been so well done or to such a high intellectual standard as it has been with Death Note. The story of a teenage prodigy who comes across a great power that allows him to toy with life itself and of those who oppose him as he attempts to cleanse the world of all hate and all its criminals; it seems like a fair enough summary though what you need to hear is not this. There are two factors that prove the most intriguing in this manga: First: The intellectual drama is amazing, the thought and thorough planning that goes into every act is indescribably intimidating and can only be compared to a game of chess between two of the greatest minds in the world. However, despite the intellectual drama it does not bore you. The manga doesn't play with intellect in a way that it grows dull and flies straight over the readers head, instead it's the bulk paragraphs of information that keeps you entertained instead, greatly overpowering what would otherwise be mindless slaughter (which I would have still enjoyed), it is the intelligence that gives the usually mindless act of murder a second chance at redemption. Second: Redemption was the word I used; redemption of a usually condemnably heinous act: murder. But is it really murder if you are taking the lives of those who have committed crimes so much more heinous? Is it really murder if there are people who will suffer throughout their lives if these criminals are not killed? Would it make you just as bad a person if you took the life of someone who had done the same? This is the crux of Death Note; it takes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to confront your own beliefs. Who will you side with? Will it be Kira or L? To this day I am not completely resigned to just one. It is this that you will remember most of the story, even if you don't realise it. Art [10/10] I am feeling rather silly, handing out so many perfect scores though am comforted by the fact that the manga is deserving of such praise. The art was perfect, syncing with the themes and the story just how you would hope it to. The art was severe and realistic; it steered away from the large haired, big eyed style, opting for a more realistic approach. Why? There is a simple reason for this – – the more realistic, the easier to imagine it really happening. The style choice wasn't designed for comic relief or for romantic scenes or even as the Mangaka’s personal style, it was specifically designed to let you see how real and severe the situation truly was, how easily relatable their world and our own are. It was sending a message of "what if". It was designed to frighten us. Character (9/10) Why not a perfect score? Well, I will be a little selfish here so that I might comment on something: The men in the manga were legends, powerful and nigh invincible creatures that you could only sit in awe as you witnessed their brilliance. Though what of the women? The women in Death Note were portrayed as idiots or weaklings, even the strongest of them where either designed to not be taken seriously or killed mere chapters into the manga if they showed any signs of intelligence. However, I would hardly say that it would take an entire 1/10th off of the score, if I could I would make it a 9.99/10, but I needed an opening to explain the women’s side of things. Now, women aside, the main characters and even the supporting characters showed remarkable story and character development and their responses were so well thought out and flowed so well in conversation. A personal example is after completing the manga I went back to the beginning and was thoroughly shocked, the Light from the first chapter and the one from the last were completely different and, uncannily, I had barely noticed his transformation at all. This shows how smoothly his development as a character was underwent and how well thought out he had been since the very beginning. Enjoyment (10/10) There was never a moment I was bored or even slightly disinterested, I'm actually glad I read this manga after it had completed publishing else I would have been driven mad had I been left to fend for myself for weeks at a time, my suspense and curiosity slowly killing me from the inside. Overall, I don't think it's possible to not enjoy this manga.

Cash Boy review
If your parents die and leave you a lot of money. What do you do? Pay some girls for a fun time, obviously. Well, that's what this protagonist does...
Story: To be honest, I thought it was gonna be a "guilty romance" about step-siblings. Two adults got married, a teenage boy and girl became siblings. The parents sadly passed away. Thus leading to the two "siblings" living together, alone. Seriously, how can it NOT be about some borderline incest? Instead the story took a surprisingly more realistic turn and became really boring. 8,8 million dollars in insurance money. So the 17 year old girl buys everything she could think off, that's probably what I'd do too. Haha... The 18 year old boy pays women money and hopes that it will get him laid, he never gets lucky though. Is this story good? Hell no. It is fairly "entertaining" to see the teenagers throw away their money, thinking that they are rich, when in fact their money was barely enough for a middle class life. Characters: The 17 year old girl is a slut. Seriously, she is. She complains when a guy she's dated for a week still hasn't done the nasty. She tells her brother to spend $10,000 on a gift just to make a girl notice him... The 18 year old boy, is a virgin with money. That should be enough an explanation to understand him. He can't even sleep with a prostitute the right way. He settles for a hand, since "it's not my own hand this time". LOL!!! LOL, I SAY! Overall. This story is bad. The main characters are so flawed it's not even possible to like them. And the gender discrimination is absolutely ridiculous. "All girls are gold diggers, and all males want meaningless sex". That's the thing I learned after reading this manga. And though it has nothing to do with the manga itself, the english !Official Legal Translation! it still had the Japanese (Kanji?) in it. Which was annoying. I'm sure it's annoying to erase and re-draw to get it out cleanly, but come on. So, the lesson here is, if your parents die and you get a few million dollars, don't use any of it until you're an adult... If you read this manga. LOL. "Laugh Out Loud". Because it's just sad if you don't laugh.

Portus review
I have a very boring experience from reading Portus.
As mentioned in another review, the story seems overly complex because the author mixed too many themes and plots together. I think the narrative appears elaborated but it's actually a very simplistic story. In other words : it's artificially complex. Some events are completely forced to try to shock the reader but oh dear it's not shocking at all, when it happens you just wonder why suddenly the characters act like that. Drawings are bad. Very bad. If you have a few notions of drawing, or at least used to look at good art, you'll see that anatomy is never accurate. perspective is lacking. Even the shots that are supposed to be scary, you laugh at it (in a bad way). Typical example, the author tried to draw "realistic" close ups of the faces when characters are supposed to be scared, or horrified by something... But it's a total fail and they just look like Memes trolls' faces... Speaking of the characters, most of 'em aren't introduced properly. They're all very flat and artificial. I haven't got any empathy for any of them. So Overall, and about the enjoyment, well, this is all going very low. I think, if you never heard of "The ring" and that is your first horror story ever, it might be a decent (like 5/10) manga to start with. But otherwise, really, I don't recommend it, it's pathetic. If you're a horror fan, you'll be disappointed.

Jinmen review
The art and overall character designs in this manga are pretty nice, but since story is, of course, a major part of storytelling, I have to rate the manga pretty low because of it.
The concept in and of itself is interesting and creepy, but the actual plot gets kind of boring. It's a typical survival story of characters think they're at least somewhat in the clear and then something terrible happens again. Every chapter begins with the characters thinking they're finally ahead SOMEHOW, even if just by a single step, or they come across some kind of resource or help and it's always inevitably ruined by the end of the chapter. It's repetitive and monotonous and it seems like each chapter is more of a showcase of how the characters get screwed over somehow and have to return to point one than a journey with two steps forward and one step back. Any survival story is going to have low points but if the characters always end up coming back to where they started, what's the point? It's like watching someone be really bad at a game and having to start at the tutorial stage again. It's easy to argue that maybe that despair or whatever is the point of manga like this, but I'd personally say a good horror manga as at least some highs amongst the lows, and said highs last more than a single chapter. That is to say, though, I don't necessarily not recommend it. It's still fun to look at and ultimately I do want to know how the characters get out of the situation they're in, just some of the chapters on the way can get kind of grueling to read through.

Ousama Game review
One day, the students of a high school class all recieve the same text message and suddenly get caught up in a dangerous game. Everyday, an order is issued, and if it is not obeyed within 24 hours, the student who was given said order will die.
Ousama Game could have been an average, but somewhat enjoyable, 'deadly game' manga among many others. It is, however, not the case, and shows perfectly how a story that starts in a mediocre way can end up being a catastrophe. Story: Ousama Game doesn't have a particularly impressive start. The first orders given by the Ousama mostly revolve around kissing or touching people of the opposite sex, which makes it hard to take the story seriously, even though people are actually dying because of it. But as silly as the story may seem, it still manages to catch the interest. Almost as soon as the manga starts, we are confronted to the mysteries of the Ousama Game. Who is behind it? Why is it happening? How? Considering the fact that the story is not really interesting at that point, it is probably the desire to see those questions answered that keeps us reading. However, as the story starts becoming more serious, it feels like we are only getting farther from the answers to the mystery. And this is where a scenario that was already unsteady completely falls apart. The revelations, as well as the final plot twist, make absolutely no sense, especially when taking into consideration all the things that happened previously in the story. In conclusion, after finishing reading Ousama Game, you are left with a feeling of incomprehension, as you wonder whether the author actually thought about his story before writing it. Characters: This manga does have a large cast of characters if we include all the students of the class. Of course, some of them are never really developped, but those who are are mostly uninteresting or annoying. This seond category of characters seems to be divided into two sub-categories: the 'nice' characters and the 'bad' characters. There isn't really much room for normal people, in fact, the characters being either selfless people who are ready to die for their friends anytime, or selfish and cruel people who would probably let everyone die if it could allow them to survive. In other words, no one is really likable, and most characters have motivations that are either not explained or simply not understandable. Art: The art is mostly average, with some inconsistency in its quality. While it is sometimes quite good, it often seems to become a bit messy in certain parts, especially when the characters have more intense facial expressions. Enjoyment: The story wasn't particularly enjoyable from the start, and if it tried to become more interesting towards the middle, it was to eventually end up falling into the abyss of stupidity and nonsense. As short as this manga may be, I would not recommend it, even if you enjoy this genre.

High-Risk Mission Therapy review
I never thought I would be writing up a review for a manga as weird as this one, but there's no harm in it, so why not?
High-Risk Mission Therapy is a weird manga. That doesn't go far to explain much, but it's a good start. And based on the description alone, you can gauge the kind of content that will be present here as well. But even then, there's more than what meets the eye. And I don't mean that it does it in a deep and profound way. This manga is, for all intents and purposes, an absolute comedy that in no way should be taken seriously. But, it also does a good job in standing outside of the mold of standard gag-comedy manga by doing the unexpected, and that is making fun of the tropes that tend to build such comedies. Of course, the "ecchi" fan-service prevails, but the series should certainly not be looked at from that perspective alone. The often unpredictable and random scenarios tend to lead onto hilarious outcomes that can make you smile or laugh out loud, but this will depend on the person reading. Another interesting aspect of the manga that I found was that, despite having such a raunchy backdrop for the story, the author doesn't sexualize everything the way you'd expect. Which is a good thing and can sometime separate this series from others which do it just for the heck of it. From what we've seen so far, the manga also seem to be aiming at parodying all kinds of tropes, including yaoi and yuri ones, which is a somewhat refreshing take on the genre. The story itself is something I won't really comment on, because it's not really commendable, but is decent enough to hold together the comedy scenarios that make it. Most of the main characters are fun to read and wholesome, which once again is something worth looking out for. With an interesting and decent art-style, this parody/gag manga is definitely something to lookout for, even if it is only for the whacky yet wholesome characters, unexpectedly hilarious scenarios and an overall fun time.
