One Piece review
Disclaimer: English is not my first language, therefore excuse me for any mistakes!

One Piece is the best piece of fiction I have ever experienced.
Starting watching and reading One Piece is the best decision of my entire life so far.
So, obviously, One Piece is my favourite manga and anime, my favourite series of all time. As a result, this review will be very subjective and full of good things to say.

Story: 10/10
The storytelling of Oda is a gift from the Gods. The way how something mentioned in a chapter will become relevant 300 or 500 chapters later is incredible! Every chapter and arc introduces a lot of new mysteries, every character has something to do with another, who you did not expect. The worldbuilding is fascinating, the world is in a perpetual expansion, every faction has its own motives, its own good guys and its own bad guys.
This story has adventure, action, comedy, drama and everything someone would want! When Oda wants you to cry, then you will cry. The flashbacks and backstories are heartbreaking. The level of foreshadowing that is put in this manga is insane.

Art: 10/10
Even if at the beginning the art style seems a little simplistic, it becomes one of the best parts of the story. The visuals on a double spread page are breathtaking. The quantity of characters and the beauty of the backgrounds, the movement, everything is done perfectly! One of the best things about this manga is that every cover page has something to do with the actual story. Sometimes Oda will take cute and funny requests from the fans that he will draw in the cover page in a few chapters, then he will draw a cover story, showing what are other characters doing when they are not present in the actual arc. Oda is advancing the story with a few pages. Moreover, the colour spreads are fabulous! One of the coolest things is to see the Straw Hats chilling together with some animals or going into new adventures, flying or eating pizza.

Character: 10/10
Even if One Piece is a story-driven series, the characters are all well developed and their progression and evolution are on point. The members of the Straw Hat crew will keep their basic personality traits, quirks and running gags, but they will each grow as an individual and learn during their journey together. When we meet a new character, we are all waiting to see their backstory, what motivates them to do what they are doing, their reasons to act as they do. Seeing them grow as a family is a precious thing to me. One Piece can become dark at some points, especially in the flashbacks to show us how cruel the world is, how corrupt the government is and how everything it affects the characters and the story. The world is moving alongside the characters and at the same time completely separate from them.

Enjoyment: 10/10
Of course, it is my favourite series. I will continue reading and watching it until the end and every week I am so hyped for a new chapter.

Overall: 10/10
I recommend One Piece to everyone. If you like complex shounen manga, with pure gold comedy, beautifully written characters, lots of adventures every new arc, cool and meaningful fights, worldbuilding from the hands of gods, storytelling never seen before and heartbreaking drama, then One Piece is for you without a doubt.
Read the first 100 chapters or go watch the special Episode of East Blue. If the story does not appeal to you, then One Piece is not for you. I guarantee you that once you start this journey, you will not stop and you will not regret it.

The manga can have slow pacing sometimes, which can be irritating, but I believe that One Piece is made to be binged. If you read 10-20 chapters a day, you will be able to truly experience the greatness that is this series.

Jikkyou!! Izumi-kun no Koi Moyou review
Browsing through the different manga left under rocks, you can find hidden gems or reasons why something doesn't kick off like it should.
Jikkyou!! Izumi-kun no Koi Moyou, straight to the point, feels like an incomplete and unsatisfying slice-of-life romance manga. There are scenes that feel unreasonable to be had, overly extended in areas and lacking any length in others, and a poorly executed great premise. I really liked this at the start and it failed to deliver. Why?
((The above is completely spoiler free. From here, this review might contain light spoilers. If you would rather have an easily digestible reason why I would not recommend this to someone, a tl;dr will be at the very bottom.))

Story - 3: Izumi is our main character and has felt like a completely isolated person who lacks any ability of social skills or confidence when it comes to interaction. Atleast, he thinks so. His self-defeatist mentality keeps him from gaining any kind of friends in his school or participating overall in life entirely. It makes him feel like a background character. Background character. Please, keep in mind how important that aspect is because the rest of the story is about Izumi dealing with that criticism of himself and how he wants to handle it. The story of how someone grows to not feel like a background character.
So, most of the talking and perspective comes the very interesting mindset of Izumi as he comments and rants in his head of what life is like around him keeping the theme of being harsh on himself but an optimistic outlook on everything else. There is a group of friends near him and, because of the meddling of one girl, he is forced into a daily routine of talking to her and the rest of these people way more than he used to do. (Which was not at all.)
This, in itself, is a really cool concept. A self-narrating main character with a heavily flawed but detailed mindset makes for good writing. Early on, it was wonderful and there are handfuls of scenes that are completely unique and can't be achieved by other manga from this concept alone. So why a 4?
The story was wasted. The main issue of our main character always speaking to himself and seeming like a background character seems like the main obstacle of the manga. From how the chapters go till even how it ends, it doesn't really seem to change. Sure, he gets one special moment in the spotlight that boosts his self-confidence. However, it's like the entire story is working against trying to remedy this obstacle and not in a well-written way.

Izumi makes other friends but only has a single panel dedicated to even socializing with them which is little less of "hi" and "bye" almost making it seem like he has acquired acquaintances only. Even his regular friends are rarely shown to be interacted with. (Although the story would like to say this is not the case, even the main character questions this often.) For almost all sixteen chapters, it still seems like he is a background character with only a shred of hope to obtain his one goal: to capture the heart and confess to the girl he loves who brought him to be more sociable. In the end, the manga only leaves a feeling of empty hopefulness. Minor plot obstacles are ended by forgetting about them and not really dealing with the issue, personal character growth barely seems self-rewarding, and the ending has our MC REJECT his personal desires and feed his sense of being a background character.
--((Spoiler/Please skip this line if you don't want this ruined for you: In the last chapter, Izumi wants to confess to his love but would rather support her own crush instead. This is a nice sentiment, but one that is seen for more than half the manga. It ends this way, with a "Maybe some positive things happen in the future?" cut to the Summer vacation between all their friends. It's disappointing, because it honestly feels like this was suppose to be a much longer series. This is where the purpose of our character who is suppose to GROW seem to recluse back into his style of life before. The unhealthy personality traits he had. It doesn't seem like support or doing what is right for him to become more. It seems like cowardice and giving up. It seems like a lack of finding new aspiration to keep getting better.
It seems depressing.))--

Even if it was cut short, there were plenty of ways they could've cut down on unnecessary details and focused way more on the ones left out. Even more, they could've stuck with a path which is a happy story of a man growing into a person who is less of a crippled introvert or a sad story where someone reverts back into his ways from his lack of determination. It seems they wanted to play it safe and take a middle ground while keeping the overall atmosphere of the manga 'happy' and leave a poor aftertaste of an interesting climax that you'd have to imagine. Wasted Potential. Very disappointing. Our boy, Izumi, starts as a background character, ends as one. Least we have hope. <Insert lobotomizing eyeroll emoji>

Art - 7: Art is clean cut for a slice-of-life. It doesn't often have the feeling of acid-washed pencil sketching and makes sure to make the characters (especially their eyes) show a lot of personality. It isn't amazing and the backgrounds don't especially stand out, but what it does right is done well.

Character - 5: This is a tricky one. You have an amazing main character with so much versatility and character. Someone with SO many flawed personality traits to be made likable. Maybe out of pity, but the pity is spared is mostly for his short, pessimistic moments. The main heroine is quickly shown to also have a variety of personality and design. Her crush has some, but not enough to care about his backstory or why he acts the way he does. The authors thought so as well as their answer to explaining his actions and reasons is with almost a single line.
Even if the explanation were true, he's mostly a plot point. Most feeling and thoughts are, in the biggest moments, conveyed through expressions and actions which is a really nice touch for such a wordy manga. It just is ruined with a completely unused cast of background characters that can't even get both well-written lines or EVEN ART detail. Even the main group of friends is barely focused on to the point I can't even recall their names or even when the manga literally mentions them. Which is sad when you are trying to write a story about the great feeling and importance of strong personal relationships with others.

Enjoyment - 8: You know, it was a unique idea and I was really excited at the start of it. Almost completely invested and hooked at the first diatribe of our main character's notes. Through the chapters, although aggravating to see them cut short or lack some closure/conclusion time and time again, I still REALLY liked seeing this concept (along with the concepts they were doing right) play out. If it actually had more work, this could've been really solid.

Overall - 4: I don't think anyone could read this start to finish and feel satisfied from the execution and conclusion story wise. I feel like people will really enjoy the concept and regret reading when they see it go nowhere and be so underused. I think a lot of people that love romance will not like how the romantic progression is nonexistent and possibly, canonically, does not happen. I don't think people will appreciate a character who is set up for a story to grow as a person barely scratch the surface and, technically, regress in certain aspects and only strengthen his self-deprecation.

tl;dr - It is really easy to read this and, at the end, think "Half done and poorly done". If others disliked it even more than my leniency, I wouldn't blame them. It is hardly rewarding in many aspects and is more a flowery roughdraft that seems exceptionally rushed. Yet, it seems like someone had a really good idea and wanted to do something. I don't know who, but I hope they learn from this and get to make what they actually wanted to. I understand the magazine was cut short and what they WANTED to do was not done, but that fact doesn't change what this "finished" product is.

Time Paradox Ghost Writer review
The fact that this series is being obviously rushed due to a bunch of butthurt Japanese Jump readers getting angry over the very concept that plagiarism is being seen from a much more complex perspective than any other manga would ever touch and that Jump is complicit in pushing this series to be canned as quickly as possible to prevent from some sort of huge backlash shows the very worst of the Jump system, where even if a work is one of the most refreshing, impactful, and instantly gripping ones we've seen in the magazine since The Promised Neverland started 4 years ago, if you write anything off the grid of what's accepted of traditional values, then you're silenced and debased by ravenous children and 2channers who'd be much more content with reading 60 more chapters of Black Clover sludge.

Our main character Sasaki makes a difficult and deliberated decision to copy the material of a Jump series ten years into the future. He recognizes how morally obtuse the mere concept is, by taking away the brilliance of the future in order to survive in the present. When the original author Aino finds out that some storyboards she made in her room were improved on and released by another author, she searches for him to become proper rivals with him.

The conflict eats Sasaki from the inside, forcing him to put in effort to live up to the manga's future run, and when certain events unfold, he is forced to take on the stead of the series in order to still bring to this world the pure brilliance of this genius manga, even if it's not his own, not because he wants the credit to own the series (as he even denies taking any of the profits of the manga himself), but because he sees how it affects those who read it. It is the truest expression of why we read manga; to give us comfort, to give us something to look forward to every week even when our lives are monotonous or lonely.

The entire manga makes it clear, multiple times, that Sasaki is not a selfish person, and even if he makes a mistake by plagiarizing the future work, he still puts in his 100% just to hopefully live up to the real thing. He struggles and forces himself to become better and to help Aino in any way he can, to sacrifice his own energy to make things right. And he does it for the same goal as the original author Aino, to make a manga that everybody can love, something perfect and beautiful and hard-hitting, and ultimately it seems to show that these desires can become carnal and unhealthy, like Icarus flying too close to the sun.

Manga has the potential to make you think, and although plenty of Jump readers have probably never had the experience of having to think very hard to consider the actions of Goku or Naruto or Luffy, Time Paradox Ghostwriter is provocative, quite possibly ahead of its time, and forces readers to postulate the actual harm of plagiarism and the difference between intent and action-- the whole thing is grey.

Please give it a read (the whole manga is bound to end up only 2 volumes long anyways), and don't let history forget about this series.

Love Maniac review
Love Maniac is an anthology of 4 shoujo romances, oneshots that veer away from typical love at first sight tropes and each story explores a different type of "Prince" who falls in love with the Protagonist over the duration of the richly woven plot.

The first story is seriously fun, with a witty heroine, the plot being realistic and very relatable, and high-larious dialogues in some panels, or maybe it's just the scanlators doing a bang up job. The heroine's selfish antics really do amuse over and over. And their expressions.... don't even get me started! How can you create that cornucopia of feelings on a black and white face! Great art. Must read.

The second story is interesting, it's a bit more trying that your normal fluff coz the guy's a tsundere without the dere part. And the girl's a glutton for punishment. It's not healthy, their relationship, at least to an outsider; but it's something that makes you wake up and take notice that in reality, you may keep hoping for a Prince to resurface from the person you place on a pedestal, but it may never completely happen for you. It's a skippable read, nothing too horrid about it, but the doki doki is just so so, and it's more shoujo or slice of life than romance through and through.

Third story is cute in itself, but I like how it thumbed its nose at shoujo manga stereotypes even further, which associate looks with personality types. Here a prince type character has a past that far rivals his current circumstance and a sweet megane shoujo who isn't too diffident to speak her mind and is moderately popular, outgoing and a genuinely nice person throughout. Aahh a breath of fresh air it was too! Their story was littered with reactions that surprised me and endeared the characters further in my mind along with generating sympathy for the progress of their relationship. Must read.

Fourth story is again a bit on the tame side, it shows possibly the opposite of the love-at-first-sight phenomenon. It's more mature and realistic perhaps, but nothing seriously engrossing. I only finished reading it coz I couldn't leave an unfinished story in the middle. Art in this one is OK, 4/10 maybe. Skippable.

PS Smut is mostly non existent in most of the stories, the mangaka just tapped on a bit in the last pages when she remembered "Oh this is supposed to be shelved in the smut category right?" First story has a bit of cute PG13 stuff, and the second an intimate scene or two, but nothing more.

Overall B: Read the first and third story and leave feeling refreshed to take on the world, hopefully leaving a couple of prejudices you previously held about girly bishounen or megane shoujos behind!

Fureru to Kikoeru review
"Please don't let anyone in this town bother me..."

This is the wish of Osanaga Satori who transfers to a new school and town, but her wish is very short lived as Sou Izumisawa sees Satori standing alone at a shrine in the middle of the rain and offers her an umbrella. Due to her strange supernatural ability, she wishes to avoid all contact from people as she tries to hide her appearance with thick clothing, large glasses, and a doctor's mask along with a polite and quiet demeanor. Satori has the ability to read people's minds by physically touching them, but if she falls in love with someone, they gain the ability as well.

I was incredibly shocked to see that this manga had no reviews, no added characters, and a very short synopsis. It's an excellent story, and it's hilarious as well.

Story: 9

I have never seen another manga/anime with a setting like this. Of course you have the certain cliques like someone new transferring in, and being a total weirdo. I have yet to see a supernatural ability similar to the ability Satori has, and a very simple way of having someone else with the ability as well. The only complaint that I have is that the romance within the story is a bit predictable in my eyes, and I can pretty much guess what will happen as the story progresses, but these days, modern romances are hard to write since you can't really put so much variation in it.

Art: 7

The art is very simple in my opinion, however I sometimes find it a bit difficult to read at some points because the main girl has a habit of escaping certain situations and the methods of escape make it a bit hard on my eyes, but maybe that's only me.

Character: 9

I absolutely adore Satori and her innocent personality. She is so adorable with her shy and sweet personality. She is very clumsy and reserved it just makes me want to squeeze her like a pillow(ignore my delusions).

On the other hand, the other main characters aren't really that impressive, the protagonist is a kind boy named Sou who plays basketball and becomes friends with Satori after meeting her at the shrine.

Then you have the childhood friend who also does basketball and could be a possible rival for Sou's affections, and then the clever friend who Sou plays basketball with on their team and seems to notice everything that the other two friends do. However, Satori's character really lends a hand in developing the other three characters.

Enjoyment: 9

I love this series, but sadly it's very slow to update, and it only recently started, back in December(2015). However, the current 5 chapters that are available will make you want to keep reading the story in the future.

Overall: 8

You would think that I would have given a higher score considering how much I was spouting that I loved the main girl and how unique this story is, but sadly there is only 5 chapters, so I didn't feel like giving the story that's available so far a 9 or 10 since there really isn't much to judge at this point. You could maybe make 4-5 24 minute episodes out of this so far, maybe less.

However, I encourage you to read what is there so far. You will love it.

Mitsu x Mitsu Drops review
I have never, ever dropped an anime or manga in my life. I hate leaving ANYTHING unfinished. It grinds my nerves and drives me insane. I've put some on hold, come back to others later, a variety of things, but never in my life have I dropped anything. Somehow, dropping this train wreck was a pretty idea that me going insane over unfinished manga.

Here's why: I read ten chapters. The first was terrible, but I thought I would hold out for a bit longer. I had watched the anime OVAs and was similarly appalled at the terrible excuse for an anime, but seeing others reference the manga, I somehow gave place to a seed of misplaced hope, deciding that the manga might be better anyways.

I was dead wrong.

First off, the story. It's confusing and makes no sense, and no character motivations make sense either. Nearly everything in this manga is illegal and considered sexual assault. If you have triggers towards sexual assault, PLEASE don't read this! I BEG you! It's for your own good. I have no problem with dark content, even if it contains rape (I in no way think it's okay, but I'm not one to shy away from dark subject material), but I had a problem with the way it's dealt here. Manga like Kuroshitsuji contains rape, and so does anime like Btooom!, but it's referenced as being lowly and terrible and illegal, while here it's passed off as something normal and just a minor inconvenience, which grates on my nerves more than I care to admit. In addition to this, the 'Honey system' doesn't make much sense and many holes regarding it are never clarified.

The art is pathetic. None of the body parts have any relationship with eachother. Everything is disproportionate, messy, ugly, and painful to look at. It makes me wonder what kind of blind person could've drawn things like this.

The character is horrible at best. Nobody has an ounce of character, and the few that have some inkling of a personality are the rapists. Enough said.

My enjoyment did not exist at all. As I flipped through every page, I kept thinking "what the actual fuck" continuously throughout ever panel. It was horrifying, scarring, and made me actually want to cry.

Overall, this is completely pathetic. I know some people may enjoy it because they claim to enjoy some 'rough smut', but let me say it straight: I am no stranger to smut, and I don't mind reading rough smut either. In fact, I will read almost any smut-- ALMOST. I don't want to read something that's clearly nonconsensual. If this had been a CONSENSUAL BDSM manga, then yes, most of the plots somewhat condonable, but 99% of this manga consists of dubious consent and the heroine not being able to bring herself to fight against it.

This is demeaning and I think it condones rape culture as a whole.

I would recommend this if: you somehow life reading about rape. I really don't recommend this at all.

I would NOT recommend this if: you want a plot, you want to look at pretty things, you are against nonconsenual sex, you want developed characters, you want to enjoy things, you want to have a happy life without thinking about this shit pile of garbage

If you guys are looking for smut, I would recommend looking into manga such as Hapi Mari. There is also a buttload of dojinshi out there just waiting to be read, so that's definetly an option. Whatever you do, please don't read this if you're sane.

If you're not, there's nothing I can do for you.

Am I being harsh? Perhaps.

Will I come back and read this fully? I'm praying that I'll be sane enough to never do it for my own good, but the unfinished manga might drive me insane to the point where I'll do it. If I ever do, then I suppose that I'll just add to this review and develop it to make it even more in depth about every single shortcoming and pitfall of this terrible, terrible trashpile.

Thanks for reading my review and choose manga wisely!

Have a great day!
