Comic?: Kaneko Atsushi Extra Works review
The different chapters of Tattoo Girl(s) were published in a magazine only released once a year between 2006 and 20015. 10 years separates them but none of them looks unpolished or unfinished, there's not any big gap in skills like you could expect as his style is already fully accomplished from the first story. These 10 chapters only make up a bare 60 pages but Atsushi Kaneko's narration is really efficient and certainly doesn't pale in front of his other works like Bambi or Deathco and each girl presented manages to be really well fleshed out in this ridiculously short timespan.

In terms of genre, they're each different and there's enough variations to showcase Kaneko's talents. Some are experimentations with psychedelism, some present the typical badass psycho girl that he likes to draw, some are more down to earth and see women questioning the meaning of their existence, some deal with the supernatural (vampires in that case), some play out like Memento where each of her tattoo is here to remember events of her life.
This main theme of tattoos is finely exploited and female representation is just as good, it isn't caricatural in the least, it's full of punk energy and a really good time to read.

Fuck Forever is a regular lenth one-shot about a thief discovering the unusual and strange life of the inhabitant of the seemingly normal household he's trying to rob. It's a fun short story as well that questions apparences which are often just a front for wicked desires.

SCHOOL DAYS review
The first thing I can say is that the manga did better than the anime...for a few reasons. The manga presented Makoto with trying to do the right thing while the anime made him into a major twat. The girls all remain stupid while Kotonoha was as innocent yet bat crazy as could be. Sekai was still no better.

Story plot/ character development: The story in compare and contrast to its anime counterpart.....still made me want to flip chairs and tables. The fact that only this time it was all Sekai's seducing's fault and the misunderstandings of the side friends. Although Makoto did try to see reason- unlike in the anime version. In fact I'm surprised he even made a cut- clear decision in the end and blames himself. The other major improvement from the anime- the little sister- she was like the small voice of innocent reason to all the characters who came in to bring Makoto back to his promise. Sekai was over all the worse- she is in my opinion a hypocrite that ruined people's lives all because of her own selfishness...but since she decided to play matchmaker- she has no one to blame but herself. There were no direct teacher or parent interactions or interference so it does strike the question of how things could get this far while they are all still under their parents' roofs. The enitre plot of the manga goes in the way of the visual novel- with the ending just one of the many and one that the anime is a reverse to.

Art: It was ok- despite my dislike of the series I have to give points for giving the creepy edge but still remaining again cute and innocent to draw in potential readers.

Overall: This is a psychological and slice of life drama of a manga. It does present the real life aspect of what would happen if someone took the way of the characters, which sadly many people do- the only difference is, the manga shows the reader what can happen in real life even if we don't think it will. The ending does not give or take away- while showing us it is a true tragedy it does not explain how the rest of the characters will go on and over all what will happen to them. While I enjoyed it better than the anime (besides the very end) I would recommend the visual novel first, then this manga. But only recommend it to those who can handle stressed situations, cheaters of the lowest kind, and are willing to stick it out to the very end.

Could have been the definitive ecchi shounen, too bad it ended prematurely.

You don't have to look far to spot how many in the forums are complaining about the premature ending. Where I would like to provide my alternative view is in the parts that are understated about this manga.

First off, I disagree with Master_M2K when he says:

"What makes the story interesting isn’t really the predictable romance but the exciting fights and hilarious comedy."

The key word that alienated me from his review was: predictable romance; exciting fights. Worse: hilarious comedy

Obviously different people have different tastes but if you merely come in here expecting an ecchi, you'd probably like it but you'll miss out on a lot of the subtle factors that could have made this the Ranma 1/2 of this generation.

First off, the setting. Ring Girl knocking out Street Champ is no typical setting and I avoided all the spoilers after that. Like Rumiko Takahashi's famous manga, this is the type of setting that makes the guy getting beaten up by a girl in a comical manner tolerable: it's all within the rule settings of shounen but transferred unto the female to male interaction.

The fights? They are typical. Maybe exciting to some but like Jackie Chan movies - they're part of a newer style that makes the older ones seem better. It's even worse when the comedy bits come to play. That's when the events are really rushed out and it goes into a more "one shot" type of shounen style.

What makes the combat work though is not only due to the romance but the added elements that are still underrated in combat. Specifically a shounen take on "move prediction" and (finally!) an exciting take on mixed martial arts that contains the heart of a sports manga minus the technicalities - an issue that normally would take away from other sports mangas but in this case allows the situation to explain the complexity of mixed martial arts.

Finally the ending. The ending is a deal breaker, no question about that. It's short and abrupt too. That said if you understand why the manga ending of Hikaru no Go is conclusive enough then the ending shouldn't make you feel like you shouldn't have picked up this manga at all.

For those who haven't read Hikaru No Go, what I mean is that the ending could easily be interpreted as creating a down to earth realistic conclusion of how far the character could actually achieve despite his skills. Clearly most shounen fans would have preferred such endings to be done in the same veins as Ashita no Joe's ending and I doubt you'll hear many who would say they'd rather the manga end this way - however - if you really analyze the situation the characters were in, it's still no mythology breaker.

The characters, considering their skill level and motivation and growth, all could have realistically failed in their universe right after the ending and the manga instead is a culmination of that short golden year.

As of this writing, hardcore MMA fans may get their share of contextual love from this manga too. Currently not only has the Machida Karate Fighter Lyoto Machida proven that karate can excel in MMA if certain Karate values were heeded but he has also been beaten by Shogun Rua in such a manner that many feel Shogun didn't beat Machida because of a gameplan but because Shogun had a "Shogun Rua" gameplan. If you've read both this manga and know who Shogun Rua is, this will make sense.

Not only that, things may change again if Quinton Rampage Jackson beats Lyoto Machida this upcoming UFC 123 and vice versa. Although the skin color of the main antagonist isn't dark like Rampage, the gameplan and mindset he's going to employ would seem similar to what the main antagonist had to have taken. Equally one could say the main protagonist's actions although it caused him to be accepted in being trained by an elite mentor could just as easily stand for an analogical metaphorical loss in which in our reality or in an official combat reality be interpreted as a fighter losing but getting to fight again because of how he fought and how he is employed in a contract.

Nonetheless, I do hope this review convinces you that this manga is worth a check for almost everyone except those offended by how ecchi manga degrades women. Not only does this manga go only as far as panty shots and accidental groping but it is still one of the freshest manga entries in quite a while or at least it could have been if it were continued. There really is no excuse to not check this manga out. I can't guarantee everyone will think it's a 9 but certainly whether you analyze it deeply or see it only for the ecchi scenes there's a quality to this manga that hasn't been done often in a single package in quite a while. The manga world really suffered a loss when this series was discontinued.

Ragnarok review
Sorry for my english, first of all.
Summe up:
The story was Initial called Ragnarok, but suffer an alteration to "Sword of the Dark Ones". If you are looking for a nice battle manga with a very decent and short background story, and some body exposure, blood, love , revange, hate, you will have it.

Story: 8
Leroy is the main character, this world takes place in a world dominated by "Dark Ones". These monsters devour anything within their pass, and are incredibly strong. Leroy's exemplar type of mercenary, that catch's attention of some sort of underworld guild and plus, a strange girl called Lena shows up offering him a peculiar job related to that guild and so that's how the story starts to develop.
The story might seem simple at first, but as more in to it as you keep advancing. It's a very short series, I read it online, latter on I felt the urge to buy it due the its awesomeness.

Art: 9
A very refined art, for the time it was made. Details can be a strong point of this manga, along with some textures and a nice work with black inking tone(s). Characters are well appealing, and mysterious as you get to know their past and experiences.

Characters 8
Honestly, I like them all, specially the small girl. Things are not what they seem like at first. But if I tell you examples here, I would be ruin the fun of it!
But you can trust me, its very impressive, even for a sword who can talk and materialize.

Enjoyment / Overall: 9 or 10
I vibe a lot with how simple and fast story like this could leave such satisfaction and hunger for more. Every chapter gets more and more interesting, and the fact you can see things "uncensored" makes it even more of an enjoyment!
Specially I enjoyed a lot every chapter, page, tones... everything!

PS: I would love to see an anime OVA of this series someday.

Hanazono-san Chi no Futago-chan review
To preface the manga this is really nothing new at all.It uses a multitude of cliches without really making too many attempts at being original and I will be the first to admit that. While I do say that the manga does not take many risks it works for me.

Story-7/10
The story is baseline common. There's this guy who was two childhood friends. One being an Idol while the other is a Gal.He likes the younger Idol sister but has grown apart from the two.The girls like him back but hide this fact. It's a very common premise that has been used a multitude of times sure but it takes a unique take on the aforementioned premise. The writer utilizes the false relationship trope in a way very reminiscent of Nisekoi which is partially why I enjoy this manga so much. The story goes on with our self-insert mc going on a "date" with the younger sister that disguises her self as the older twin so that she doesn't cause a scandal. The two get found out by some of their classmates and their pictures get leaked among the class. This forces the older sister and the mc into a false relationship so that the younger sisters Idol career that she has built up for so long does not fall apart. We go through the common tropes of study sessions, peer pressure and so on so forth.Nothing spectacular but in my opinion the pacing is incredible. The mangaka has somehow jam packed so much content into single chapters that don't take too long to read but feel like an entire episode or two of an anime in its content.Often when a writer puts in that much content the pacing can feel a bit rushed but that wasn't the case here.We are led through these events in a unique pace that keeps you enthralled constantly waiting for what comes next.

Art-8/10
The art is not really something we have never seen before either but it is done well. The lines are clean and clear and the characters well drawn. The designs don't lean on prerequisites much, giving each character their own flair. The facial expressions are beautifully drawn and get their point across well enough. This is true for especially the sisters and can be seen in the many faces of the older sister who has for the first few chapters been given the spotlight. The backgrounds are not in most panels but are there when they need to be.

Characters-7/10
As the story has not progressed much it only having been a few chapters in there is not too much to go off of.The two sisters are very unique and set apart from the crowd. The older sister has had feelings for the mc since he was a child due to reasons that I shall not highlight as they may be considered major spoilers in a sense. We know that the younger Idol also likes the brother but the reason for doing so has not been revealed. The reason behind the mc's crush still hasn;t been revealed but I have high hopes so far.The characters are like able and work well together. While the fake couple carries a bundle of awkwardness around with them it feels very natural in terms of execution.

Enjoyment-9/10
The manga up to this point has been very enjoyable. The jokes funny and the awkward chemistry between the characters very endearing. The story was average but extremely well paced keeping hooked from the beginning. There has not been a moment so far that has felt dull to me.

Overall-8/10
This manga may be a bit of a guilty pleasure read due to its.....well stark similarity to series such as Nisekoi and 5toubun.While I can understand remarks calling it unoriginal i do still believe this warrants itself a read as a feel-good read at the very least. In the absolute minimum the character interactions, art and pacing will not disappoint.

Digital Devil Story review
Review for the 1st Book of this.

Atlus based their Shin Megami Tensei series on this book, at least the first book was an adaptation of sorts. I’ve always been curious what birthed Atlus into being what they are, since I will not play that game because a) no IOS or Android device and b) I’m not going to emulate uber old games.

I’m not sure if Atlus followed everything 100%, I read the fan-translation, available on the blog of the guy, that got transformed into an epub. I found it in epub, loaded my Sony PocketReader, and there I went into the waves of 80‘s story.

I’d read the comment of the translator, of the fact it was very much a sub-par story, for beer and pretzels. I found it was wayyyy above that, it has potential and it isn’t scared of shocking and fucking with your ideas.

I was particularly smitten with the fact the main character goes from innocent, to evil, to repented. It was glorious seeing the bullied turn into the bully, that fucks up in the end and has a mess to clean up afterwards that may just cost his life and the ones he’s fond of. I have no clue if Atlus actually even put any of the ‘demon mindrapeing’ going on, or even the cannibalism. If they did, then they are my champions~<3

But, I doubt it. Considering how old the game is, and the mentalities of then and even of now, I’m positive some stuff was sugar-coated, painted nicely. After all, Aya Nishitani brook no punches in describing the demons, the deaths, the blood, the biting of a female student to the death…It was lovely~

I quite like when stories are not afraid, and just simply are, I think they have a charm that ‘politically’ correct stories can never hope to achieve, or maybe I’m biased ’cause I like blood, guts and swearing, lmao.

It was also a very nice perspective to the whole Izanami and Izanagi story, it wasn’t anything mindblowing plot wise, though I’m sure back then it was da shit, but it was definitely a really enjoyable book~

The only thing that makes me a sad puppy is the fact the 3rd book is not fan-translated, so I’m iffy about reading the 2nd book and it not having an ending and getting fucked up over it :C
