Solo Leveling review
This is my first webtoon/mangwha review so I don't know how to handle this in comparison to Anime I've watched so please don't be surprised if I'm lenient toward this. Firstly, I began reading this morning and I've already met the maximum available chapters (I'm kind of pissed it happened to fast). Let's get into why I became addicted to this mangwha/webtoon!

Note: There may be minor spoilers so skip if you are worried about being spoiled.

Story: This story approaches an MMORPG style universe set in modern day South Korea; We follow 'the weakest hunter' Sung, Jin-Woo who is notoriously known to be reluctant with his life as he enters dungeons to earn money for his mother's hospital treatment. One day, after entering an E ranked (weakest rank) dungeon with a party, Sung Jin-Woo finds himself in trouble after his party enter a double dungeon with overwhelmingly powerful monster statues and boss. Sung Jin-Woo experiences betrayal to the worst degree after more than 70% of his party are wiped out and expected to solve the riddles in order to overcome the boss and leave the dungeon. It is from this point where he sacrifices himself as the one responsible for losing most of his party and would be the last moment of his weakness as a surprising game-breaking UI element transforms him forever. If this isn't an interesting description, I have no hope you will enjoy this mangwha - This plot isn't necessarily new or transformative, in fact it seems very similar to shield hero. However, the execution of the plot is AMAZING!!! It seems extremely realistic yet doesn't at the same time that it is thrilling; this feeling of being excited for such content hasn't attracted me with anything I've read before. I may be a bit lenient because I became addicted with it and spent every spare moment of today reading it but the pacing of the plot as well as the events that occur were extremely satisfying it's super entertaining. I'm going to rate this 10/10, this may have just highhandedly made me interesting than watching for the first time in my 'weeb' career.

Art:
Compared to the many manga I've read (probably like 3-7 at this point) I'd say this manwha beats it right out of the get-go. The tendency to leave a lot of negative space makes it EXTREMELY easy to read panel per panel, paired with the fact you read as you swipe downward makes for an extremely seamless and satisfying reading experience. However, that is just the tip of the ice berg in terms of art - If I was being honest, the detailed and cleanly colored art style is what made me stick around for more, this is my first experience with south-korean comics but it was certainly amazing. The speech bubbles and similar are very large in size which allow the text inside to be readable and less distracting from the art as they are often offset away from the center of the panel. However, the fact that the panel styles get more complex and transformative won me over with this manwha, the illustrations manipulate designs such as gradients, panoramas, quick action sliced panels etc. to portray much more movement between scenes and character fights. Overall I'd say art is 10/10, easily one of the cleanest quality I've seen so far - the fact it improves around chapter 70 as MC gets more powerful makes for entertaining content.

Character:
Despite being such an amazing manwha and appearing to have no weaknesses, I feel overall character development is more or less the achille's heal of this manwha, since MC becomes overpowered within the first 10 chapters, there's very little space for him to improve as a character. I see they've tried to make him participate in different quick time pop up dungeons, daily excercise quests and the occasional involvement with other guilds and character quests but it did become fairly repetitive (not that I didn't enjoy it, I was rather excited to see these events go wrong and MC eventually unleashing his powers but it does remove quality character development) The fact that MC loses most of his emotion, and that he's aware of it around chapter 30-50 means that we can't really rely on him or other of his hunter-buddies to develop his character - instead, the challenges that he receives not only improves his strength but his intellect as a result and as such, he's much more observant and optimistic about others around him. I'd say overall in terms of character development this manwha lies on a 9/10; definitely an amazing experience seeing MC transform from an E ranked hunter to quite possible an SSSS rank hunter (because of his max level summons and ability to learn as he gains experience).

Enjoyment:
need I say more? this manwha is a masterpiece which is why i became so invested in it within a single day moreso, that I actually read 107 chapters (albeit, they are a bit shorter than manga or other longer webtoons) within a few sittings in a single day. Just a masterpiece.

Overall:
Despite it's weakness in character development, I feel 107 chapters is just the tip of the ice berg, I'm excited for what they do in the future chapters. Hopefully a formidable opponent can stand toe to toe with MC... Thanks for reading :)

High School Musical review
Soooooo... why is this a thing? No really, why is this a thing? Now to give you some context, I HATE Highschool Musical: Live Action. I was in the demographic that Disney was trying to cater too when it first came out but I was so oversaturated with it from friends and peers that I couldn’t even watch the first part of the show. I still hate it even now and all the milking Disney has done for this series. That said, I heard that it was only 10 pages long so I figured I was going to check it out and see if it was any better and how they made an hour and a half long live action into 10 pages… they didn’t.

The story is basically a gutted version of the actual live action, with only an introduction to the characters which feels extremely forced and bland. It follows token boy jock (I refuse to even put energy looking up their names) who just won his basketball game with his token friend and are celebrating. He sits with his token girlfriend (were they even boyfriend and girlfriend in the beginning of the show?) talking about collages. I am not going to lie, there is no musical and there is no theatre, so why the hell is this even called a High School Musical? They left out the Musical part and just gave us a very bland story of high school that went nowhere.

I do have to give the anime props to some extent; the artwork is actually very good. It’s definitely Shoujo style with a lot of bloom lighting, pretty boys and girls, a lot of details, and nice screen tones. The artist really pushed themselves to make it look really good even if the characters didn’t look like the live action versions. I understand some liberties had to be taken because it’s not colored, but the only dark skinned guy looked as white as everyone else. I feel like there could have been a screen tone or something that could have helped with the ONE image of him in the manga.

To be fair, the only reason why this is getting any sort of rating from me is because of the artwork as the story is bland, doesn’t have any of the basic points to the show, and just feels like a waste of time. That was like 5 minutes I will not get back. Even putting my opinion of the source material aside, I don’t think fans of the show would even like this manga.

Saiteihen no Otoko review
This is just bad and, after the first act set in the school, incredibly boring.

I wanted to enjoy this as it seemed like a weird, dark manga (which I do really enjoy), but God this is bad. And so boring.

MC is first presented as a unlikable character, which I can enjoy if done well, but that changes when we are supposed to feel bad for him in the final act, though I just didn't care because he was such a horrible person.

There was a lot of lazy writing or plots set up that could've been slightly interesting (for this manga) that were then given up on with a 'just kidding' or 'i lied'.
The BORING AS HELL final fight was even given up on with some characters just saying 'I'm done for today' and pissing off, which just made me feel the writer didn't care enough to finish the fight in a half decent way.

I also want to mention:
->His parents, and other characters', shit actions DO NOT excuse his shit actions.

(Spoilers for this paragraph?) There was a creepy romance with a dead girl which the MC obsesses over but by the end we're supposed to support this because the poor MC 'was never loved by his horrible parents'. NO. That's not how sympathy works- it's still a creepy romance no matter his parents relationship with him.

He didn't learn from what happened to Haruka in elementary school, which was a result of his actions, as he continues to obsess over her. Why are we supposed to feel bad for him? He is an awful person, and the author trying to make him more likeable at the end of the manga only adds to my dislike of the MC.

The MC develops these powers half way through which gave me a rip-off and dull version of Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul when he uses his ghoul powers.

This manga does nothing unique or truly disturbing. It's mostly full of cheap shocks that don't challenge the reader.

I just found myself feeling detached from all of the events in the plot and the "struggles" of the MC. By making him unlikable for the first half, I didn't care for him at all by the end and actually ended up disliking him even more when I was instead supposed to be feeling bad for him. The plot, while in the first act, was bearable, it felt very stretched out and convoluted in the second act and I just found myself caring less and less with every page. I eventually started skimming over each page, willing for the manga to just end already.

I think if it had ended after the first act, I would've rated this manga slightly higher (probably a 5). The second half is what really let it down.

In case you couldn't tell, I don't recommend this unless you want to cringe and/or rage at this story that might've had a tiny bit of potential to be, at least, fun, but ended up being drawn out and boring.

There are multiple series that acheive aspects of this manga far better:
- Supernatural Invasion and the affects of society- Parasyte
- Uncomfortable sexual situations, along with the pressure and shame surrounding it- Aku No Hana
- Inner struggle of becoming part of the monster you detest- Tokyo Ghoul
- And just well done, terrifying horror with chilling art to accompany it - anything by Junji Ito
I urge you to read/watch any of these rather than this

Basilis no Musume review
This wont be long , and dont read if u dont want spoilers , Its simply an advice not to read this

I dont mind love triangles , squares , whatever it is and I dont mind pulling my hair because of the situations that occur or tragedies or changes of the character's mind

[ Spoilers ahead ]

The thing is , The main character "Shuuka "is simply a slut , You can not enjoy a manga if the main character was unreasonable , ok am not against being with a different man in the manga all shoujos have those , but the way its brought in this manga totally ruined it , Like , Sorry again its a review but I must include this , As a warning , I wont say the end or names so u wont know , the main character flies from a man to another , sleeps with them all , ok we didnt reach the bad point yet , the bad point is that this happens every 3 chapters or so , and for no particular reason [ she slept with one of the love square because he brought her a nice table with food when she was tired ? ] totally unreasonable , dont be deceived by this manga , the story seems good and art is also good , but the 16 chapters were so fast and full with unreasonable acts , totally a waste of my time because I value a reasonable/logical events and conclusions , and totally hate too fast paced-lets finish it type , or maybe it wasnt the reason , just that the main character did too much unreasonable stuff .

In the end sorry again if u think those were spoilers , but they really weren't and you'll see what I mean from first chapters and simply dislike this manga , such a waste of time when u put high hopes for it , and again its my personal opinion , if u dont mind stupid moves and reasons and unexplained illogical events and conclusions , then by all means read it and enjoy it.
