Hatsukoi Double Edge review
A high school girl falls in love with an adult male, and then she more or less starts stalking him. Telling him over and over that they should be together. Is that romantic, or scary?

Story: Personally I really like this story early on. It's very immature and silly, but adorable. "I love you, even though we met a few seconds ago, let's be together". It's just so refreshingly simple. The problem is that it's a shoujo manga. So there is far too many dramatic back stories and flashbacks. The Man has crafted and sold a gitarr many years ago, and the female protagonist just so happens to be the current owner of that gitarr. "OMG god is telling them to be together!" Yeah, no. I think that if people in a romantic relationship need plot twists like that to be together, they are NOT meant to be.

But even with all these typical shoujo situations, this manga stays strong. The art is absolutely perfect for the silly girl, lots of funny faces without exaggerating too much. The humor is very chill, it doesn't makes me laugh, but I still enjoy it. And the characters are all very likable, much better than we are usually seeing for this genre. With "only" 8 volumes, this may very well be perfect since it probably won't be too dragged out.

As I don't usually like shoujo, I was surprised by how good this manga is. I can honestly say that the first volume is near goddamn perfect. (for being shoujo) Let's just hope the author doesn't throw in too many melodramatic plot twists along the way. So if you like romantic comedies, this manga is definitely worth a chance.

Kudan no Gotoshi review
Kudan no Gotoshi is the type of story that wants to instill shock and surprises on its readers, but it doesn't know what shock or surprise it wants to focus on.

During a late night drive, 7 college students end up hitting into a large cow. Upon further inspection, the cow had the face of a man, who foretold that they would all die within 7 days. With this mysterious curse, the characters are trying to find a way to prevent their deaths and to escape fate's hand.

That plot might sound slightly interesting, a bit repetitive, having been done in so many stories before. The difference with Kudan no Gotoshi though is that it can't stick to a plot for more then one chapter. The first book stays pretty consistent with it's story, but soon after it spreads into so many twist and turns, and they just make everything an incoherent mess. One moment the issue is all about surviving, then its about someone possibly being the cursed one, then you find out someone else is too, then you start seeing cow ghost, then other people become cursed, then there is now a country-destroying prophecy, then someone becomes psychic after sleeping with a guy, someone becomes pregnant and gives birth to a cow within 8 hours, and all of this happens within one or two books of each-other. Its just... every chapter they try something new and it doesn't add to the story at all, only takes away.

If that wasn't bad enough, just about all of the characters are very unlikable. You won't care about any of their deaths, everyone acts selfishly, and with the story jumping all over the place, it becomes hard to even remember what a character's "arc" really is. A lot of the side characters are very one-note as well; jealous childhood friend, protagonist who wants to save everyone, religious zealot, ect. You seen them in other comics, and you've seen them done better.

This was a series I seen a lot of people drop, and there is a reason for that. What starts off as a standard horror manga turned into a horrible mess of dried up ideas that fail to stick together. Instead of connecting things and keeping the plot leveled, every chapter is just a new turn with very little pay off. And with the bland characters who add nothing to the story either, Its just safe to skip this cow curse all together and to move on to another series instead.

Kamakiri Onna review
So this is a rather interesting manga but sadly the stories were just cut short. Each one did give you a small scar but in the end, none of them really stood out all that well. The horror was supposed to build up and in two or three they did but then seemed to lay flat during the middle of their story or made no sense even in horror logic. I guess the one I did like was the Koala is Watching because it did give me a small chill up my back (But then it fell flat again).

What I liked about the stories that they all seemed to be made up of Urban Legends, they had that same feeling that the story was just going to keep repeating over and over again. Some would live from the tale and would keep retelling the tale and others would die right on the spot. But in the end, since they were so short, I had to ask where the full build up was going to come from.

The artwork is so-so, not that great but also not bad either. Again, nothing really stood out as each had the same style of artwork.

And the characters are hard to pick out because they look so similar. Many times I thought that a character was from another story only to find that her name was supposed to be different. They were more like no named actors on a horror set just waiting to be killed off and even the main characters sadly were like that.

All in all, I liked it but it lacked a lot. I could think of many others that are better to read then this one if you want Horror. If you don't care, then go ahead and try it out for yourself.

Peridot review
Peridot is a very interesting manga, besides the fact that it isn't highly publicized. It is about the mysterious, Mahiru, who believes in not putting any more effort than needed into the things she does, or getting involved with anyone or anything that doesn't personally concern herself. Her viewpoints slowly change as she recollects her past while teaming up with two other (hot) high school girls; Akira and Kaede as they encounter scandals, and fight off bands of delinquents in and out of their school. The story line is split up into many different short stories, which follow the main characters as they journey through their lives trying to make them a little less boring and pass the time between classes (which they don't attend ^^). The stories also introduce all of the characters within the plot, while revealing a little bit more about the mysterious Mahiru and her past as the story moves along. Mahiru and her crew go through their glory days of high school fighting off pervy old men, wanna be gangsters, delinquents, and people who just can't seem to grasp the concept that they will never win. Mahiru's group tries desperately (excluding Mahiru..) to shape their dull lives into ones filled with excitement everyday. The story is filled with many intense and high quality fighting scenes, which can be seen as early as the first chapter when the main character, Mahiru beats a group delinquents senseless after they tried to rape Akira the previous night. Anyone who loves reading Seinens about girls duking it out in martial arts and beating each other up (with some ecchi of course ^^) should most certainly give this read a shot.

So the 16 year old Hidaka Mika constantly fails her intermediate exam so she can still see her 21 year old violin teacher each week and he's like a genius because since a traumatic experience at 5 years old he sees everything like a still shot in a film and remembers every event in his life. His playing music helps him to momentarily forget the replaying of his memories.ready to go to america if he passes a competition.

I love how the characters are drawn, it's different, the detail on everything, especially bodily proportions I greatly appreciated.
I liked the first chapter, obviously written as a one-shot and so I think the second chapter should be dismissed.

It had some funny moments and drama, the writing was well done I felt. I feel like the guy could have had more personality and it could be a really great series but somehow it just hit a dead end because of the lack of development on the male side I feel.

The third chapter short story is about a university student who planned on making a film with her close female friend and entering it in an annual film contest until her friend suddenly seemed to change and not care about the project anymore and then died shortly after. So the girl sees a website about someone able to connect with the dead, and she sets an appointment and meets ai chan whose kind of a psycho and it ended a bit too cheerily possibly but I loved it.

To you the story line might appear banal. It does have it's cliched moments but I just felt good after reading those 2 chapters and liked the main female characters. A+ biasedly, 6-8 realistically depending on what you like.

Glass no Megami review
Wow. Quite the borderline H manga we have here. We want sex, sex , and more sex when reading hentai manga. So what do I think of this manga here? Well its borderline H, so that puts a few limitations on our boners, but I also think this manga is actually kinda heart warming.

The story centers around the male protagonist, Sakura Keita. As far as academics go, he isnt the natural dumbass that most manga have their protagonist to be. Hes a science major, and he is actually serious about his work. So when one day, his report goes flying out the window, he freaks out until a hot girl manages to pick it up for him. Does it end there? No. Now he wants to return the favor. They both like each other, but due to certain circumstances, he is with some other girl now.

The story is basically him thinking " I want the other girl, but what do I feel about my girlfriend? I dont want to hurt her feelings, but I still like the other girl. Maybe I should forget about her. But then again, maybe not." It is an internal struggle for him to choose his lifelong partner. With lots of sex as verification to make him feel better.

The art is GREAT in my opinion. As if drawing hot chicks arent enough, we get to see them in action! That boosts up my art rating. 10/10

Sakura Keita is VERY indecisive. All the way up to the point where people will just get pissed off at him. Not even sympathize with him; the reader will get pissed off at him. Now does that mean I got pissed off at him? No. I felt bad for the guy. As if choosing his soul mate wasnt enough, there was some unknown force outside his world mocking him. That depressed me. Everyone else is fine; they do their part correctly. The problem lies with the man himself.

Did I enjoy this manga? Absolutely. Am I a pervert? I am very healthy. Do I recommend this manga to anyone? Anyone over the age of 15 is welcome to read.

Bashism review
Mod Note: This review was originally posted for "Hana", which was subsequently merged into "Bashism".

This story has got to be one of the most genuine romantic drama that I have ever read. Having less than 30 pages, it sure is commendable for being able to convey such strong emotions.

It was able to achieve this form of unity in each page, thus, makes it possible to create a huge impact by the end of the story. Each turn of page compliments the previous one— this very harmony is what I found extremely appealing in this one-shot. It did not go astray nor did it tried so hard to stay on track; it was such a smooth flow.

The characters are exceptional. The side characters were able to complement to the lighthearted aspect of the story. Their positive personality is what made our main character shine even more. As for the main character, he is a fine young adult. His personalities are—in my opinion— what actually build up the story or the very foundation of it. His extremely good qualities and/or positivity are certainly the one that I looked up to. Seeing him being baffled about the idea of death yet wholeheartedly accepts it, made me emotional. The unfairness of the story—having an extremely honest and good person bear the mark of death— really added to the overall emotional distress it gave the readers.

As for the romance, it is remarkable. It is actually a forbidden type— a school nurse and a student. There was an intimate scene but it is not to be taken as something so erotic; one can view it as pure love. The romance here is at its finest.

The art is nothing special. It was fairly good. With a great plot line such as this, the art can be easily overlooked.

All in all, it was definitely a great read; emotional, sweet and romantic. I didn’t gave it a 10 since I was dissatisfied with a few things such as, the lack of character background and the art. Considering that it was together with a few hilarious stories in Comic Cue, it really stood out among the rest. It was unbelievably nice and a must read.
