ReLIFE review

What a wonderful story. Even after weeks of completing it, I look for stories similar to reLife.

Overall, my main gripe about this series is this series belongs to rena and ohga as much as it belongs to kaizaki and hishiron. Not much development is given to others beyond the four (and the supervisors).

Second thing is, the ending is a cop out. The explanation given honestly doesn’t make a lot of sense, and a lot of mystery surrounding the reLife organisation is dispelled. Ending is extremely predictable such that people were guessing accurately halfway through the manga.

Even with the above points, this is one of the most immensely happy mangas. I ‘accidentally’ read the end when I was at chapter ~150 and I was ready to just drop the manga. But when I returned to my chapter I couldn’t stop reading. This is the addictiveness of the manga that caused me to finish the manga even during exams week.

In some ways, reLife is akin to a shoujo manga. It has similar settings and tropes, but adds its own spin. Please don’t be daunted by the amount of chapters. It’s true that most events are drawn out, but the beginning chapters has little pages and you will not feel bored during the manga.

Lastly, I would like to draw attention to the structure. The manga was originally a webcomic (if I am not mistaken?) and is meant to be read in a vertical scrolling fashion. Whiteout scans has been translating this series from start to finish, has a manga reader on their website. So please try to enjoy this manga in its original form!

ReLife is worth it if you want a manga that’s long enough to get you invested, and rewards you with appropriate payoff.
