I really loved this manga. I've read it twice and both times it made me a bit teary. It's very touching..

Story: Earth discovers extraterrestrial beings called Tarsians, and from their findings they are able gain a huge advance in their technology. For the benefit of Earth, they go to war against the Tarsians and send out people to further explore the land of these aliens. People are chosen at random to take on this mission.. and sadly, Mikako is one of the selected few. When she leaves for the mission, she leaves her close friend, Noboru, behind. They try to keep in touch by text messaging, but as Mikako travels deeper into space.. the time between her and Noboru gets farther as well. This story is mainly about how the two friends cope with the growing distance.. Will they forget each other and move on? Or can they overcome it somehow and see each other again?

There is a lot of emotion in this story. You really get the feeling of their longing and how much they miss each other as they constantly reflect on the times they spent together. The story is also pretty philosophical as it reflects on issues on how people may view the world.. and how the characters find a bigger meaning to their lives as well.

This story is about a long distance relationship if you are interested in stories like that.. And it's pretty short so give it a try :) You might like it as much as I did.
