Spy x Family review

This is my first review, so I hope that it makes sense since English is not my native tongue and I’ll try my best to write more in the future. So let us start with the review now.

Story - 9/10
I remember reading this when it first came out, and it was one of the first spy manga I had ever read, and I'm happy that it was. As the story is enjoyable and funny, because you as the reader know their secrets, what they think, and you're always watching the tension as you're never sure if they're going to get exposed. The story is something creative that I’ve personally never seen before and the combination of a spy, hitman, and esper makes it even more interesting. The character’s personal stories are well-written and you’ll always be wondering what is going to happen next.

But since the manga has not been completed and therefore I can't make a whole judgment on the story, I will be giving the story a 9, but I'm sure it will end up as a 10.

Characters - 10/10
This part will heavily focus on the main characters.

Loid Folger or Twilight is an incredibly skilled spy that is skilled in every aspect of his job, and we see this various times. But personality-wise, he starts as a stern and cold character, wanting to do everything on his own and not bothering to have proper interactions with his family as he in his mind knows that he'll be leaving them when the mission is finished. But we see his personality change slowly as he realizes somethings about himself and others.

Yor Briar or Thorn Princess is a hitman that is skilled at everything in her occupation. She almost has a split personality as when she is doing her job, she is badass and mean-looking. But outside her work as a hitman, she is an introvert. Yor keeps to herself and wants to experience some romance because all of her co-workers are bullying her for being 27 and never having a man.

The Esper, Anya Folger, is a child at the age of 6 that can read people's minds, and she uses this to her advantage to find out what Loid is thinking because she doesn't want to get sent away again. Her personality is quite like a real child, questioning everything and wanting to discover new things to play with, but this can occasionally lead to some trouble.

We watch them develop emotionally and mentally as all of them had something missing in their life e.g. Loid's lack of attachment to people, Yor's lack of romance in her life and people as well, and Anya's lack of connection with her parents. But they end up hiding each other's weaknesses and covering them up with their strengths even though it is something brand-new to them. They start to feel like a real family even without blood relations.

Some of the side characters are fleshed out, some are not and are just there for the sake of it, but will have a purpose later on like a set-up and pay-off.

Art - 10/10
The art style is very aesthetic and clean looking. You know who everyone is since they all have distinctive features that make them who they are. Every page has something aesthetic to offer, and you're never bored when analyzing a frame or just going through them quickly.

Enjoyment - 10/10
I love this manga, and I'll be rereading it every chance that I get before it gets updated, as all the adorable are natural without something suddenly changing inside them without reason, but with something that makes sense. All the action-packed moments make it worth my time and they're drawn incredibly well. It is easily one of my favorite manga ever.

Overall - 9.75/10
Without a single doubt inside my mind, I recommend this heavily to anyone that likes to read manga since this is a perfect mix of wholesomeness and action. I will be rounding it up to a 10 out of 10 since mal doesn’t allow decimals. I’m also sure quite sure that an anime adaptation is most definitely going to happen sometime in the future and I hope that the anime adaption will be just as good as its source material.
