Beauty Pop review
I'm surprised that this comic isn't among the most popular ones. It's a beautiful storyline and makes me laugh, cry, scream, and worry.
It's about a girl named Kiri who is a very amazing hairstylist but she doesn't want to be in the beginning. She's far from being a Mary Sue because she has her flaws, which are a very limited emotional range, and if you ask Narumi, the main guy, she's not even a girl.
Narumi on the other hand is a gifted hairstylist, nowhere near Kiri's talent, and he plans to be the number one hairstylist in Japan. This boy has a very wide emotional range, as I have yet to find a part where he is not freaking out about something. He's allergic to girls (Which is very funny to me) and he's a little bit of a jerk.
I laugh at all the relationships Kiri has, one being a little girl who thinks Kiri's her prince, another is a boy obsessed with Kiri because he's obsessed with her mother, a make up artist who was best friends with Narumi, another great hairstylist who's been through a rough time, and last but not least, Narumi.
I loved the way that Kiri helped people, Narumi and other hairstylists all chose people that were beautiful to make beautiful, she always went with the people that needed it the most.
I'm hooked on Beauty Pop for it's comedy, storyline, art, characters, romance, everything in it pretty much. It's an awesome comic that I hope you love.

Beauty Pop review
Beauty Pop is a lovely story with fantastic characters!
The story wasn't to complicated and it was easy to follow but only enjoyable to read, and the characters are all well drawn and got their own (incredably cute) personality. Yes, the story in the beginning wasn't all my cup of tea, but the more I read the more I fell in love with the humor and the characters.
The art overall maybe isn't all that outstanding, but allthough it was sometimes a little plain the drawing style is cute and wery sutable towards the story.

kiri in the most of the volumes refuses to take after her father ever since she cut her mothers ear while cutting her moms hair. but eventually excepts the fact that that she cant waste her talent and she once said wen she was little she wanted to make people look beautiful. heres where men likin her comes.futher in the volumes... kiri complements ochai's makeup skills and smiles. then thats where he starts to fall in love with kiri. then naru naru falls for her since he acidently triped and kissed her. with ochi and naru in love the same girl obvoiusly
ochi finds out his bf loves the same girl as he does. because of that they are now fihgting for kiri'S love. in the end she choses naru naru. which made me overjoyed because ochai isn't worrth it and he is a jerk to naru a lot wen it comes to kiri business.

Beauty Pop review
Beauty Pop is a pretty decent manga that just seems to leave you content in every factor. If you happen to not have a masterpiece at hand,I assure you Beauty Pop will not make you feel like you have wasted your time while you search for another masterpiece. If you are still not certain, follow on and read the rest of my review.
Story:7(Good)
Sure the 'genius meets hidden prodigy' idea isn't really all original. But then again how many more original ideas are there nowadays...It all depends on how you weave it yes? As I was saying the plot itself might not be all that original but the idea of hairdressers is really different.(Okay. It might be common. I don't know.) It doesn't just hang around with the two characters standing off but to find out you'll have to read it for yourself. I'm not going to spoil anyone here.
Art:8(Very Good)
I am not a really good judge of art but since the art throughout is not horrible and better than just readable so it should deserve a 7. Why 8? Oh I added that extra one point because of the beautiful characters that come out of the transformations by the hairstylists. Not really detailed but this will do.
Character:8(Very Good)
The development for each character isn't very deep to the point you can relate and feel for the character. But at the same time they give you enough hints just enough for you to understand the character. The interactions between characters helps with it too. Not too many interactions but they do the crucial points so it's all good.
Enjoyment:8(Very Good)
I was just looking for something decent to read and happen to land on Beauty Pop. Overall as a person who needs beautiful characters and romantic interactions,Beauty Pop has given me a really enjoyable ride. It isn't outstanding but it doesn't have flaws in any factor. Just an all rounded manga.
Overall:9(Great)
Overall Beauty Pop is a fairly enjoyable manga that has a start and an end(Literally). I gave it a nine because they had an ENDing and the characters didn't spend time being Tsun and indecisive.
Thank you for reading my first review, see you around I guess...

Beauty Pop review
There is only one reason I'm not giving this manga a 10-so hear me out.
The story revolves around Koshiba Kiri, a slightly aloof girl who comes off as being self-centered. However, she has an extraordinary knack for hairstyling. This isn't taken well by the resident 'genius' hairstyle Shougo Narumi, who vows to beat her along with the help of his club, The Scissors Project.
So yeah, your probably reading this thinking it's an average run-of-the-mill shoujo. Which, if I'm honest, I was expecting that myself. Trust me you couldn't be more wrong. It's almost like the characters have been reversed. Instead of the guy being the aloof, calm and contained lead you expect (very few shoujo male protagonists seem to be anything but) and the girl being a heart-rules-head, temperamental firecracker it's completely the opposite. Which I think hugely contributes to the manga being so fresh.
I think one thing that might put some people off reading it, is that Koshiba doesn't look like your run-of-the-mill shoujo heroine either. Granted some shoujos have a girl who is 'ugly' or 'shy' or 'not liking her looks', but they all have their TRANSFORMATION moments-where someone dresses them up or circumstances forces their hand and they have to change.
Warning: that doesn't happen here.
But I think that's a huge bonus to this story. It makes it more natural. Who here on MAL is ever going to go through a radical transformation which makes all the boys/girls fall madly in love with them? Most of this story revolves around how well Koshiba and Narumi change other girls, so why interfere with Koshiba-who is the complete genuine article?
I only had a few problems with the story. And they were mostly technical rather major plot holes, so nothing to put you off. I think the relationship between Koshiba and her mother didn't quite work for me, and the ending I found too abrupt.
Aside from that, this is a story that makes your heart race, you laugh out loud, and get behind the two main characters as they fight to the finish. I will definitely be watching this mangaka!

Beauty Pop review
Beauty Pop is a fun reading.
The main character: I loved her. Her attitude is what I loved most. That cool, not caring attitude drew me in since the beginning. I sometimes wish more female characters were like her. To not care for gossips or what people say about her. She is fun to read and I just find myself smiling every time I reread the manga.
I like competition manga a lot. I like challenges and stuff like that. So Beauty Pop with its main plot being beauticians, I really liked it.
So in the school where Kiri goes to, there's like a monthly show were this group of boys transform a random girl into a "swan". Kiri doesn't care about them. She doesn't even want to be a beautician because of something that happened in her past.
But when she transforms a girl that the boys didn't want to transform, she is catapulted into their worlds. Although she doesn't want to and she doesn't pay them attention.
Narumi, who is the male main character, is the leader of this group of boys. He cuts hair flawlessly. He loves cutting hair. He hates that Kiri cuts hair much better than him. I think that he doesn't really hate her, like I think he is afraid that she will leave him behind in the beautician world. I think he really looks up to her as a rival.
And also, I loved that they had a goal since the beginning. I mean, they knew what they wanted to be in the future. They wanted to succeed. And they did something about it. They weren't afraid, they kept trying and trying and that's what I loved most about this manga.

Beauty Pop review
I really enjoyed this series, and I'm glad I eventually decided to give it a shot.
I recall seeing it in bookstores all the time, but the story didn't sound interesting to me, too cutesy, and I thought a manga about hairstyling would be a snore. But this wasn't the first time I was proven wrong.
Sure enough, it was cute, but not overly so. I just found everything about it endearing. The characters grew on me, and by the end I even developed a soft spot for Iori's annoying way of speaking.
I don't know the first thing about hairstyling, but the story was entertaining. It was the characters that really held it up and kept things going, so they were the favourite part of my Beauty Pop experience. At first, I wasn't sure who I liked best, but near the end I realized Narumi had won me over.
As for the art, it begs to be described with one word; cute. That word is extremely overused when it comes to my opinion of BP, but it's so true. Every aspect of the series struck me as quite adorable, from Narumi's angry outbursts, Kiri's nonchalant attitude, Ken's over-apologizing, Kei's love for sweets, or Ochiai's little crush... to the clean and sweetly drawn facial expressions and large eyes, the bright, colourful volume covers, and the panning out of random story events.
It was a good read. Any fan of the shoujo genre shouldn't pass this one up.

Beauty Pop review
This has been on my "To Read" list for a very very long time and finally, I unleashed it today cause goddamn, my manga has been in drought lately lol! This manga was legit long winded for 51ish chapters but I friggin was entertained by the main characters such as Kiri's stoic attitude, along with Narumi's stupid over the top attitude. What I'm saying is that they are likeable characters.
Seriously tho, this manga is making me want to get a haircut again and yet I've only gotten it done a week ago lol. It was nice to read something different that revolved around hairdressing for a change. There's also not much serious romance in this but listen , if you don't mind the old skool art and just only want the comedy side of things than romance, this one is for you folks!

Beauty Pop review
Short Overview:
The main character, Kiri Koshiba is an extremely gifted hairstylist. She is not very interested using her special talent for the fame and glory. However, she runs into three popular boys who run "Scissors Project" or S.P. for short at school. They have a super awesome goal to be the best makeover team ever in Japan. They give out random makeovers to chosen girls during S.P. sessions. Kiri tries to avoid the Scissors Project at all costs, but she finds herself adding a little 'magic' to people's lives..
My reaction:
[Please note this will probably change once the series is done. These are my impressions so far ^^;]
Story:
9/10
I loved this story to death. It is a really good shoujo manga. I hope it becomes an anime someday because I think it would be watchable. I also recommend it to fans of Ouran High School Host Club. Why? Because there are characters similar with the Host Club members! If you want to find out, read the manga. I thought a manga about hair styling would be boring, but the manga-ka makes it very interesting and exciting. Even if you don't like fashion, you will probably like this.
Art:
9/10
The art is fairly pretty at times, so it is bearable to read for picky art folks. The art is kind of similar to most shoujo manga of course such as Ouran and what not.
Character:
9/10
The characters were pretty interesting. I thought that a lot of them reminded me of Ouran characters like I have said before, so mangas like this have been done before of course with one girl being surrounded by a group of pretty guys. Most of the characters come from super rich backgrounds and are popular in school. It seems like it has been done before, but it seems to still make a good story.
Enjoyment:
9/10
It is a pretty enjoyable anime despite the fact of being similar to other mangas. In fact, I noticed this manga because it was similar to other mangas to begin with. If you are looking for a shoujo that is like the next Ouran look except is not as popular..give Beauty Pop a chance.

Beauty Pop review
I'm still stuck in the exciting world that is the Scissors Project. I picked up the first volume thinking it would just help me pass the time, but i ended up racing to the library every weekend for the next couple of copies. it has a great story line with lovable characters, with adventures that will make you laugh out loud. despite it's cheer, there are still side stories that nearly had me bawling.
the only downside is there is only ten volumes, which made the ending seem a little rushed. it was an okay ending, but some strings needed to be tied up.
overall, one of my favorite mangas so far, and i would definitely recommend it.

Beauty Pop review
I can't really explain why I liked a manga about hair cutting. But I did.
The story was nothing special. I read the whole manga in about two days however, so the story isn't bad. I wish it had focused a little more on inner beauty instead of outer, but in picking up a manga involving a bunch of teens giving makeovers, I can't say I'm surprised.
Kiri was a good main character. Smart and attractive in a way different from most shoujo heroines, you can't help but like her. I wish she had ended up with someone else then who I expected, but all in all I liked her.
Most of the other characters were what you would expect in a shoujo manga, but three did catch my eye. Gen, someone who you won't really understand but love anyway, Billy, someone who you hate and breaks your heart at the same time, and Chisami, a cute little girl who plays a bigger part in the story then you might think.
The art was okay.
All in all, not the best manga, but not the worst by far. I enjoyed it. Maybe you will too.

Beauty Pop review
when I 1st knew about the story from the following summary:
"Although a truly gifted hairstylist, Kiri Koshiba has no interest in using her talent to pursue fame and fortune, unlike the three popular boys in the "Scissors Project" at school. They give showy makeovers to handpicked girls, determined to become the best makeover team in Japan. As much as Kiri tries to shy away from the Scissors Project spotlight, she finds herself responding to beauty's call..."
the part of what interest me most was a gifted hairstylest girl who doesn't have interest of becoming hairstylist and other guys who wanted to be famous.
so I given a shot...
and I say as one of best manga shoujo I've read besides Fruits Basket and Hana Kimi.
Story:
for a shoujo manga, which usually shoujo manga has so much romance in with obvious hints, I'm suprised because in this one the romance is not the real focus, is a story where unfolds and flows with a different rythm than the usual shoujo manga.
the only problem is that te story development can be a bit slow.
Art:
I like the art a lot, clothes in special and perspectives, is not a masterpiece, to me is good, I like how it shows the emotions of the character.
Character:
to me is what this manga has best, the characters with their unique ways and personality, and so as their beliefs in development, they always have great development and how shows more of their personality while the story develops.
very entertaining characters XD.
one of good points, they are not those fancy characters in usual typical shoujos.
Enjoyment:
is sure big because I've re-read 2 times, and I found very enjoyfull, good comedy, it has good cool moments.
Overall:
I say is really good, too bad is not in anime.
has 10 volumes, enough to have 26 eps D:
we could say is part of my wish list of mangas to turn into anime.

Beauty Pop review
Beauty Pop is an exellent manga to laugh. The genre is comedy, and it is.
Kiri Koshiba, the daughter of legendary hair stylist Seji Koshiba, has golden hands if it comes to hairstyling (just like her dad). But she don't really care about that fact, and that's what makes it funny, I think. Kiri always has troubles with her rival, Narumi. Narumi is the son of the owner of the biggest hair salon in Japan and he's pretty good in hairstyling too.
The art is really good; it is fine to read and it looks so cute, even the 'bad' guys!
Beauty Pop has a sweet story, but even a sweet story can be exiting. Some characters are a little bit weird, but I like them all. If you like action, you don;t have to try this one. It is one of my favourite manga.
I hope you'll enjoy it!

I don't understand why this manga only got okay reviews. I loved this one, and how even though it's a shoujo manga, the main focus isn't just the love and romance, like in other shoujos. I also loved the fact that it is both funny, but serious when necessary. Overall, i would give this one a 20 out of 10 ;)

Beauty Pop review
I don't have much to add, aside from what has already been mentioned, except that I need to emphasize the heroine's character quality.
I believe it was the first time ever when I had the pleasure of reading a story centered on a natural, believable highschool female, in this kind of setting. I absolutely love her aloofness and her ability to discern the importance of things at such an early age. The fact that she doesn't really care about most of the things that teenagers rage about is a real breath of fresh air.
However, when building these kind of characters it's kind of hard to create an intrigue around them, without ruining them with melodramatic changes. I mean, you'd have to be really REALLY skilled writer in order to pull that off.
So the main reason I graded this with an 8 is because the story is way too uneventful, even for a slice of life. On the other hand, Kiri, the relationship with her father and cat and the warmth of her surroundings are really relate-able (to me at least) and I believe they are strong redeeming aspects of the manga.
I'm not crazy about the art, but I assume because it's that specific style (just like Mars?) that I just find hard to digest.
That being said, give it a try and cherish one of the few heroines that aren't annoying, don't cry every two chapters and don't blush all the goddamn time.
I believe it was the first time ever when I had the pleasure of reading a story centered on a natural, believable highschool female, in this kind of setting. I absolutely love her aloofness and her ability to discern the importance of things at such an early age. Beauty Pop review
Beauty Pop -
A Manga full of laughs, seriousness, and slight hints of romance. Its a wonderful and enjoyable manga and I'm surprised barely anyone reviewed on it. The Story mainly focuses on Kiri Koshiba; girl gifted with the talent of hairstyling and is the daughter of the famous hairstylist Seiji Koshiba. Her life has changed ever since she encounters the S,P (Scissors Project); three popular guys at Ryokufuu High School that gives the selected girls a beauty touch. I really liked this manga because of its style and the funniness.
Art -
I liked the Art, it was very neatly drawn and also funny. Their looks really suit their personality and you could make out right away if the character is bad or not.
Characters -
Ha, My favourite thing about beauty pop. I like the characters a lot; especially Kiri. She has the i-don't-care-just-go-with-the-flow personality in her, and to me she mostly lives inside her mind. Thats what makes her so enjoyable and funny x3 Each of the characters has a different personality, but that doesn't change the laughter they can bring you.
Enjoyment
Yeah, I enjoyed this manga a lot. It's one of those kind that keeps you reading from the very first chapter. I hope it never ends, but of course that isn't possible.
Overall, I liked it a lot. Although the Romance doesn't stick out a lot, the comedy really keeps you from wanting it. I want everyone to read it since its not very popular : (
thanks for listening. ^_^

Beauty Pop review
I found Beauty Pop to be enjoyable. My favorite genre is rom-com and although I can say that Beauty Pop had both of these things in it was a bit skimpy on romance. If you like to laugh and don't enjoy up front romance this manga is for you. I am not saying that the romance is non-existent it just not the main influence. Overall though the story is interesting with likable characters that don't really get on your nerves. Its art work is pretty good and the story is descent. It really lacks in the pacing. It goes from kind of slow to really
energetic in the blink of an eye. Some story arcs you want more details about and it just moves on leaving behind some answers. It also stays on some story arcs a little longer than necessary. I highly recommend checking it out though despite the pacing because the comedy more than makes up for it.

Beauty Pop review
Story = 10
Beauty Pop was a great read overall, and it had a great plot through out the whole thing, not leaving much to be asking about. It was full of laughs, but you could also see the romance in it as well.
Art & Character = 10
The whole making people beautiful thing wasn't really on my lists of what I liked, but this manga really made me sort of like it. The characters were well thought out, and their expressions fit them. The art kept the same the whole way through the manga, which I've noticed doesn't happen in all of the manga now. The bodies were drawn perfectly, and the hairstyles were amazing. It didn't give me any empty feeling in the looks department.
Enjoyment = 10
This manga was great, and it made me laugh multiple times as well. It kept me looking for the next chapter each time. Before I knew it, I was done the series. XD
Overall = 10

Beauty Pop review
I rarely enjoy all that school stories. But surprisingly after reading four chapters translated into Russian I surfed the Internet for more of "Beauty Pop".
What I mostly like about this manga?
Story. Art. Kiri. Reverse harem.
Story is great. It has much more unexpectable twists than you think a story about hairstiling can have.
Art is very nice. It looks simple but it's just what you need to both enjoy cuteness and not stare at each picture till you forget what you are reading.
Kiri is drawn amazingly. Her smiling face is so cute! And what I also liked about her is that she is often sleepy and pretends she doesn't care, though she does, really. And she is very kind to help all that people.
And reverse harem is enjoyable too. In fact I think "Beauty Pop" is kind of "Ouran High School Host Club"(which I also love) clone. Only main heroine is MUCH better. And that childish guy has no Bun-Bun x) So don't be amazed if while reading you cry out smth like "Tamaki! What Are you doing here?"
This is manga about hairstylists. And at first I was a bit nervous. In fact I'm afraid of ones x) You see, there is hairstyling department in where I study and guys from there always try to catch me for their trainings cause I've long hair. But after I've read "Beauty Pop" I realised that they are not so bad (which doesn't mean I'll let them cut my hair short)
So I strongly recommend you "Beauty pop" if you are afraid of hairstylists. Or if you are "Host Club fan". Or if you just want to have some fun.
