Resumo
They say that the prime of one's career happens in their mid-thirties. During that time, women plan many things and tell themselves, "I won't let this year go by without doing anything!"
And then, a 34 year-old's life begins, hearing a new vacuum cleaner hum in the night shifts her moods as the Galactic Railroad runs in her mind...
Shall we take a look at an unemployed's slow, laid-back daily life?

34-sai Mushoku-san review
You might be wondering, why did I give this a 10?
To anyone who is close to being middle-aged, this manga really hits home; even more so if you have been unwillingly unemployed. The author did a really good job depicting what unemployment is like for a middle-aged person who has otherwise been working for their entire life. To me it was a 10/10 because it made me think about the days when I was unemployed. I really like manga that can make the reader feel some kind of emotion. Reading this, I felt as if I was transported back to my struggle with unemployment. I recalled the sadness, boredom, and the trivial choices that made up the majority of my day. I won't spoil too much, but scenes such as meeting up with a friend who is employed, and deciding on a vacuum cleaner felt very authentic. Both the thought process as well as the emotions felt real. At the moment I am only 20 chapters in, but I had to come here and write a good review since it made me very emotional. I would not recommend this for younger readers since it will probably be boring to you, but if you are an older reader, this might be able to take you for an emotional ride. |
