Resumo
Ayaka Shiramine has everything going for her: a beautiful, kind, and hard-working girl, she is the star of Seiran Academy—at least, that was the case before she moved up to the academy's high school division. Enter Yurine Kurosawa, an aloof and friendless girl who excels at everything from academics to housework without lifting a finger. In fact, she seems to surpass Ayaka in almost all aspects, and the former star student quickly begins to despise her new rival.

Despite her disdain for Yurine, Ayaka's kind nature and a push in the right direction help Yurine to begin making friends... and fall head-over-heels for the girl who hates her. Meanwhile, Ayaka struggles to deal with her growing feelings towards Yurine; though she can't stand the girl who knocked her down to number two, she finds herself falling in love with her.

Ano Ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo tells the story of two seemingly perfect girls who, while still searching for their place in the world, have at least found someone in a similar dilemma: each other.

Ano Ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo is one of those shoujo-ai manga you don't really keep up with the updates nor get really into it. Its genre mostly is based upon comedy so this manga is very light-hearted. For those trying to look for an intense yuri/shoujo-ai manga checking out yagakimi or citrus would be a better choice.

Story : This manga doesn't solely focus on the main couple but explores different characters love life set in the same universe thus the main story shifts around a lot never focusing on any particular characters but in the end still coming back to the mains. The recent chapters starts approaching and exploring more parts of the main characters and if i may say so bringing in the serious-ness of the manga. There's no certain attachment for readers towards the characters. Yet, the main story can be quite captivating as we follow Kurosawa's journey of 'self-discovery' with the help of the love interest Shiramine Ayaka. The story line also moves at a questionably slow rate. I rate this 7/10

Art : As far as art goes i would say this is quite good. The art style is unique and the expressions of the characters are fun to read. There is nothing much to say about the art as i find it very enjoyable and comfortable. I rate this 8/10

Character : In terms of characters we have a wide variety to choose from. There are multiple couples in this manga whose story you will eventually come across but unlike the main characters they do not have much character development. As per say, the recent chapters focuses more on the main characters and we see changes in their personality. The character development of this story mainly focuses on developing the main and i see no reference whereby the side characters will receive any in the future. I rate 7/10

Enjoyment : I always have a thing for light-hearted manga's so i really enjoyed this. If you're looking for a quick and simple fun-to-read manga this is one of the best out there. There is no specific in depth plot line that feels intense. There's plenty of comedy with a slight hinge of heart-wrenching but mostly filled with enjoyable interactions and blushing between both main and side characters.

Overall : I enjoyed it a lot. However this isn't a must-read shoujo-ai manga for fans out there. The plot is arranged on purpose to enhance the messy-ness of the manga as they move from characters to characters but never stray from the main characters. Its something to pick up only when you're absolutely bored but in its defense i absolutely love this manga.

This manga is not overrated nor is it underrated, its not on the highest must-read shoujo-ai list for a reason. It's right where its suppose to be. If you like it you like it, its not like one of those manga's where the further you progress the more entrance you will be by it. Its not one of those immersive manga's but nevertheless its a good manga that's worth a shot ;)

One of the best shoujo-ai mangas present out there!!

This is a manga about Kurosawa Yurine (an overly talented young girl whose performance is at best no matter what she does) & Shiramine Ayaka (honest hard working girl who got frustrated when Kurosawa stole her 1ST SPOT!!) the story between them is just SO beautiful that I can't help but to think about this manga! to get it off my mind I want to share a good review so that u guys know what you're about to experience

First thing - this manga does not focus entirely on our MCs! this at first gave me irritation to an extent where I wanted to drop! but then I realized what I was doing was A RUSH READING. so I want you guys to take this manga at a slow pace may be taking breaks and understanding the characters :D
Second thing- there are SOO MANY CHARACTERS!!!!! SO MANY SHOUJO-AI COUPLES!! The sugar level is soooo damn high!!!! it is confusing at first but trust me after a while you'll understand how beautifully pieced this puzzle is!!
JUST IMPECCABLE!! - when I ended this manga I realized THIS IS IMPECCABLE!! The last chapters (45-50) were such a beautiful road to heaven (I don't double mean this) and the thing I loved the most was their thought process - literally pieced and so damn realistic!

The perspective of understanding ANY relationship is unique in each one of us! this manga is not about how diff girls found that relationship but about how they understood it themselves... it is so dazzling to get to know each of their stories! which also expands the imagination of the reader- that this world is so damn big and we all are so UNIQUE... finding answers which are within ourselves is always a divine process...

Now back to our Main Characters-
Kurosawa Yurine- she was the girl who scared me at first (laughs) - the character was so superficial /fanatical that as the story progressed I was impressed by the character design and flow of her thought process!! in simple words - she is the bold character and a very interesting girl till the end...
Shiramine Ayaka- and this is the character that we can personally relate (laughs). I mean she is that one girl everyone looks up to, but her character is not that superficial! she shouts at Yurine! she wants to defeat her so badly! she hates her! well here is the question - Is that really hatred? (answer to this question took 3 years T-T)

So yeah the rating goes without a doubt 10/10 masterpiece. all the side characters did a great job supporting the story!
Artwork- 9/10
Story- 9/10
Enjoyment- 10/10
such a lovely manga <3 hope u like it ^_^

Ano Ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo is a story that revolves around the couple Shiramine and kurosawa and a shit load of other couples. The fact about this manga is that each volume or say each story arc focuses on a different couple but at the same time relate them somehow or the other to the main couple in someways.

There are story arc that only focuses on the other couples too without the main couples not showing up at all throughout the arc. This manga has every story from a bittersweet to ultra sweet romance and even love triangles for a person to read.

Story: 7/10

The story in general is good. But you can make a individual assessment of each arc as i said before each arc focuses on a new couple or it may focus on a couple already shipped and add to their incomplete story. All in all if you like shoujo ai you may like the stories surrounding the manga arcs.

Art 9/10

The art is something i loved a lot and at times stands out beautifully to depict some scenes. They help in giving some scenes that extra punch and kudos to the person who made the art as its detailed but at the same time not overwhelming.

Character 8/10

There are some characters that are really well fleshed out in this.Especially the main couple and another one (moe n mizuki <3 ). You do get to know the characters well and they are well written and portrayed.

Overall 7/10

The manga does have some flaws here and there but at the same time a good read as well. The coupes are only girls and a i havent even seen a guy actually even show up in this one...XD
If you like bittersweet manga with the added tag of shoujo ai then you would surely like this.

This was quite an incredible ride. Ano ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo is a shoujo ai / yuri manga that explores the relationships and feelings of the girls at the all-girls Seiran Academy. It mostly centers around two protagonists, Shiramine Ayaka and Kurosawa Yurine - the latter who is a transfer student that shakes Ayaka's self-esteem after stealing her number one spot in the academic rankings as soon as they entered high school. It's your typical cute and fluffy rival to lovers to trope except it's (finally) yuri.

Eventually, the manga also started to explore the relationships of the people around our two protagonists, albeit it was a bit messy at the start. At some point, one chapter after another became about completely different couples and we only get glimpses of Shiramine or Kurosawa. However, Canno was eventually able to find the right footing in exploring the stories of these couples in parallel to the growth of both protagonists.

I found myself growing fond of these characters and I appreciate how the author took the time to explore them - differentiating the relationships of each one from the other, which is a nice touch instead of getting that simple "...and they fall in love!' plot point. In Shirayuri, Canno nods to the fact that the dynamics in each relationship aren't always as simple as just falling in love - even bringing across the point that sometimes some of us love more than one person. I think it's nice that they went deeper with this, it's certainly refereshing that the feelings of these characters were taken seriously instead of just being there because it's "cute" or framed as a "phase" which yuri mangas have been guilty of doing.

While I wouldn't say that Canno was able to properly interlaced these stories cohesively, I think they were able to create quite a strong ensemble that I just grew to love and it's great that the main story closed nicely while also giving a send off to the other couples.

9/10 - it has flaws in terms of cohesiveness but it's definitely worth reading and great addition to anyone's shoujo ai / yuri collection (which is increasingly becoming more interesting these days!).
