Fly High review
I like this manga because the heroine is not a damsel in distress. It's a really cute and heartwarming story. It's also interesting and funny.

Fly High review
Story: Hmm.... I really don't know what to say for this...it's okay i guess. The 'cliff hangers' make you want to read more and more. The ending really isn't too satisfying though....for romantic reasons
Art: I loved the art style. Nice legs, beautiful flowy hair, all the elements of shojo art. Especially the big eyes. The good thing is, that they weren't too sparkly which suited my taste. Sometimes they lacked pupils which nerved me out. The proportion was perfect. In some mangas, the face is too flat, legs too short, limbs crooked, fat waists etc. None in Fly High. Also, I have to give them brownie points for the bishonen. They are sexy. Seriously. Sometime the big eyes irk me out but when Natsumi draws Ichiya, fighting, standing, sitting or running, she nailed it. I would have to give a 10 for the bishonen. :3 Character: Personally, I found the characters a bit cliched and lacking originality. Take Ruka Miller, graduated from university at 11. If that dosen't scream Sue I don't know what does. And the main character, mistaken for a boy, trained 7 years in mountain with father...hmmm... Originality aside, the characters can really be loveable *looksonlycough* Enjoyment: As I said in the beginning, I loved the manga. Although it didn't hit the heartstrings I would like to compare this manga similar to a one-night fling. Highly enjoyable as you read it but it won't cling to your mind and stay. |
Fly High review
I love this manga since the characters are well drawn and the story is somewhat interesting, but the sad part is that it only have 13 chapters. I am not satisfied. It would have been great if the mangaka made this a long story because this manga has a lot of potential and I really like it when the girl is strong.

Fly High review
Fly High is one of those Shoujo manga which has a protagonist who is "tough". It has a plot which you could probably have read but as you read deeper, you will find yourself drawn to read more. And no, it does not have a lot of fighting scenes which I totally expect to have.
warning! MAY contain spoilers. So, the story is a good read. Though there may be times where in you'll get annoyed with Meru (like What-the-f***-are-you-doing kind of annoyed) you'll eventually get over it cuz of the explanation. It may have its down moment but well, what shoujo manga has not down moments? So the love story, Im not so sure about this part but i think there will be a love triangle going on...but then again there's this girl... Then again, Meru is..You just have to read to know what im talking about ;) But one thing for sure is I'm rooting for Ruka and Meru!! >.< The art. I gave the 10 out of 10 because it was drawn pretty well. Hot Guys?! What more could you possibly ask for? hope this helps ;) |
Fly High review
This is my very first review so go easy on me. the good:I liked the artwork it was detailed and good looking, and i like that the main heroine wasnt some typical weak damsel in distress who always needed to get saved. and the story was not too slow paced and I always wanted to know what would happen next. the comedy was also pretty good.and i enjoyed that they showed how two faced people could be (the old student council president) the bad:well I really hated the ending for a few reasons, they just threw in some mary sue with black hair at the
last minute, the ending wasnt even a ending because its like they did not even complete it. and I also did not like the romance part much,at first it had potential to be a good romance but it was too slow paced because it took too long for Ayuzawa to stop hating meru, and then though in the last 3 or 2 chapters when they were starting to get close, the black haired mary sue kinda got in the way because they were too busy about her or something and most of all i dont like that Ayuzawa and Meru did not confess either of their feelings. and another things I dislike is that ayuzawa would hurt a girl, and that he and the others became bullies or whatever because they wanted to make things better for the mary sue I understand that but in my opinion there are other ways to do that.

Fly High review
I have to say that this story is epitome of average to me. It's not bad, but it's not good either. If it weren't for how short it was, I would've dropped it, and there was a part of me hoping it would redeem itself.
It was just embarrassingly predictable. I already knew hoe things would end because they followed the same manga formula that other manga of the same genre use. It didn't bring anything new or interesting. A story about a really strong girl fighting for justice and then a love triangle it's just not that special. Sure it's a good premise for a guilty pleasure, but even then this story remains forgettable because of how lacking in personality it is. Then there's the ending which doesn't feel like an ending at all for the manga. It's great for the first arc of the story, but it doesn't resolve anything that the manga discusses. The romance is left hanging, and she already has a resolution a few chapters before, therefore making this ending feel forced. And I am leinant to endings. I like endings even if some find them unsatisfying or unlikeable as long as it feels like a grand resolution. I just don't think the ending was strong enough to close the story. |
