Haken no Kouki Altina

Alright, so once I was so bored I started writing random things at MyAnimeList browser to see what happened. After a while, and finding Lionel Messi in not one but TWO anime and manga (beat that, CR7 (no hate on him)), following my asado-fútbol-mate gaucho nacionalist pride instinct, I typed "Argentina" to see if there was something remotely close. To my surprise I found the main character of this series, and I was so bored I said "Heh, I don´t read manga, so why not start here? Whatever". And there was a good thing and a bad thing about it. The bad thing? They don´t call her Argentina, they brief it to Altina (pero la pu...). The good thing? It was a great read.

I didn´t only find a non-fantastic (even idk why it is labeled as fantastic), pretty realistic military series as I have been looking for a long time in anime world, but also it was great. The story made a lot of sense, it had really great interactions and events, and the characters were pretty great to me. Also it pushed me to read more manga, so it had a really great effect on me. I loved every battle, the author made them really well and, even it may not be a top flight, unique anime, it is greatly enjoyable.

Unluckily the manga ended too soon. Still, I will mostly sure go on with reading the light novels, as I want to see how the story ends. Well done, authors. You did a great job. A comparison? CA Huracán 2015 squad: Not really known in the world but a great masterpiece in the field.

Should you read it? Yes, it´s a great hidden gem out there.

I'm new to reviewing and since there are no reviewers for this yet, I'll make this brief.

This story is one of the hidden masterpieces out there that I have really enjoyed. Seeing from the fact that the protagonist is weak, and stayed true to it. The MC, Regis, really doesn't have any special skill or power at all. All he has is his brain and his amazing strategies that never fail to surprise me, the reader.

Altina is a reckless princess who aspires to change the empire, and has recruited regis to join her on her journey to take the throne despite her brother having a much larger advantage.

Throughout the series, each character slowly starts to develop overtime. Regis started to gain confidence in himself, and Altina became less and less reckless as time passes by. The two makes a great duo of opposite extremes trying to find the 'balance' in their way of thinking.


The story is great and always interesting, The art is good, with no excessive nudity added. The characters are amazing, and I throughly enjoyed every single bit of this novel.
