Majo no Ie: Ellen no Nikki

Majo no Ie: Ellen no Nikki is an amazing Manga.

As the most of you probably know. This Manga is based on a Novel with the same name. But originally the idea of this manga came from an japanese horror adventure game. Make sure to check it out. I wouldn't say it is necessary for the story but this Manga spoils the plottwist of the game. So be aware.

Story (9/10):
Although this is only a Manga with 2 Volumes, the Story is pretty intense. I love the way this Manga is dealing with the protagonists feelings and how it plays with my feelings as well. While reading I didn't know how to react. It somehow reminded me of Hänsel and Gretel and its witch. Is she really a villain character? She trapped Hänsel and Gretel because she was starving, right? Would you have done something else if you would be the witch? This Manga really messed up my ecpectations.

Art (9/10):
I loved the art. It was very "disturbing" me from time to time and had a very dark tone. It was absolutely fitting for this Manga. There was a scene in chapter 9 I really loved. Without spoiling. It was a 2 paged picture of a room and the writing was from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. I watched this page for like 5 Minutes because it really touched me.

Character (9/10):
You can't really talk about this a lot witout spoiling. So I will keep it short. Like I already said. This manga messed up my expectations. Not only because of the story but also because of the characters. I really liked their motives and realistic ways to act.

Enjoyment (9/10):
I will just stick to my rating of 9. I recommend this Manga to every Horror fan and fans of the game. Be prepared of it's dark tone. If you like shows like Madoka Magica, Shinsekai Yori or Shiki, you will probably also like this Manga

Overall: (9/10)

Story(7/10): Its a backstory from a video game of the same name. But it can stand on its own a bit which is cool, but much better if you play the game as well.

Art(8/10): I like the art style a bit and how it gives both a cute and creepy feeling to it.

Characters(7/10): Not many characters but they're good, the main character is a tragic one that quickly turns evil, the cat is pretty straight forward and is mostly their just to give and continue the plot, finally the last character you can't go into much detail without spoilers but its simply a kind girl who happened to be at the wrong place.

Enjoyment(8/10): Enjoyable read, more enjoyable if you play the game first because this story will spoil the games twist ending.

Overall its a backstory to the game, to get the whole experience read and play the game.
