Resumo
Shuusuke Takayama and the rest of class 2-A have just entered their second year of high school. For a bit of fun to start the new year, Shuusuke's long-time friend, Kazuto Satou, decides to make a popularity website where their classmates can vote for each other. Naturally, he sets up a vote for the girls first, and although everyone is a bit annoyed, they ultimately assume it to be harmless. But when the girl who received zero votes commits suicide, the class is shocked.

Some believe that the girl's tragic death was brought about by the popularity contest. Soon, however, a new vote starts, one that Kazuto had nothing to do with, and it quickly becomes clear that while Kazuto may have started the game, someone or something else is continuing it. As the body count rises, the remaining students of class 2-A will have to learn the rules of this deadly game or wind up victims themselves.

Since this manga is pretty unknown i thought i should make my own rewiew to advise people about it (sorry for my english).

Story :

Even though there is plenty of stories about the same theme, the plot of this one is still interesting.
Due to the short lengh of the short lengh of the story, the development is (too ?) quick without breaks. Still there is few good plot twists which are really unexpected.
Furthermore, the misteries about some of the characters and about the whole game are really intriguing.

Art :

The art is pretty decent overall. The gore scenes are well drawn, the background is okay. The design of the side characters is really basic so we hardly remember them. By contrast, the few main characters have an interesting appearance especially the hero who has an unusual look for a main character.

Character :

Again the side characters are a bit underdevelopped but this can't be helped with only 3 volumes. However some characters (especially the two investigators) lack of development.
Finally the whole plot is carried by 3-4 characters trough all the story who are the only ones with a decent evolution.

Enjoyment :

Even if it has some defaults, it's still an enjoyable read. I really appreciate the fact that the author managed to keep his plot interesting until the end while dropping some clues about the truth behind the game through all the story. So you can draw your own hypotesis and still being entertained.

Overall :

If you like this kind of manga, you will most likely enjoy Touhyou Game. Don't expect too much about it, but it's worth giving it a try.

I'm going to keep my review short and light on detail since the nature of this story is a mystery and its best to go into it nearly blind.

Tohyo Game is one of those "Vote or Die" horror stories, and as a result it has A LOT of cliches prone to the genre.

The main character who "just wants everyone to live" but ends up making everything worse by being "selfish", the REALLY obvious red haring who knows everything about The Game™ but refuses to share because they need to be a red haring for the story to work, and the short sighted villain who puts everything in motion.

Since the book is so character dense (something like 50 characters in 17 chapters) pretty much everyone can be boiled down to a one sentence cliche. As a result most of the cast gets very little screen time, even when the deaths got excessively graphic I found it hard to make myself care about anyone who died because I barely knew them.

Where Tohyo Game redeems itself from the MANY cliches is the speed of its story telling and the gruesome nature of both its deaths and the manner of "voting" the story keeps a pace that kept me invested and got me to finish all three books in one sitting and the author does a good job coming up with new "voting" schemes. Rather than just casting a ballot the voters are made to give up increasingly valuable things in a really neat way of upping the stakes.

For what its worth, I enjoyed Tohyo Game. Even if the story was predictable the author did a good job upping the tension by playing with the idea of what counts as a vote.
