Umareru Kachi no Nakatta Jibun ga Anna no Tame ni Dekiru Ikutsuka no Koto

Jesus. The characters were atrocious. The whole story was a mess and was clustered. I love horror and psychology, however the art was a bit.. off. The anatomy wasn't right at all, while it just seemed "ugly". Not only that, but there was no character development, a bunch of cluttered twists and most of the story line was just unclear.

The only reason this was considered horror was because of the MC (who's supposed to be the villain), yet it wasn't creepy considering the fact that it all just felt like stale crackers. There was no emotions attached to the character, no development in the character and was paced badly.

If you want a manga to just get grossed out at due to gore if horror isnt your cup of tea, this is for you. This manga did nothing for me.

Clickbait: The Manga

Story: MC lives a shitty life that was caused by his own laziness. He 'rebirths' in the worst way possible, after getting a second chance at life. Honestly, the story isn't anything new, but the way the author tackles it is fairly unique. Basically, instead of actually trying to 'remake' his life in a meaningful way, he decides that he's just going to try and sexually assault his childhood friend. He thinks about doing something actually worthwhile for a total of one whole page. The story spirals downwards from there. It's a unique story in that the MC is a piece of human garbage. Halfway in, another MC technically takes over, which lets us distances ourselves from the first MC, who basically becomes a demon.

It's all paced fairly fast, which isn't a bad thing. This manga mostly lives on shock value, and there are only so many times you can be shocked by the same thing over and over. The mangaka had good sense to make this a fairly short story. Assuming the early chapters don't turn you off too badly, it keeps you hooked in basically because you want to see the punishment that will be bestowed on the original MC.

The story receives negative points on the setting. The MC basically gets thrown back to elementary school. Why? Because... pedophilia is more shocking I guess? The characters would all make more sense if they were older. Literally nothing would be changed if the mangaka put them at least in middle school, but he sacrificed character personalities for shock value.

Art: Did the job, and I've seen much worse in big publications. The mangaka was able to pull off the big moments that matter, and there weren't any glaring anatomy errors. I find these kinds of amateur-esq styles amusing.

Characters: None acted like children, that's for sure. The series felt like it was written by someone who just assumes how children act. These kids are supposed to be in the 10-11 year old age range. One female character was obsessed with being sexy on a level that is not reasonable. The other was giving bullshit reasoning for why it was ok to be assaulted. It's one thing if an adult is coercing a child, as adults have 'auras' to children that make them nervous about speaking out. Other children have no such power. I've seen kids turn on friends for MUCH less then what the MC did to one of the female characters. It's always annoying when characters aren't consistent with the rest of the kids in their age range.

Anyway, me suspending way too much disbelief aside, the cousin character was interesting enough, and the MC was a very good level of completely batshit crazy. Certainly worth rooting against. I suppose it can be a bit refreshing to read a story with a complete piece of human trash as the main character, but he really exists as shock value. He has no real human qualities expect being a loser who was lazy, and being 'burned' by love. I hesitate to even use 'burned' because that would imply that he at least put himself out there, but no, he was just bitter that Nana didn't love him for all of his abundant flaws. That she didn't magically wake up and decide to love him one day.

Obsessing over one person basically your whole life might make you go off the deep end, but I'm pretty sure that most people would choose another if the opportunity presents itself, as it does in the manga. His 'love' for Nana is pretty thin anyway, or at least the feelings that we are shown at in the first chapter. It's less about loving someone, and more being sad for yourself that your not loved by /someone/. So his obsession with Nana felt pretty annoying.

Overall, it was a quick read that I don't regret. If you're not used to series like this, the story might come as a bit of a shock, and you might wonder what kind of sick person could write a story like that. But honestly, the story wasn't even that gruesome. I found it to be a bit over rated, honestly. Only one part made me feel actually uncomfortable. So if you're used to series like this, don't expect anything unique in terms of shock value. That said, it's still decent to read if your just looking for something quick, and if you want to see what the hype is about. After a few chapters, you just accept that this can only end poorly.

This story shows how people devolve into Malicious Looping Entities in time loops. Pretty great, but I decided not to rate a ten because of the way Ikumi was treated, and the way someone else transmigrated in addition to the regular time loop stuff. There is also the fact that Mukai forgot something really important that was only remembered at the end.
I strongly suggest this, and I believe this is underated simply because people find the crimes within unsavory. Even if you find rape and murder unsavory, you will probably still enjoy the story simply because it is so awesome.

Umareru Kachi no Nakatta Jibun ga Anna no Tame ni Dekiru Ikutsa no Koto (holy shit that's a mouthful, let's just call it Umareru) is a pretty odd manga series. I wasn't compelled to continue reading it for beautiful art, witty humor or a compelling and original plot. I kept reading it to see how much more shocking the series would become. It has a sort of "let's go on live leak and watch fucked up videos" appeal to it. You just watch to see how much worse it can get and depending on what mood you're in, that's enough to keep it entertaining.


The story follows a fat hikikimori named Izuya who after learning his school age crush is pregnant with one of his best friends child, gets drunk, falls off a school building and dies. After being killed though, he finds that he traveled back in time to when he was 11. He then vows to get his crush and fix his life for the better. So it basically follows the same premise as Erased but the difference being that in Erased, it was about a man trying to stop a serial killer and in Umareru, the main character eventually gives up on trying to make his life better, says "fuck it" and just does whatever he wants. This gets into some real messed up territory involving murder and rape. I found myself reading just to see how much worse the main character can get. and maybe I'm an awful person but that was actually entertaining enough to me to keep reading. That isn't all there is to it though with a supernatural mystery and an antagonist get involved. The story never gets too deep or anything though. It's more or less the same kind of entertainment like reading fucked up copypastas on /b/ or something. Luckily, the manga is only about 20 or so chapters long so it's short and to the point. Something relevant is always happening, there's a consistent pace and the story doesn't overstay its welcome.

Umareru's art is extremely average. There's never really anything exciting here. There were a couple of panels that looked above average but nothing amazing. One gripe I have with the art though are the character designs. They're just too bland and generic. The only character who stood out was the main character and he just looked like a young version of L from Death Note complete with the same outfit and haircut. Everybody else's designs are just painfully average and I sometimes even got characters mixed up because they look similar. In short, the art is just mediocre.

The character designs are representative of the actual characters. There's not a whole lot there. The main protagonist and antagonist are the only real interesting ones here. The exception would be one of the MC's friends and she's only interesting because the writer uses her to demonstrate that kids aren't only aware of sex but some are even curious, something you don't see a lot in media. Back to the main character Izuya though, he's an awful person but you can't help but kind of sympathize with him at the beginning and it keeps him endearing through the story. He's not a bad person at first. He's just someone who got the shit kicked out of him from life and you actually do get the feeling he actually really does care about the people around him at first. He eventually just realizes that what he does doesn't matter and just becomes a psychopath. The antagonist is also interesting for her motivations and back story which I won't spoil here but are genuinely surprising.

I oddly enough, enjoyed this series very much and it makes me feel kind of sick saying that. As I said before, this is the shocking kind of entertainment. It's the same draw that you see for something like Elfin Lied, a series I despise. The difference here between that show is that it doesn't just start in fucked up territory, it eases you in. A hot shower is enjoyable sometimes but you can't just start off blisteringly hot, you have to start warm and turn up the heat and that's something Umareru understands. If the idea of watching someone slowly become a psychopath sounds interesting to you, give it a try. It definitely isn't for everyone though.

The Few Things I Can Do For Anna Even Though I Didn't Deserve To Be Born.

Firstly i would just like to say, the title has nothing to do with the synopsis whatsoever, nor even has anything to do with the main character.

Anna is an interesting manga, that i honestly have no idea what it is trying to go for.
It's initial premise and first half of the manga is it embracing a hentai escapism plot with a twist. It shows the main character as a worthless piece of shit human that tried to make things right for himself, but due to his own stupidity and the good ol bullies abusing poor otaku mc for their hobbies, he becomes a straight up asshole and basically an mc from a hentai manga. So far, the manga seems fairy straight forward, a manga with a time travel premise that just takes longer than usual to turn into a hentai. So far so good. just need the mc to either rape the loli, i fap to it and we call it a day.

Of course, when there's like around 14 chapters left and it looks like he was gonna enact his plan, the other main character appears. Our other main character, whom i shall dub title girl takes the stage for the 2nd half of the manga.

This is where... the manga gets quite messy. It tries to go for a cat vs mouse , with our male mc enacting a plan while title girl tries to stop him, which leads to a lot of death and edginess.

Then the manga tries to pull a huge twist which, while i saw coming somewhat, i didnt expect it to be so... touchy. No spoilers, but all i can say is that the title is actually refering to the female mc, hence me calling her title girl.

The 2nd half tried to go for the cat chasing mouse type story as i mentioned, while also trying to come off as emotionally deep and tragic , forgetting that since everyone in this manga beside the 2 main characters, are fcking kids, it just makes the whole thing come off as laughable. Like especially when you consider, if they weren't 12 year old kids,the whole thing would come off as less... illegal.

Conclusion, anna tries to be 2 different type of story but does nothing with both of them.
It tries to be a hentai subversion, while also trying to condemn it's very premise
when it wouldn't work as a hentai due to how absurdly grounded in non hentai logic most of the time, and trying to condemn it's very premise and indirectly the time travel plot just doesn't make sense since at this point in time, most of your readers are just people who actually jerk off to fucked up hentai and you're just condemning them which, good move there brother.

Overall:
6/10 enjoyment from this contradiction of a manga,
3/10 for what it actually is
