Nisennenme no Propose review
The thought of harlequin romance manga honestly rather amuses me. Shoujo romance manga has one set of clichés, romance novels have another, and if the two met it should end up as one big mess of trashy girly romance – horrible, but possibly hilariously so.

That said, Three Wishes really didn’t meet any of my preconceptions for better or for worse. Quite frankly, it’s no more and no less than an average romance novel, illustrated by a manga artist. The story – girl meets a genie who wants to give her wishes but ends up falling in love with her – is ridiculously predictable but quite bearable. Shoujo romance readers will be rolling their eyes no more often than they usually do during other short, shallow shoujo titles. However, this average story is paired with fairly mediocre characters which are neither particularly interesting nor relateable, so as a whole it’s a rather poor little tale.

There’s one thing that stands out about Three Wishes, and that is the art. It was illustrated by Matsuri Akino, a rather prolific mangaka best known for supernatural mystery and horror titles such as Pet Shop of Horrors. The thought of her doing cheesy romance is quite frankly hilarious, especially since she chose to use her usual style with a few more flowers and bubbles in the background. Considering how different her art is from a typical shoujo style, it’s surprising how well this turned out. It looks a little bit out of place among hearts and not blood, but it still retains its unique supernatural feel and is easily the best part of this title.

So harlequin romance manga wasn’t as horrible as I expected. That said, it’s still nothing special in terms of story or characterization, so I’d only recommend picking up a harlequin title if you’re a fan of the mangaka that illustrated it.

Saitou-kun wa Esper Rashii review
I'll type something quick since i just ended reading this and i need to talk about it, thank you in advance for taking the time to read it.

Story: The setting is simple, our MC is an ESPer, and as such he thinks of himself to be above "normal" people. Honestly, i was expecting a simple comedy and laughs and that was what i got, even if the setting itself isn't the most original. (7)

Art: Honestly, the art is amazing, without a doubt the best thing about the manga itself. The ecchi is pretty tame, altho present, and its not over abundant, so it doesn't distract you from the story itself and isn't over used for the "oh so many" ecchi jokes. (9)

Characters: They are for the majority, enjoyable, but nothing particular spectacular either, there isn't anything new, but nothing so bad you wanna pluck your eyeballs out and seer or brain so you never remember them. (7)

Enjoyment: I was expecting something, and i got it. I didn't make me go "OMG THIS IS SO GREAT" but i did enjoy it for what it was, if you are looking for a light and fun read, go for it. Don't expect anything to serious (7)

Overall: Honestly, after reading it, i feel like the story got axed when it was going to enter its best part, and as such, it got a pretty shitty ending. Nothing really gets resolved, Saito (our MC) didn't get the development he deserved, the romance sub-plot remained unfinished (did it even ever start ? i guess...), we get thrown some serious stuff that is supposed to happen in the future, and the setting itself has great potential to be good, and if nothing else to be a great comedy, but there just aren't any more chapters, so it made me feel like it fell short. (7)

Again, i personally enjoyed this series and it did make me laugh, but the lack of conclusion to the problem in the last chapter and the lack of resolution to the romance subplot made me lower my overall enjoyment of this manga, but it was still a good read so if you enjoy comedy and some panty-shops, you'll probably enjoy this. Give it a read and fint out for yourself.

Ikkitousen review
Ikkitousen is a hit and miss manga, it excels in many areas and fails equally in vital areas.

The pros:
1. Ikkitousen has great artwork, the earlier chapters contain good artwork but the later chapters are outstanding. The girls of Ikkitousen are the major selling point of this title, and as the series progresses the girls begin to be depicted in more and more explicit ways (it went from simple panty shots to down right rape scenes and I'm not saying that's a bad thing). The only bad thing about this is that sometimes its very difficult to identify one character from the other particularly the girls since most of them have the same physique and are mostly identifiable only by their hairstyle and it can also get confusing as well

2. There's plenty of fight scenes here and most of it if not all are littered with nipple and panty shots at minimum, the gore level also increases as the series progresses. There are some fight scenes that are hard to follow but the incredible artwork would mostly compensate for it

The cons:
1. The story is extremely confusing. Many people will probably drop this title for this major flaw. If the reader is not an expert of "The Romance of the 3 Kingdoms Saga" then chances are that the reader will be frustrated.

2. There are way too many characters here, sometimes its good but most of the time the characters that get introduced especially the very minor ones only add to the confusion, as stated earlier some of these characters share very similar features which doesn't make it easier to follow the story.

Overall Ikkitousen is aimed at a niche market. If your after plenty of panty shots of some seriously hot manga babes and many intense fight scenes and don't mind a very confusing story and plot then look no further.

If you're after a deep and complex title however, then you will be disappointed despite the mangaka's attempts of making the plot to be as epic as the historical events it was based on.

Oogiri review
[Mod Note]: This review was originally posted for "Nani made nara Koroseru?", and has consequently been merged into Oogiri.

There's not a lot to say about a manga one-shot. Because it's so short, there doesn't normally leave a lot of room for character development or a great plot to flesh out. However, when I learned of this one-shot, which is written by the author of Bakemonogatari and the mangaka of Rosario + Vampire, I didn't resist for a moment to read it. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Bakemonogatari, Rosario + Vampire is a franchise that is very special to me, as the anime adaptation was one of my first anime as well as one of my favorites. Enough of my rambling, though. Let's get to reviewing this collaboration of sorts, shall we?

"Nani made nara Koroseru?" translates to "Haw far can you kill?" Kyuu-chan and Reika-chan are childhood friends, and one day, Reika-chan asks Kyuu-chan this question: "How far can you kill?" She explains to him about about how higher up the chain something is, the more difficult it is to kill. Reika-chan then tells Kyuu-chan that she "could kill a dog". The two childhood friends have grown apart since then, and one day, years later, Kyuu-chan and Reika-chan reunite when the latter is about to bury her now-dead dog.

The artwork in the Rosario + Vampire manga is done very well by Akihisa Ikeda, but is it any different in Nani made nara Koroseru? Of course not! The artwork gives the readers the eerie feeling it's supposed to give off. The story is also really interesting; it won't disappoint anyone that liked Bakemonogatari for its story. The ending also completely took me by surprise; I honestly didn't see it coming! Being that it's a one-shot, there isn't a lot of character development for Kyuu-chan or Reika-chan, the only two characters in the one-shot. However, they're still good characters, and they totally work out for the story!

Like I said before, there's not a lot to say about a one-shot; thus, it's hard to say anything in a great length. However, there's something I can say for certain. "Nani made nara Koroseru?", though absolutely not perfect, is a one-shot that stands above the rest, getting you to think about some things. If you're a Bakemonogatari and/or Rosario + Vampire fan and in the mood for something short to read, this is the one to read.

Oh, and one more question; How far can you kill?

Sekai Saikyou no Kouei: Meikyuukoku no Shinjin Tansakusha review
Full Disclaimer, this is written based off of the first book only. As of writing this guide there is three available for purchase in English with a fourth coming out later 2020. This is also the first review I've ever wrote.

Let's start with a quick TLDR. For me personally my priorities in just about any form of entertainment goes something like this. Full disclosure, that doesn't mean that any one of these things don't matter in comparison, this is just my personal taste.

Character Design > Power Design(When Applicable) > Plot > World Design

So with that insight, here's what I would give those "specific" categories out of 10.

Character Design: 8.5

Power Design: 9

Plot: 7.5

World Design: 9

The World's Strongest Rearguard is a great Isekai Harem Light Novel that takes a fun approach to some tried and true methods. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of the Isekai genre, or designs that are reminiscent of rpg gaming. It has some adult theme and suggestions, and I think is a good read for teens and adults. Here's some example titles that you could compare it to.
Dan Machi, Log Horizon, Final Fantasy Tactics, or a bit of a stretch "The Gamer"

Now with that aside I'll go into a bit more detail for why I gave the score for each of these. If that's all you were interested in, thanks for reading. For the rest of you, buckle up, this'll be a long one. I will of course do my best to remain vague to avoid spoilers.

Character Design

We're going to follow the same order as above, so let's get right into it with character design. As previously stated, I put a lot of weight into good characters. That's of course like most things up to preference on a person to person basis. "The World's Strongest Rearguard" does an exceptional job in this department. The author does a good job of immediately allowing you to familiarize your self with just about every character you encounter. Everything from their personalities to physical appearance is mentally painted well. While not every character is depicted in full art, I still finished the book feeling like I knew what everyone looked like. Now that's great and all, but are they likable?

I at the very least, felt like they were. Our MC "Arihito Atobe" see's a lot of growth in this first volume. Like some other LN Isekai's he starts out still shackled by some troubles of his previous life (albeit less severe then most others.) However you get to see him become more comfortable and grow into his leadership role. His various companions that join him throughout the first book are introduced in appropriate ways, and quickly fit right into the overall "feel" of the story. No true "villainous" type has been introduced quite yet, so I cannot comment on how they handle "evil" characters.

Now with that all said, some negatives and in-between. While MAL does not list it as such, this is definitely a Harem. Most of all our side characters so far are Females, and totally enamored with our MC. While this isn't inherit ably a bad thing, it can be a huge downside for some. Me personally, I don't like un-justified Harems. That being where the MC is totally unlikable, and there's no real reason for him to be adored so heavily outside of "reasons." With that being said, I think this LN handles it quite well. Our MC is a likable guy, good looking, and has a in-universe reason for why people are attracted to him. (It's worth noting that this does not only apply to him either.)

My other complaint that ultimately stops this from being a 9-9.5 character design rating, is as follows. So most of the other characters in this world are all re-incarnated from a modern non fantasy day. With that being said, and in-case that's too vague. That means one way or another, they died, and were apparently immediately transported to this other world. All memories in-tact and looking no different from their original selves. Everyone seems to handle this quite well. While I can see the idea of all of those things together making it feel like you perhaps haven't truly died. A bit more shock and struggle with the concept would've been nice to see.

Ultimately I think that the Author did a great job, and I'm really looking forward to meeting more of these characters, and discovering what villains are like in this universe.

Power Design

Hopefully not as extensive as the first Category, let me try and break this down. Basically when you're reincarnated in this world the first thing you are told to do is go and get assigned a Job, or in other terms a "class" I.E Warrior, Thief, Mage, etc. You can acquaint this with a system similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, or other similar Tactic Rpgs. You gain levels, and as you do are awarded skill points, to which you can allocate to a number of different skills that are available depending on you level. Now each of these jobs fall under three different categories: Vanguard, Mid-guard, Rearguard. Now as these names suggest these apply to the positions that said job would normally take in a "party". Again a term that for many video game players should be common place, but just in case, it's more or less a group of people that set out to accomplish a goal, in this case, exploring Labyrinths.

To touch a up a bit more on this concept. Every re-incarnated person is given something called a License. Which basically works as a menu screen from RPG games. You can view your status, and also form and manage parties here. The party leader quite literally sets people in one of their "Guard" positions here. So as you can see here it can get a bit MMOish. As you can tell, with a nine I found this system very fun, every new skill was well explained, and I got as excited as the characters when new ones became available.

Plot

Not going to go in too much depth here as, MAL rules tell me not to, and well there's not much of a need. The reason why this gets a lower score is because the over-arching plot isn't really explored too much in the first book, and what is, while interesting, didn't leave me theory crafting and craving more. I was just excited to go on more adventures with MC and the crew. I think it'll be interesting, but for me it wasn't terribly unique. I give it a 8 on MAL because decimals aren't allowed and I think it's more deserving of an 8 than a 7, plus some other factors that aren't really categorized by MAL helps it a long.

World Design

Again not to go to deep, but the world is set up pretty nice. Pretty much you have three different races so far. The Vaguely Mentioned Natives of the "Isekai World", Re-Incarnated Humans(Or Seekers), and Demi-Humans. I won't spoil much for what Demi-Humans are like, but they're pretty unique. In this world, there are things called Labyrinths which you can relate to dungeons from other games and series. In these dungeons are all sorts of creatures with unique abilities and designs. Again, the author has done a great job of explaining all of these things, and making every monster clear, and unique. Seeker's purpose are to explore these Labyrinths for the benefit of this Fantasy Country. They are awarded with Prestige, and Riches for achieving said feats. Not much else to say, I just think this was done extremely well, and I'm excited to see more.

In Conclusion / Final Thoughts

So once again, I think "The World's Strongest Rearguard" is a great read. It's enjoyable and tells a fun story. You can tell that there will be some terrible secrets lying in wait, but for now, we're just getting to know each other and that's alright. If you're a fan of the genre I think this is a must read. While there's not a ton of art in this first book, the stuff that's there is great. I think this would make a fun anime one day.

That's about all I've got. Thanks so much for reading if you made it all the way through. I saw that this series didn't have any reviews yet and was lingering just above a seven and I thought that was a shame. Hopefully this helps you decide if you want to purchase this or not.
