Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is a high school rom-com series aimed for mature audience. However, essentially the manga is a story about Ritsu Kawai, the love interest of our main character.

The entire story heavily relies on Ritsu's character and character development -- taking things like love and romance as nothing but part of ones life. This approach is already interesting as to most romance writers, there don't seem to be all that much else to romance stories than narrative driving cliches and the romantic feelings.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou goes in-depth with the love interests personal life, thoughts and overall personality there where so many others follow the philosophy "do you even need a reason to love someone?" This time, our author shows that even if you do not need such things, those things exist in great numbers.

Simply liking someone is not enough in this story. Rather, it shows how much it takes to fully understand other person, who they are and how to be with them. Just to quote Damien Rice: "It takes a lot to give, to ask for help. To be yourself, to know and love what you live with." A thought that is very relevant and accurate in this manga.

Overall, while this series relies somewhat to the typical on off thing where characters ponder and try to accept their feelings. To give their confession and hook together and conclude the story with what is expected of it, the route is not superficial nor shallow, but the trip creates a strong belief to its reader that this romance will last.
