Full honesty, just read this instead of watching the anime. There's more flavor to the overall story and more interesting things instead of a rushed commercial. Granted, it's like, still a commercial for an arcade game but the writing is a tad better here. Plus, you get the added bonus of seeing Nagayama's art improve as you go.

Of course, the characters are still a little flat, as would be typical of something meant to advertise games that are being sold, but at least they're a bit less shallow than what the anime offers. If anything, this is something you have to go into with an open mind and make some fun of it.

Also yeah it has a Dragon Ball fan's favorite thing: Blood and some kinda brutal scenes. They basically lose their mind over that kind of thing so I'm surprised they didn't latch onto this thing immediately.
