Dr. Stone review
First off it has to be said, for a shounen series this is a departure from the norm and I say that as a compliment. Once I began reading the manga it struck me as a new story and with the amount of borrowing that happens in the industry I was certainly intrigued.

Story 6/10
The premise behind the show deserves a 10/10 in my opinion (everyone turns to stone and wakes up 3700 years later is new and fresh). I would have loved to give the story a higher rating but I believe the writer faltered and wrote himself into a corner multiple times in the series. Without spoiling any plot points I'll try to allude to certain instances of this, the first being a problem I've had with several shounen even with HxH where a father figure assumes his O so great child will miraculously and certainly achieve a certain feat almost to the point of ludicrous proportions without any contingencies as if such a feat was written in stone. The second biggest issue I had with the writing was in arguably what was the climax so far, the final showdown between our protagonist and antagonist where I believe the writer aiming for the showdown to conclude in a certain manner created an utterly BS story for our antagonist that was never mentioned or alluded to prior before that point in time that our protagonist was able to use to amicably win.

Art 7/10
The art is well drawn my only qualm is all the woman look like are barbie dolls but some people like that.

Character 8/10
Our main character Senku is quite a ways different from our typical shounen main character he is smart and I mean really smart. Smart enough to build a small rocket capable of living the earths atmosphere as a child. He cares about his friends and family and he even has some scumbag quirks that makes him all the more likeable.
The series also has an array of likeable characters you're sure to love.

Enjoyment 8/10
The series regardless of its plot holes and sometimes forced humour is exciting and fun. I have actually enjoyed learning different types of sciences whilst watching the show and I'll eagerly recommend this show for anybody.

Dr. Stone review
Alright, my ratin might seem a little high but i see it as a bet on the future.
Dr. Stone is only at its beginning and it looks quite promising.

The post-apocalyptic setting, although too trendy nowadays, is put to good use. The back to the stone world idea is interesting and is simple enough to be catchy and leaves lots of opening for new plot uses.

Story :

A very shonen like story, good guy bad guy, clash of wills and Dreams. Some mystery have yet to be uncovered, what is the petrification ? What has become of the human race ? You wanna se more of it.

Art :

That one is a strong point for me. Sometimes it's kinda cartoony which creates a nice effect when it gets more detailed, with great muscle definition and environment. Some panel are really inspired and "badass".

Characters :

Extra extra stereotyped, but on purpose. The scientist is really sharp but weak phisycaly and he knows it. The bullhead is simple minded but quite resistant and has a lot of stamina etc.. They make a great duo. The scientist is written way better as he stands more as the real mc here (imo).
The bad guy is interesting and has potential too. By the way except for the bad guy i think thay have names that don't really stick for us non japanese.. It just doesnt sound "iconic" enough.

Enjoyment :

You like what you see, you want to see more, you get curious..

Overall :

Definitely a Young manga that has a lot of promises to fulfill. We'll see how it manages to make it last

Dr. Stone review
From the author of Eyeshield 21 and the artist of Sun-Ken Rock comes Dr. Stone, a shounen manga that's familiar, yet is new and innovative compared to any current manga running in Jump.

From the very start it introduces Taiju - your typical but inspiring "usual" shounen main character. We see how the world has changed while people have been petrified for over 3000 years. Not long after Taiju's escape from his petrification he encounters his best friend Senku - a smart and resourceful friend who seeks to find the cure for the petrification. As we follow their search we soon find out that the true protagonist of this series is Senku, and he will be there to stay as the protagonist.

What's interesting about this is that the author "misleads" the readers into thinking that Taiju's "the power of friendship" mindset will cure the petrification, but it actually focuses on scientific ways to solve it with the help of Senku. This is also what this series does so well. It's not a manga that hypes you up with fighting or playing sports, but rather it does so by introducing discovery, hope, and science. Science that is actually true to life (except obviously having some creative freedom).

This is backed up by beautiful art created by Boichi. If you've seen his previous work you'd know that he focuses making his drawings as extremely detailed as possible, though he's not able to always do it here given how it's a weekly manga.

The story starts off with a simple premise, and what Senku wants is very clear, and that gives this manga a sense of purpose and an end goal. Throughout the story we the readers are engaged in how the story will unfold, how Senku will find a cure for the petrification and how he will build a new society from the ground up. And this hopeful mind and this sense of discovery is what keeps me waiting for a new chapter each week.

I would say this manga is phenomenal and has the potential to become a staple series in Jump's lineup.

Dr. Stone review
It's good, but not the greatest thing of all existence.

First off, the story is good. I like the general idea of having to restart civilization using science. Initially, the Science Kingdom fights people with lesser technology, but that changes during the later chapters. It doesn't get stale and it feels very entertaining to read.
However, there are some problems with the story. The characters feel kinda bland. That's not to say they're bad, but I find them not as complex as some other well-written characters from different shows. Chrome is a good guy that likes science who also has balls of steel. Cool, but it's not complex enough that I feel like someone can actually feel attached to him. For example, you can compare a character from Dr. Stone to another character from AoT, and you soon realize Dr. Stone's characters are clearly outclassed. This isn't to say they're bad by any means, just that none of the characters are fleshed out enough to become truly great characters.
Another problem I find is the lack of tension in the story. We're gonna be getting into mild-major spoiler territory here so you have been warned. Anyways, during the Stone Wars arc, NOBODY DIES. I know Senkuu's trying to avoid bloodshed here but nobody dies in what is supposed to be a war. I find that really absurd, especially when Tsukasa and Hyoga actually change to Senkuu's side after this.
This happens again in the Treasure Island arc. The crew is deep into enemy territory, the majority of the crew having been turned to stone. Everything is tense, and you're prepared that somebody will die. But, as the arc ends, nobody dies except for some of the enemy faction.
Do you see why this is a problem? During tense arcs where death is expected, nobody actually dies. This kills any tension that might arise in future arcs as we are predisposed to believe everyone will come out fine. Hell, when Ginro gets straight-up impaled he manages to come back unharmed.
As for the visuals, it's fine. Boichi has a pretty strange art style, it's not like anything I have read. That's not to say it's bad, I just find it weird.

UNIQUE PREMISE!

Our MC Senku vows to use real science to advance technology and bring back to life the society we know, which was wiped out by a mysterious worldwide phenomemon that turned all humans into stone statues.

The enjoyment of the series lies in the ingenuity and cleverness Senku and his friends display to overcome the odds by creating history-changing scientific advancements well known to us (antibiotics, long-distance communication, guns etc) using only what few resources they have available to them in a wild, hostile world full of great mysteries.

This gimmick works very well because the whole proccess of reaching these achievements is displayed like a puzzle, with the characters taking many risks and showing great effort in order to assemble all the pieces and combine them.

Watching Senku and friends suceeding in making a new invention gives the same feeling of excitement as gaining a power upgrade after a training arc in shounen, and the clever, badass ways they use these inventions to overcome whats threatening them (other humans or nature itself) feel like epic shounen battles, truly a breath of fresh air into the genre!

GREAT PHYLOSOPHY!

While almost all post-apocalyptic series tell us very edgy stories to rant about how shitty and cruel humanity is, heavily criticizing both our nature and the society we created, Dr. Stone chooses a very different path.

The phylosophical debate is represented by Tsukasa and Senku. The former is the first antagonist, which rejects the old society for being cruel, flawed and corrupted, so they should use the apocalypse as an opportunity to start over from scratch with a new society based not on science, but on his own values and principles. The latter is the protagonist, and he believes its not up to them to decide whether the old society was worthy or not, and that they should restore everything to what it once was and let humanity decide their own future.

Many viewers, like me, will agree with Tsukasa at first. After all, humanity can be very cruel, flawed and corrupted, and our current society has many flaws that we all wish we could change, so if we were in Tsukasa's place, we would probably do the same. Through Senku, the author provokes the viewer stating he will change our mindset and views on society, and to my surprise, HE ACTUALLY FUCKIN DID IT(to an extent).

The entire story of Dr. Stone is a recapitulation of 10,000 years of human world history, displayed in a way that highlights all of humanity's greatest achievements and the struggle we had to go through in order to get to where we are today, without glossing over our mistakes and shortcomings. It is very easy to say our current society is worthless when all we point out is its bad side, but what about everything good it accomplished?

Of course our society is full of flaws and problems, BUT SO WHAT? Humanity has proven time and time again it is capable of evolving and overcoming huge problems with the power of science. Look at all these major issues we've solved in the past, why would we not be able to do the same with our current problems in the future?

This rhetorical question is the heart of Senku's argument and the Dr. Stone series is Senku's experiment trying to prove to the viewer that he is right, and even though I don't agree with him 100%, it does make a lot of sense. Watching these two grand ideologies clash is amazing and gives the viewer much to think about.

CONS:

To make the invention achievements sound reasonable and realistic, the author had to make a huge sacrifice: he made nearly every character in the show look and feel extremely exaggerated purely for plot convenience. The core of everyone's character is just one quality/flaw elevated to the absolute extreme: Senku is a bottomless well of knowledge, Taiju is endurance personified, Tsukasa is so strong he can kill lions with one punch etc (they are all teenagers btw LOL), their abilities are so unreasonably outstanding its hilarious, so even though the science behind all the inventions is real, the characters really aren't, which is great for comedy but makes most of them feel shallow and underdeveloped. Senku is the one who really carries the show as far as characters go (Ryuusui is best boi though) and thats about it.

Also the first few chapters have bad pacing and a TON of exposition so it might feel boring at first, I highly recommend watching the anime to get over the slow introduction quickly and get right to the good stuff. Once Senku reaches the village, its all badass from there!

OVERALL:

Dr. Stone is a fun and unique adventure filled with excitement, mistery and 5000 iq badassery. It reminds us that humanity can be awesome and have its moments of brilliance, that we should be proud and appreciate how far we've come as a society despite how long our road up ahead still is. If you're tired of your typical shounen battle series and are looking for something fresh, Dr. Stone is the way to go.

Dr. Stone review
A typical shounen manga, but in the sci fi world

Story: 8/10
The overall story of the manga is good, it starts with a big mysterious event that our main characters have to solve to achieve their goals, throughout the story, more mysteries are discovered and and resolved by the main characters, the development of the story is sometimes a bit fast, but overall smooth and logical enough for a shounen manga.

Art: 8/10
The art of this manga is very good, the details are drawn clearly and in a beautiful way, character anatomy might look weird sometimes but its completely tolerable.

Character: 6/10
Throughout the manga, a lot of characters are introduced, but only some are developed, sometimes the number of characters are too much that i forgets who is who sometimes. The huge number of characters also make it so that there is little room to develop all of their characters, so the character developmen feels somewhat lackluster. However, the huge number of characters is unavoidable as its only logical to have this many characters. Another thing that i dont like about characters is how the main characters almost always get the right person that they need when they need them.

Enjoyment: 7/10
The manga has everything that a shounen manga should have, comedy, adventure, friendship, wholesomeness, all of that and the intersting story makes this manga enjoyable.

Overall: 7/10
The story is interesting enough to keep readers waiting for a new chapter, the actions does not drag on for too long, and the goals of the characters are set clearly, the only bad thing about this manga is that it has such a huge cast that there isnt enough room for the characters to get developed.
