Ane Doki

To begin this is your average harem anime, with the exception that the protaginist, Kouta is a fourteen year old kid, and all the heroines are from his age to older.

Story:6
As I stated before, this is your average harem with a younger guy as the protaginist. There isn't any shocking twists, or any amazing character development. Honestly this reminded me a lot of Onee-chan Ga Kita. Actually the first couple chapters looks like one of them ripped off the other. A final thing was the ending I felt didn't explain enough of what happens between everyone.

Art:7
Most of the art is actually not that bad. Though there is a couple of service shots that looks a bit off. I could just be used to other ecchi manga where everyone girl has a seemingly perfect body.

Character:8
The character's themselves are rather plain, but the character's relationships are more interesting. One flaw with that character's are how all his male friends want to use him to get closer with his female friends, and some of the female character's seem unnecessary. Not that I disliked them, more that I saw that some of them had almost no chance with him. Girls would suddenly be flown into romantic situations with him giving me a sense of false hope, just to plung me into the depths of despair. Particullary Chiaki.

I actually really enjoyed reading this. I didn't beginning disliking some of the things until I decided to think this though logically. Though this is supposed to be a comedy, I didn't really laugh much, but I am rather tough to please with romatic comedies because of how many I read.

Dispite everything I just stated, I really liked this. Actually I could have thought these things with the motive of wanting to find a fault with AneDoki. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who's tastes were not suited for this. Some manga I liked even though the genre isn't normally something I would go after.

Few things to note, i havent read all that much manga, just over 3 days according to mal at time of writing this, but over 170 days of anime. So while i might not be a expert on manga i am quite used varying styles and genres from the anime i've watched. Also i wont include any spoilers, even though that limits what i can say on things. Also this is my first review, anime or manga, this is the first, so i dont care how its rated, i wanted put my thoughts down, and so i did.

Well i saw this while it was still publishing and was interested in reading it once it was all done, as much as anything else because Natsuki is so damn hot, and reminds in pretty every detail possible of Misaki Yamamoto of Hatsukoi Limited(also by Kawashita, Mizuki), which was a good enough reason on its own for me to start reading this as Misaki like Natsuki have the looks, style, and cool appeal to make them practically perfect, only flaw is i can never be with them :).

Well i agree with most of whats been said in the other reviews, its pretty typical, though i doubt anyone would read an ecchi rom-com expecting it to be something new. As another reviewer said, enjoyment is the biggest factor, as proof i was looking for something to read a few chapters of before going sleep, but instead i read it all which for me took over 3hrs but as i mentioned already i havent read that much manga so my pace might be quite slow. Once i started i just couldnt stop myself reading on, i truely did enjoy it, my only wish is that there had been another chapter after it finished, but saying why would spoil things.

Skipping any real review of art, as for manga i dont have enough reference to say whats truely good, or say whats bad or could be better.

So i say for the story, which although pretty typical does have enough for me to give it some merit, part of which for me is although its a stretch to believe that Natsuki simply decides to move in for the sake of paying her debt of eating his ice cream. You can mostly accept the happenings and reasons behind them as possible, this for me made the characters feel more real or believable, or atleast kouta, Natsuki and kanede as well as one or two others introduced later but i wont say who they are. It also progressed quite well, giving you answers on who Natsuki really is, and although its quite short, also showed the other relationships Kouta had with various girls quite well.

Characters, first the few other males in this were all your typical stock characters, very annoying, bland, and for me forgettable, like i didnt once remember their names, or feel like putting effort into recognising who was who.
Kouta, was nothing new really, but we all know how these things work. Unsure of himself, unsure of his feelings, trying to work out what it means to like(love) someone. Always quick to yell at the people he cares for, because he cant work out his feelings, yet when it comes time to act does so with little hesitation. Despite this i quite liked him, i think its probably me, but i always see there being something we can all relate to in these characters, though the situations are far beyond what we could hope for ourselves, understanding your feelings for someone isnt easy, and we have all made mistakes while trying to figure them out.

Natsuki, my reason for reading it. The mysterious beauty who's past and situation get reveal during the manga. Simply put, im male and i love her, she's hot, and she's cool, but often shows a softer and weaker side of herself, making me love her all the more. Since alot of its about her, i cant say anymore really without spoiling things.

Kanede, well a cute tsundere more or less say it all. Just going from the Synopsis you know kouta helps save her, which ofcourse leads her to having feelings for him. From stuck up idol to blushing loli, the idol and Kouta's school crush, actually shows a bit of character devolpment, and for me was quite like-able.

Along with Chiaki, Natsuki's younger sister, the interaction between the characters, and some of the resulting ecchi situations they get themselves into provide plenty of entertainment and enjoyment for any rom-com fan, you'll love Natsuki, and Kanede, your only regret will be the end doesnt go on a bit more to show you what you want to happen. Then again just how often do anime or manga end in the way you wanted or your happy with, for any genre.

The entire concept of the manga is simple; the plot is simple, the characters are simple, and the artwork is simple. However, don't let that turn you away from this lighthearted and somewhat predictable series. In this case, the simplicity is good, almost refreshing and combines for an overall enjoyable and heartwarming manga.

The story, like everything else, is simple. Kouta is your average 13 year old boy, nothing remarkable about him. His dad suddenly leaves because of work, leaving him alone for 6 months. On the same day, he meets a beautiful and eccentric 17 year old high school girl who suddenly decides to live with him. There is no real plot and the chapters are episodic and mostly focus on the progressing love triangle (or even square) between Kouta, the middle school "idol" , the female lead Natsuki, and even Natsuki's younger sister.

Art: 7/10
Not much to say here, the artwork is decent but simple. It won't amaze you but it's not bad either. Just simple.

Characters: 8/10
Like everything else so far in the series, the characters are fairly simple. The one exception is Natsuki. She is very eccentric and quirky and is a big reason why the manga is so enjoyable.

Enjoyment: 10/10

I thoroughly enjoyed the series. In case you didn't notice, the main focus throughout this review is the manga's simplicity. The series has a very lighthearted but bittersweet feel to it, which is only magnified by the happy but somewhat melancholy ending. The two things that could have made the manga a lot better is if the artwork was a little flashier and if the relationships between the characters (especially Natsuki and Kouta) were developed a little more. This is one of those rare series where everything is so simple it turns out to be a great and refreshing read.

Ane Doki is a lot different from the most ''I have my first love, but how can it work out?!'' mangas.

Ane Doki is about a boy named Kouta who used to live with his father who left him alone in a weird way, to work outside the city. Earlier he met with a high school girl who at first just wanted his Ice cream.
His father left him and the High School girl, Natsuki, pops up, wanting to do a favor back. And so she decides by herself to be his maid and will be living in his house.
Natsuki always do things on her way and that gives Kouta pervy thoughts. But Natsuki stays doing things on her way and even goes to his school just to bring him a bento.
What goes wrong, ofcourse. The boys at his school can't forget about her and are getting jealous at Kouta for being so close with her. But there is one person Kouta likes at school, Sakurai, the most popular girl on school.
After he saved Sakurai once from 3 guys, she falls in love with him and can't stand Natsuki, who also tries to get Sakurai and Kouta closer.
Things are getting more complicated when Natsuki's younger sister found them and also decided to live with them until Natsuki wants to go home.
Later on Kouta doesn't think about Sakurai in the same way as she thinks of him, but he started to fall for Natsuki.

A short ecchi - romance manga, nothing new probably nothing original (can't tell haven't read that much manga), even the character types you can probably find elsewhere but in spite all that its still damn enjoyable to read. For one, i actually like the fact that it was short, because it was well executed. When i started reading this manga i would read the odd chapter everytime i got the chance, as the story progress however i got hooked and eventually ending up devouring the second half of the series and am now writing a review for it 4am in the morning . But i digress, in short, the art is good the story is good characters are really likeable, especially Natsuki ( personally taste) and im actaully glad i found and read this manga. Overall the manga is funny, light , a tad serious when it needs to be , predictable but overall really enjoyable.

To be honest, it took me a while to get really into this manga. Probably because it's a bit like a harem, and I find it hard to enjoy those. Right from the get-go there is fan service, and that's basically what the first half is. It's not necessarily tasteful either, but even as a girl I could tolerate it.

Then about halfway through, you start to be able to get more involved in the storyline (although it is cliche) and characters. I honestly do like every single main character in this series, which is a new experience for me! The only thing that was saddening was the fact that you don't get to see their full development, besides Kouta's.

The ending was a little abrupt for me as well. Not perfect, but definitely not the worst - and it brought out a few emotions from me as well.

All in all, this manga probably makes it to the top middle in my manga favorites. The art is great, the girls are cute, and for once, the main guy actually develops and isn't a total perv (too bad he's only 13). I would suggest this manga to anyone who is bored, doesn't mind a fair amount of fan-service, and likes a romance, even if it is a little predictable.

This is my first manga review and honestly one of my first manga... so apologises if this is structure odd or something.

Story - I won't go into detail here but I loved it.

Art - I don't think I've read enough manga to the point in which the artwork bothers me - but this artwork seemed good here - I am not sure what everyone else may expect, but I thought it was good!

Characters - I loved some characters, some others were perhaps not as engaging or interesting... but Natsuki is by far one of my favourite characters so far! I found Kouta a little unlikable at the start but towards the end I started to feel empathy towards him and I suppose that character development is what the series is about. Chiaki was also an interesting character, Kanade... not as much.

Enjoyment - i maybe biased but as I was reading this on the way to and from work and before bed, I somehow enjoyed this a lot lot more than I thought - gave me something to look forward to!

Overall - I loved it, not a lot more i can say

Ane Doki is a simple, and somewhat predictable, manga. If you read the synopsis, you will know very well what you are getting into: a light comedy with a bit of ecchi and a generic premise. If you don't like generic manga, ecchi, simple characters, or love triangles, I would still recommend Ane Doki. Sure, it's clearly aimed at the fans of typical shounen romantic comedy mangas, but that doesn't mean someone "outside the circle" won't enjoy it. By the way, enjoyment is by far the most important aspect in Ane Doki, so you shouldn't expect or think about it too much.

Why is Ane Doki so enjoyable? Let's start with the story: like in many mangas of the genre, there isn't really a main plot. The chapters are quite episodic — with very few plot development —, focusing more on the characters and their relationships. As it was already stated, the premise is generic and the development is predictable. The situations aren't very original either, since many of them can be seen in other works. What saves the story, though it doesn't make it less mediocre, is the way it's told.

The author doesn't try to put fancy plot devices or crazy twists to make the manga popular. Instead, she tries to handle the story as simply and naturally as possible, wich turns out to be a very good decision. In result, the story is completely captivating. The reader will find himself wishing that the protagonist chooses Girl A, or maybe Girl B, wondering about that other girl's mistery and making guesses about how the relationships will progress.

If the story can't captivate the reader, the art doesn't help a lot. The character designs are simple — without many defining features —, the minor characters couldn't be more common and the backgrounds are normally left aside or drawn in a very simplistic manner. Even so, you can't say that the art is bad, since the visual as a whole is quite delightful and the characters' looks match their personalities well.

The characters are simple. Really simple. Their personalities are already known by ecchi fans, their actions are predictable and the single person the female characters have a romantic interest in is the protagonist. Again, the author doesn't botter thinking of deep, complex characters. She shows that she can handle these types of characters (a protagonist who doesn't know who he likes, a girl that is like an older sister, but turns out to be something else etc) and isn't afraid of clichés. Since the reader already knows these characters, it's easier to sympathize with them.

With characters easy to see through, fitting character designs, a delightfull visual and a generic, but captivating, story, Ane Doki is truly a feast for those with simple tastes. Again, you should read it without too much expectation or thinking. In the end, that's the manga's purpose: to entertain, without appellation, anyone willing to read it. The only real issue is the conclusion: it seems too rushed and the reader can't help but wonder what could happen if the manga hadn't been canceled. If you can overcome that, Ane Doki should be a good way to spend time.

The reason I read this manga is that it’s made by one of my favorite manga author~ and its only 26 chapter long~


Story:
The things that happened in the first chapter is so sudden~ Basically a very beautiful and mysterious High school girl named Hagiwara Natsuki suddenly intrude a Middle school boy named Ochiai Kouta's house asking him to let her stay there~ The plot use is a basic one so expect it to be predictable in some point of the story~ but I still like the concept of a middle school boy and a high school girl living under one roof, it makes me feel envious (T_T). The manga is 26 chapters only so the story is going on a fast pace but even with that you can still grab the things that happening in the story~ and she gave a good cliffhangers too~ The truth is I’m not satisfied with that kind of ending, it’s been used many times already. I wish she end it in a more romantic way.


Art:
Like I said above that this is drawn by my favorite manga author and that’s because of reason that all the girls she draws are super hot and pretty~ I mean it~ every small detail about them~ the hair, the eyes, the lips, their body proportion~ everything, for me it perfect, and more importantly they're wearing a school uniform~ it multiplies the girls charm 2 times... no three times (damn make it 4!) as I red from Futari ecchi school uniforms are symbol of Youth and Innocence (Vol. 11 chapter 101). so that’s why i love high school romance XD. oh and thx for those great fan service scene~ really love it~ Specially all of those front cover artwork~ hehe


Character:
Ochiai Kouta, a middle school boy who is quite shy, innocent and kind of a pervert sometimes ( Kouta : No, I’m not! grr) yes you are!~ He's living under the same roof with that beautiful girl so it can’t be helped. I praised him as well for holding back hehe~
Hagiwara Natsuki, a high school girl who is 4 years older than Kouta, pretty, good in household work and cooking (damn, I really envy you Kouta). I wonder if it’s really her character that she loves to tease Kouta. She volunteered to live together with Kouta and be his Maid (argh! can’t take this anymore!)
Sakurai Kanade, another cute girl, Kouta's classmate and the class idol. If there’s a word to describe her personality that should be the word "Tsundere", well her hair style is twin tail too.
Hagiwara Chiaki, Natsuki's little sister. She appeared in the story to take her big sister back home, but she end up staying in Kouta's house too. Unlike her big sister, she sucks in all kinds of household work.


Enjoyment:
I think Kouta enjoy his position in this story XD... As for me, I'm just envious~ Honestly, if u like story about love-comedy you'll gonna enjoy reading this manga, ohh and theres a lot of pantsu shots too so enjoy! :D

Here we have Kouta, a normal male middle schooler, who lives, or would live alone, if it wasn’t for Natsuki, a female high schooler, who now lives with Kouta. Natsuki claims that she is taking care of Kouta in the place of his dad who suddenly got transfered away to Sapporo, yet in reality things are quite different. It seems like Kouta is taking care of Natsuki just as much she takes care of him.

Kouta has a serious personality which always gets caught up with Natsuki’s pace. This is what makes the story charming: The way Kouta always gets toyed with by Natsuki while she also teaches him about life like an older sister. She teaches him how to become a man. Mentally, because he is still only in middle school. But his found new manliness attracts the girl whom he had a crush on creating some sort of love triangle.

This manga is ecchi and should be treated as such. Panty shots and the like pop up often. However, this manga is also more than just an ecchi manga. It has deep meaning hidden between the outer show of ecchi. This manga is about growing up, about a love that shouldn’t happen, and the strength of the bonds that hold people together. Perhaps I am reading into things too much, but I honestly feel that this manga is more than just a series of panty shots. This manga has meaning and actually I learned some things from this manga. There is a Chapter 26.5 which demonstrates the real ending. Highly recommended. Besides, this manga is hilarious.

If you want something to read after those awaited manga series to come out with the chapter, or after you ended a favorite manga. This manga might be good.

What have we here? The story of your neighbourhood shota. Kou-chan is the 13 year old schoolboy all the best-looking girls want. But it's Natsuki, the four years older beauty that we care about the most.

Ane Doki! is quite predictable. Most of the cliches of the genre you can think of, are there. Kouta, our protagonist, is a pre-teen who's completely clueless when it comes to his feelings, as well as those of others. Natsuki, our sexy female lead, randomly decides to devote her life to serving this kid. The convenient absence of parents? It's here, times two. The occasional clumsiness that leads to erotic sights can't be missing. And since there's a girl moving in to a boy's house, of course another girl will decide to move in, to "keep an eye on them". Check.

The twist here is supposed to be the age gap between the two; a point of interest should be the moment Kouta's cute classmate starts having feelings for him. Thing is, the dilemma "sexy versus cute" is actually non-existent. The role of alternative love interests is demoted to people that exist merely to help Kouta realise he's fallen for the older hottie.

The characters are visually attractive and nicely drawn. We get a whole lot of fanservice like girls in their underwear or accidental groping, but nothing too extreme. In fact, there is but a single kiss throughout this manga. While Kouta's feelings for Natsuki do delevop, and we get some interesting insight on his thoughts and expectations, Natsuki remains the girl who happily helps and praises him the whole time, something rather shallow.

With only 26 chapters, Ane Doki! remains interesting. That is, if you want to live out the honorable fantasy of the boy who aims for the older, ridiculously hot girl.

I have just finished reading this manga, and to tell you frankly this is my first manga review, so pls bear with me. Ok, so this manga only has 3 chapters and it is only now that I’ve read it via internet, so how do I rate this?


Story-good 7.

When I say “Good” what I mean is that this manga is unique, co’z it is not always that a manga like this would have a “Sotacon” romance in it - you know…. mature chiquita (female lead) to younger muchacho (male lead). This is also among the few were the parent (and I mean parent, co’z only the father is present) of the muchacho actually knew that his nino (male child and I’m referring to the male lead) is under the care of a total stranger which happens to be the chiquita. Also, this one of those manga were it is the muchacho who get’s a lot of sexual advances from a chiquita. Though this manga has a harem genre, it cannot be classified as a true harem, rather it is more like a love triangle, co’z the rivalry for the muchacho’s heart is between the matured chiquita {her hermana (younger sister) is not included} and a younger chiquita , who happens to be the muchacho’s classmate. The ecchi combine with comedy genre is not bad, and I admit, I really like the camel toe that goes with every accidental panty shots of the chiquitas (female cast).


Art-good 7.

There is not much for me to say something about the art since this manga share the same illustrator that of Ichigo 100%. But, what makes it good, for me, is how the lead Chiquita is drawn. That’s because she resembles Aya of Ichigo 100% whom I’m very much attracted to………in an artistic way that is.



Characters- fair 6.

I said “fair” in the sense that there isn’t much information indicated in MAL about the characters, so a proper description of the characters should be in order:

Natsuki Hagiwara- she beautiful, voluptuous, tough, smart and thoughtful, in this manga she’s a total package which every guys would go for, but moreover she’s a tease. When it come to the choice of guys she goes for, she has hots for Kouta Ochiai who’s 4 years her junior. When she was introduce in manga, one would have an impression that she’s teasing the young muchacho. But, as it turns out the chiquita simply wants to ease the muchacho’s loneliness (despite of his protest) after she overheard the muchacho talking loudly at his daddy who’s in a hurry to go co’z of his so called assignment to some faraway place else……….or tying to away co’z he spend the company’s money in a night club. She quite a handful for the muchacho to handle, this is because aside from doing household chores she also teases the muchacho as well, but she also helps him when he has a problem and occasionally protects him from bullies, In MAL’s info it is indicated that she is a bit of a mystery , but as it turns out that she’s just not any kind of runaway, rather she came from a well do family, the reason for her running away is that her eldest sister is not only pestering her to be her lingerie model (since her eldest sister is a lingerie designer) but is also pimping her to be some dirty old rich man’s bitch in which she’s very reluctant, she has a younger sister who’s protective of her and also stayed with the muchacho so that she can keep a close eye on her.

Kouta Ochiai- he’s a 13 year old middle schooler who got tangled up with the Chiquita (female lead) after he gave her his ice cream (it’s the chiquita who ask for it), upon his rush to get away from the her teasing, he accidentally left his student book with his address in it , thus she was able to track him down and immediately move in with him the moment she finds out that he’s gonna be on his own, co’z his daddy is assigned somewhere else or is getting away for spending the company’s money at a night club. Despite of his protest for the chiquita’s moving in, treating him like a kid (and some occasional sexual advances from her and I do mean from “HER”), sleeping next to him and her teasing, he slowly and reluctantly accepted the fact that he can’t get rid of her very easily. In spite of it all, he never took advantage of her which would be the reason why the lead chiquita likes and respects him even more. At fist he has a crush on his class rep Kanade Sakurai, but as the manga chapters goes on he started to shift his attention towards the lead chiquita. Though he did dated the lead chiquita’s young hermana they both never develop any feelings for each other.

Kanade Sakurai- is the muchacho’s class rep, she the most popular girl in school where the muchacho is studying, though she already has feelings for the muchacho, her feeings for him intensify when the muchacho tried to protect her from a couple of bullies, but got beaten up himself instead, but the lead chiquita came by and kick their asses (the bullies) just in a nick of time. Also, she was saved again from drowing by the muchacho thanks to the inner tube which the lead chiquita provided (co’z the muchacho can’t swim) so that he can rescue her. At first she considers the lead chiquita as competition for the muchacho’s affections, but later on has given up when she finds out that the muchacho can’t get the lead chiquita out of his head.

Chaki Hagiwara- is the youngest and is protective of his sister Natsuki ( the lead Chiquita), she supports her sister’s (Natsuki, the lead chiquita) reluctance to be her eldest sister’s lingerie model and plans to pimp her (Natsuki) to some dirty old rich man so that she (Haruki the eldest sister) can get money out of it. However she doesn’t support her running away and staying with the muchacho and does her best to convince her to come home, later on she decided to stay with the muchacho as well to look after her, as info would put it, she’s not good in doing household chores, but is good in math and other science subjects which she volunteers to be the muchacho’s tutor in exchange for her to stay in the muchacho’s house.

Haruki Hagiwara- is the reason for the chiquita’s running away from home; she’s a lingerie designer and most of all a gold digger. She wanted his sister (Natsuki) to be her lingerie model, but the Chiquita refuses since most of her designs are just too kinky for her to handle. The last straw came when she wanted her (Natsuki) to be some dirty old rich man’s bitch, which lead her to runaway, info has it that both (Haruki and Natsuki) are good fighters. In the end Chaki was able to call their parents (whom had some certain connections with famous people) to find Haruki a better deal, thus leaving Natsuki alone to be with the muchacho.


Enjoyment- good 7.

I really enjoy this manga very much, the way the genres were delivered really makes it interesting to read, ok so, it is the ecchi thing has got me……somehow, but you know what really got me is uniqueness of the “Sotacon” romance were mature girl meets younger guy and the combination of the ecchi and comedy ( I think I've mentioned that already).

Overall – good 7.

This is a good manga to read, in fact it has a potential to be a good anime even if it’s only going to be a 12 episode short novel.

As you read in the synopsis, Ane Doki! is about a 13 year old boy named Kouta, who gives a high school girl some ice cream, is paid back the favor by her begin a caretaker of him while his dad is out on some business trip. And how he saves the class cutie Kanade. That is pretty much story.

Story: Ane Doki! is a fairly short typical ecchi/romance/comedy manga. There is practically no plot development. Each chapter is more like a short episode of things going on, but it is a pretty decent short read, though I do feel like that it could have been a little bit longer. Especially near the end I just felt like it was rush and I do wish that it was a bit longer. But as long you don't have too much expectation for this manga, it should be pretty decent short read. And also since it is an ecchi type, be aware of those panty shots, and "accidents" in each chapter.

Art: The artwork is fairly decent. Natsuki is a hot high school chick while Kouta is the typical guy like character. The backgrounds aren't that detailed. The art style is a somewhat an interesting, but balanced cross between realistic style and the cartoony big eyed cute girl manga style. The stock characters couldn't be more generic looking that you can't even remember what they look like. But I think it is pretty good because that just brings your attention to the main characters more.

Character: There might not be much plot development, but there is some character development in Kouta. At first Kouta is always being made fun of being a kid, and is treated like a kid even by Natsuki. Later he is told by Natsuki about what being an adult is like and he slowly starts to become one.

Enjoyment: I really liked this manga, it was pretty interesting. Even though there wasn't much plot development or character development, it was a pretty enjoyable short read that I would recommend. However as mentioned earlier, I did feel that the series had potential to be longer and that near the end it was a bit of a rush and one of those semi-satisfying ending. So don't expect much out of it. As long you don't have high expectation it is a pretty good short read, with you wondering whether it is girl A or girl B that will end up with him, or whatever might happen. well hope you enjoy!
