Remote

I did not like this manga, but I will tell you what its about. A shut in genius detective who never leaves his room, and needs someone to work the ground following his instructions over the cellphone. It doesn't matter how incompetent a police officer the person is either as they promote a meter maid who is completely useless as a cop.

The ecchi element is nice though. Lots of fan service and since its a seinen there is nudity and people don't just get cut, they lose arms and get torn in half sometimes.

I tried, I read until chapter 25, but I can't put up with the characters in this story anymore. The story itself is interesting, but the characters are unbelievably weak. I liked the story too, I tried solving a couple of the riddles myself in this one because they seemed interesting and I understood them, but dear god the protagonist is too painful to read about...

The story is good, the puzzles are logical, they give good reasons for most of what happens. I did feel like the stories were a little bit too convenient though... The detective was always in the right place at the right time, tying her to each of the cases before she was even part of the cases. Like mysteriously she just so happened to be meeting her friend at the spot where a clown murder was taking place, or she was having dinner at a cafe just as a bomb was about to go off.

When I say the characters are weak, I only mean the protagonist, Ayaki. Her partner Himuro actually has a personallity like mine. He's screaming at her "THERES MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO BE DOING, SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE IN 5 MINUTES" and shes breaking down crying saying she wants to treat the child who scraped his knee. Then she screams back at him "HOW CAN YOU BE SO COLD!!!"... I seriously want to punch her right now....

Although they kill the character Ayaki even more than she already was being killed with her personallity by treating her like a piece of "Incompetent hot ass". She gets her but slapped by her superior and no one complains or anything. She does almost nothing and if it wasn't for the fact that she mysteriously happens to be in the right place at the right time, then she would literally just be a hot piece of ass. I mean that as in she happens to be the person a serial killer is basing his killings off of and she finally realizes it after about 5 clues which ends up solving the case.

Overall if you don't mind characters like King Yuuri who refuses to shed blood in his kingdom under any circumstances from Kyo Kara Maoh, or the kid who tries to sell his girlfriend into being raped because he gets bullied from The Breaker then you might wanna try reading this. Although if your like me, you might pop a vein in the mean time.

In the beginning, the premise sounds pretty solid. For the most part, the mysteries are engaging. I always wanted to find out the who in the who-dun-it, and found that I could follow most of the clues presented. I also liked that it followed the story of a woman about to be married rather than a teen looking for a boyfriend, which was a refreshing change of pace.

I rated this so low however because the characters detract so much from it. They all seem one note: Kouzaburo is brooding and angry, the fiancee is a dolt with nookie on the mind, the police officers are incompetent and sexist. But mainly my problem was with the heroine Ayuki. She starts off as an incompetent character. Although they try to show her developing into a stronger, more confident woman they don't portray it very well. At the end of the story she comes off as a prat (and still pretty incompetent).

Overall, if you're really in the mood for a mystery manga, I would hesitate to suggest this one. There are probably far better ones worth your time.

Oh my god the art is sooo bad. Like, seriously. The amount of fanservice pointlessly shoehorned into this is incredibly laughable as well. The first case was fairly entertaining, and most of the ones after that were at least fun to read, but the clear problem with this series' approach to whodunit is that the author doesn't give the reader the tools to solve the mystery. Instead we have to rely on the male lead (you know, the low-rent "L" character) to feed us clues. Except for most of it he keeps his cards close to his chest.

I dunno. I say just go read Death Note instead. And even though I know in my heart of hearts that Death Note came later, I can't help but feel like Remote is a cheap imitation, minus the supernatural element.

Well... The last review for this was a long time ago, but I'm writing a review anyway.
This is manga is awesome in its mystery sense ( as people noted) but they seemed to have a problem with character development and (if you've read read it) the mc personality in general. Which is understandable, however... I don't fully understand the complaints. She begins working as a meter maid, and unexpectedly gets thrown into danger ( an excessive amount of it too ). Not everyone can be cool, calm, and collected while facing a blood painted clown. Though I say this, I do understand the fact that the mc is a whiner of sorts, but not exclusively bad ( can't really say that about a lot of manga )
Moving onto Himuro... his character really got me. ( that doesn't make this review biased... *cough* moving on! ) he had a STORY. I think thats what I really loved... He developed, in a good way, and things played out in the end.
TBH, I got this series on sale, not knowing what to expect, but I certainly wasn't disappointed. :)

I haven't finish reading this manga yet but still I want to write something about this. Currently I'm on the middle of the whole story, volume 5 and the next case that I'm going to read is about Assassin Bob. Anyway this manga have some similarities with Q.E.D where there is a brain and body on every case but to be honest I love Q.E.D more on this because Q.E.D sound logical for me in terms of solving crime while Remote are more on action instead on the story of the crime presented but still I recommend to manga for mystery crime genre. One of the things that make me enjoy reading is that the author incorporate some romantic thingy as the story progress about the situation of the main character with her fiance and his current boss in the police.

Remote was a very good read but the ending leaves one wondering about what happen and what could happen.Some enjoy the whole come up with your own ending but at times i just want them to tell me. Never the less just like every other good manga out there that has a good story line but at some point the author give up or something and comes up with a bad ending. But I still recommend this manga to any one who likes the whole police cases and romance put together. And it was fun trying to put the pieces together for some cases. I got some right at lest. (giggle) Oh I almost forgot the ecchi parts where very very nice even me being a girl thinks so. (giggle)
