Resumo
A deadly virus is spreading across mankind, turning humans into gruesome monsters known as "Kanshu." Yet no one knows of their existence, except for the organization called "F.L.A.G.," dedicated to hunting down and destroying the source of the infection. Its members possess extraordinary powers, capable of unleashing righteous fury on their enemies. One day, a cell phone message from a dead relative leads estranged youth Riku Amami unwittingly into the conflict between F.L.A.G. and Kanshu—and to a mysterious cocoon that would change his life forever, for better or worse...

World Embryo review
I have to admit this show isn't for people with weak stomachs (because of the err....graphic....art) but it is a very interesting story is quite enjoyable. It keeps you on your feet and keeps you wanting more. The art can be slightly confusing (I'm not sure if I'm on a bad site or not) The characters are unique (Daisuke Moriyama is great at that) and it's funny how awkward Riku is. Neene is very cute and lovable. This show (In my opinion) is second only to Chrono Crusade (another Daisuke Moriyama manga/anime!) Overall, it is a great manga. I hope that one day, someone will
make it an anime, because it really deserves to be one. I strongly recommend it to people who like action and different (in a good way) story lines.

World Embryo review
I wanted to find some other mangas from Daisuke which are worth reading, and i found this one. You should give it a try if you like weird stories with interesting ideas, so i will get straight to the point.
[Story - 8] World Embryo has story which is intriguing as many things are happening. The appearance of Kanshu(demons), jinki users and the organization they work for, and embryo from which a little girl is born, and also the main character and the message he got on his cellphone from his dead relative, who got in all of this. Everything in the story is connected deeply, but the story itself has some twists which happen when you dont expect it and thats what it really makes it even more interesting. From the begining of the manga, Riku gets a picture on his mobile from his dead sister Amane with hospital behind her. When he goes to investigate he is attacked by Kanshu, mysterious beings which are transformed from humans after they hear strange cellphone sound. Riku is then saved by his old friend Youhei and his partner Rena, and finds a strange embryo. The next day though he doesnt remember anything except for the embryo, which he starts to keep. Eventually from the embryo girl Neene is born and he starts to remember everything that happened. After a short while they are attacked again and due to the serious wound he got from kanshu, Neene saves him by turning him into a kanshu which keeps his own mind. But many other things keep happening since nothing is normal again. *telling the rest would be a spoling so read it yourself to find out*. [Art - 9] Daisuke Moriyama is truly gifted artist which he showed in this manga as well. Its very well detailed in both characters and the backgrounds. There are some scenes and images which really left me impressed, especially the colorings on the special pages. Characters are well drawn and they really do have the similar style of his previous and current works. He draws battle scenes good enough so you can follow what is happening, and i love the use of blood, since where it is needed he draws it. I personally love bloody manga as it makes it more real then saying " is this guy even human when he is supposed to be"? [Character - 8] What impressed me are the characters in the whole story, they have strong connection and personalities. Though i still gave it an 8 because their backgrounds - pasts are just hinted and its more focused on them in present.[update: finally things are becoming clear and the characters have their pasts revealed, and i must say, in interesting way] The main character, Riku Amami, is specialized in telling lies, which makes the whole story even more interesting, because it makes him get out of bad situation easily. Though as we all know, lies can only bring harm afterwards. He learned that, hard way. Riku has deep connection with Neene, which makes him really protective over her, and wont allow anything to happen to her, which makes him ready to do anything to stay true his goal (i cant say it without spoiling so you need to find it yourself) and by doing that, obsessive. His whole character is complicated but its exactly what i loved. He is not either all goody goody, because he tends to use any means he can to protect himself and his dear people. Neene is a mysterious girl born from embryo which looks like Riku's dead relative. Neene is not a human, as you can see hear ears for example. She calls Riku Papa and Rena Mama which is really cute. She also grows faster than any human making her more like riku's relative. But by the time she gets protective, smarter, and has a caring and funny personalities. She dislikes fights, especially when her mom and dad are fighting. Rena is usually quiet and serious girl who tends to do her job properly, but really kind in heart. She almost never smilies but after meeting with Neene and Riku, she started to change and become a different, and more opened and friendly. Overall the characters in this manga can just surprise you. [Enjoyment - 9] The whole setting of story and characters, also action scenes and everything else made this manga quite enjoyable and keeps your interest if you read it enough to make you go crazy XD. [Overall - 9] I just think if should be made into anime, that it would be even more better, as this manga deserves more love. And if that happens, it would surely make me and other fans of this manga happy. I still strongly recommend you to read. Enjoy! |
World Embryo review
Very good manga. One of the beat I have read so far and probably will be for quite some time. I have been waiting for the chapters to come out everytime and I'm busting to read the next one ASAP once it comes out. (I even check every week to make sure)
Hope others will read it and hope once the anime comes out that you will watch it too. The characters can get anbnoying at time but jump back afterwards The art in the area of this manga is very good, well to me that is. The blood graphics are the best I'll ever see and are a great way to teach yourself about the different way of the effects of blood and that sort of thing The story doesn't make much scene at the beginning of the story but once you make your was through it, you get the whole idea of everything going on around the characters. Off the edge of my seat when reading each chapter. A annoying wait for the next chapter to continue on with the story and to read what will happen next I so recommend it to others out there |
World Embryo review
This is a manga that really just loves to pull on your heartstrings. There are few truly evil characters, a majority of the cast has a somewhat tragic backstory, the main cast goes through a shit ton of pain and suffering... it's the usual stuff. Though good for me, the usual stuff is written very well, outside of the incredibly convoluted plot that loses all sense of grounding by the end, like 80% of the battle manga I've read in recent days. It's what keeps this manga at a score of 8 instead of a 9, but it wraps up nicely at the end, no
character feels underused, and I didn't hate the protag this time, so I'm willing to look over most of it. The art is pretty good as well.

World Embryo review
I have only recently started reading this manga (i've never watched it) and i have already finished the published chapter.. still waiting for new ones.
i am not gonna right any spoilers because it might ruin your enjoyment. i really like this manga. The art is really great and almost perfect and the story is really interesting, i have have never read a manga so sad before. This manga is full of sadness, despair, lies, distrust, suspicions, unfairness in life etc... but it's the sad parts what make this manga so great. Even though the actual story is not realistic, the situations are similar to real life. Like when some of the characters died, i seriously cried... i gotta admit that this manga is pretty awesome and sad at the same time! some of the characters are really easy to attach yourself to and you'll really want to know what happens to them. The character development is excellent and Nenee makes the story more interesting! Definitely worth a shot! |
