Time Paradox Ghost Writer review

Do you ever feel like you've already read every good manga series? You search and search for something fresh and exciting, yet you seem to run into the same overused isekai, harem or shounen manga.

Well look no further because your new favorite shounen is here! I don’t mean to quote Josuke Higashikata but after reading the oneshot I felt like it was “new year's morning after I just put on a fresh pair of underwear.”

Time Paradox Ghost Writer is a manga which focuses on an up and coming mangaka named Teppei Sasaki who has failed numerous attempts at making his pro debut in the shounen jump magazine. He is both a very likeable and relatable character who is not without flaws. Which make him far more interesting and lifelike, helping to both endear him to the reader and provide a means for character growth as the series progresses.

The art style is also of near impeccable quality, in a style somewhat reminiscent of Bakuman. It has been digitally made so the lines are both crisp and clear, along with vividly shaded colour pages which grab the reader's attention and help to pull them into the story. In terms of character designs they are nothing exceptional yet are extremely pleasant to look at. The main character has a generic harem protagonist look with black hair and a face which reminds me of a Raku Ichijou from Nisekoi. Whilst the female lead looks like a thicker version of the main girl from 118282. She is drawn to be exceedingly cute with the airs of a shy genius around her. The background art is also quite well drawn blending seamlessly with the characters and creating a great ambiance to the series.

Moving onto the story, it can be said the concept is a mishmash between the time travel and slice of life genres. Creating a truly unique concept which instantly draws the reader in and leaves many questions yet to be answered making you wait with anticipation for the next chapter. Currently this story is also one which is hard to predict and one which could go in several possible directions. Either focusing more on the mangaka aspect or time travel aspect of the series though I hope it is the latter.

Time travel can be a difficult topic for many authors to tackle but if the mangaka continues this manga with its stream of consistent quality I see no reason as to why it wouldn’t go down as another sensational shounen jump manga.

Solid 9/10

Shuriken to Pleats review
Honestly it's a very simple story however it's original and i really enjoyed reading it. I read both in about 4 hours and that's because i had to do some things in between so don't expect a long read out of these (i do tend to read fast tho so it might be a bit longer than that).

As the main character Mikage has quite a small but nice character development which makes you feel really happy for her as you slowly start seeing her smile here and there. Very wholesome! Also the adults in the story (both her master and her "second master") are really only looking out for her wellbeing almost like two father figures. I really liked how they just stayed nice throughout as Mikage has had enough trouble already in her youth, she doesn't need any more from people she trusts...

Also her character makes sense? like since she was young she has been trained to become a ninja, now i can't imagine that it's good for a child to be trained to kill without going to school and seeing friends (the trained to kill part can't be good in general but well...). However her underlying innocence which can be seen throughout the story really makes sense, she's still young, how could she not have feelings. So i think that her character really has been properly thought out!

I really liked how the story was mostly focussed on the characters rather than following a complicated storyline, the manga only has 2 volumes so that would've been too short to do that justice anyway. But with the space that has been given to the story it was really laid out nicely.

Lastly the art of the manga was really good, it wasn't confusing and i really like the style in which the characters are drawn.

All in all, it's not a masterpiece but something that i will read again as i very much enjoyed it!

Each chapter contains a different story, some loosely related with characters recycled as side characters.
I think this is a manga that people should give a chance. This manga is about prostitution, quite the sensitive topic, and something that is often brushed under the rug and looked down upon. As to how realistic the stories are, i cannot say, however it does open my eyes a bit.

The art had been pretty average, its obviously shoujo and i like that it is not too explict, keeping in the line between smut and hentai (in my definition)

The characters seems well enough deveolped for single chapter characters, enough is said about them and they have enough character to form a short story. I didnt hate any of them however i canoot agree with chapter 6 character the most

I enjoyed the manga, because it was real enough to buy. It doesnt romanticize the idea of being a prostitute, the characters for the most part, arent proud of what they are doing and it shows that heavy consequences can occur. However i am a bit upset that most of them have a somewhat happy ending. As much as you wish for a happy ending to occur, i dont think it works that way in real life, of course i want them all real or fictional, to gain happiness however the worl does not work that way. Chapter 1&6 i liked the most because they seem the most real (though as much as i try i cannot agree with their reason)

Overall i would give the manga a 7.8 i think its a manga people should experience but i understand it is not everyone's cup of tea.

I actually didn't know this was shounen-ai when I started reading it, so I was surprised when the story went in the direction it did. Even so, as a person who doesn't usually read this type of manga, I found it to be fairly pleasant, if not perfect.
Now the story is pretty much as the synopsis implies, our main character Migiwa asks out Ren, who he believes to be a girl, only to find out he's a guy. What the synopsis does not include is how Ren, with help from his loving sister and boyfriend, learns to accept his gender identity. Without spoiling anything, the story is about his attempt to come to terms with himself and how he feels more than anything else, and I found it fairly pleasant overall, if somewhat one-dimensional and a tad rushed. I feel they had more opportunities to explore the challenges transgender people face in reality, but at least they addressed the topic.
The art is standard, very reminiscent of some yuri I've read in all honesty. It was pleasant to look at but nothing that'll win awards any time soon. The characters all look very feminine and I think that's what the author was going for.
The characters themselves are a bit flat and archetypal, but in a story with just 6 chapters, what really can you expect? Although I do commend the somewhat taboo topic of transgenderism that takes a central role in both Ren and his sister, it makes for a different type of manga.
Overall, I enjoyed this manga for what it was worth. I didn't really expect what I got but I didn't leave disappointed by any means. Although a 5/10 may look harsh, I actually tend to give lower scores on manga than many people, so I really don't give that number with negative connotation. Was it perfect? No, but it's an interesting read, even if you're not into shounen-ai like me.

So I just picked this manga out on a whim and I'm glad I did because it was a pretty entertaining read.
Story: 5
Story wise it had no plot because it's just a high school slice of life, just a group of girls and boys doing weird things, and talking about weird things. It has slightly relatable moments, and very random humor, which is refreshing to see because it's not the "omg I'm so random" humor of a twelve year old kid with ADHD, but a slightly distasteful random humor that catches you slightly off guard. The characters are relatable in the fact that they are going through puberty and such they are still discovering their bodies, though they were probably more open with talking about their bodies than normal people, but the manga reminds me of Oshiete Galko-Chan, where they both ask questions that a lot of teens wonder.
Art: 7
The art of the manga was great, though my only gripe was how comfortable the artist was with drawing characters naked, there would be a normal panel and then BAM, a dudes ass in your face. Though that does add to the catching you off guard humor that the story provides.
Characters: 10
The characters make the story for me, and they are very relatable, some are extremely perverted, some are just extremely curious, and then there is 2 normal characters in the manga, a boy and a girl, and they just make the comedy slightly more entertaining.
Enjoyment: 10
Through out reading the manga I died laughing, though the humor isn't extremely funny, it caught me off guard and I kinda just bursted into laughter. I loved this manga a lot, and my only dislike was the fact that it only has 15 chapters.
Overall: 8

TL;DR: For the most parts, a typical happy-go-lucky romance manga. Fast paced. As of writing this, I could only find 10 out of the existing 12 characters translated, and it ends with a cliffhanger.

Story; 6/10
It's nothing special. Boy meets girl, they fall in love with eachother, they start dating. No special circumstances, neither of them is an outcast, super popular or whatever.
The whole story revolves about their development as a couple. What I liked about it was that it did not focus too strongly on either love-rivalry or misunderstandings. While both of those things happen, it does so in a reasonable manner. Another nice thing to point out is that their issues they are facing originate from not just one of the two.

Art: 9/10
I liked the art alot. Again nothing extraordinary, but the typical shoujo romance art style. It's cute.

Character: 8/10
Might sound weird but.. I liked the characters for how plain they are, or seem to be. Manga manga try to give the characters some fancy backstory or character traits and giving them some depth through that - which is fine, but makes them also less relatable. The two main characters in this story are absolutely ordinary, but still enjoyable in my opinion.

Overall: 7/10
If you like the happy-go-lucky, fluffy fuzzy kind of shoujo romances, while still being able to stand at least a bit of drama, then this might be a decent read for you. Since it's relatively short and fast paced, might as well give it a try.

Yari no Yuusha no Yarinaoshi review
This manga is a spin-off of the parent story Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, focusing instead on the adventures of the spear hero which occurs at some point in the main story. As such, this story to a certain extent requires some prior knowledge on the parent story otherwise it could be a confusing mess. Whilst the manga does try to explain things to the reader in case they have never read the parent story, the experience fall short without prior knowledge.

As this is a spin-off of a future event in the parent story (Or at least it's in the Webnovel version of the parent story; and since the Light Novel version and Webnovel version diverge from the Cal Mira island arc I do not know how this Spin-off will fit in), it may potentially spoil some events of the parent story. Whilst the effect is minor, it may be better to read this manga after finishing the parent story.

(Contains very minor spoilers)

The story of this spin-off itself isn't spectacular. It follows the spear hero Motoyasu Kitamura, who has gained the ability to turn back time with a special spear and returns to the beginning of their adventure. Him, knowing the future events takes action to change the future. However, due to the events of the events of the parent story Motoyasu has become a broken man, slightly psychologically unstable in a sense, something this manga doesn't portray well enough. As such, his memories are a little messed up (also due to the time travelling, as shown in the manga). As a result he doesn't take the best course of action or find solutions to problems using wisdom and knowledge of the future like other time-travelling/new game/restart stories like Re:Zero, All You Need Is Kill, Steins;Gate etc. Instead he acts very spontaneously like a madman, which may annoy many readers. In the Webnovel, him acting like a madman was actually fun to see to a certain extent, something this manga failed to replicate. Motoyasu also kept his abilities from the future, making him stronger than most people in this manga. However the way the manga shows his power is not satisfying enough. Though understandably, Motoyasu does not care about his powers at this point due to him becoming mad. As you read the manga you start to understand more about the conditions and the situation he is in, such as why he is back in time, the conditions of the reset etc.

The art is alright, but not better than the parent story. As for character development there is next to none and would require the reader to already have sufficient knowledge on the characters (The manga only explains the bare minimum about these characters). Whilst not an exceptional spin-off it is still something fans of the original series would enjoy.
