Akatsuki no Yona

So basic premise is a princess - Yona - on her 16th birthday witnesses her cousin/childhood friend/crush - Soo-Won - kill her father/the king and so runs away into the night with her other childhood friend and loyal bodyguard - Hak. From there she decides what to do and chooses to seek out the legendary four dragons and also picks up a genius pretty boy along the way to ensuing adventures!

Now imma tell ya’ll right now that this is my absolute favourite manga out there and even the anime isn’t half-bad and is a good way to jump into the manga. There’s adventure and mystical/fantasy/magic elements that get introduced piece by piece in a way that you can’t know how it’ll all work together. Mizuho Kusanagi is quite masterful in how she has constructed this story, built up this world and the mythology surrounding it, but still manages to make things flow, even after several years of serialisation. Often stories can get lost through time.

It’s also supposed to be shoujo, but it really doesn't read like a typical shoujo books. That said, the romance element of the series has been one of the most well constructed build-ups I've read in a series. There's no rush, and the relationship is one of mutual trust and appreciation, but also utter dumbassery because both main leads are idiot fools in love. Like only the best love stories are...

The mangaka is so clever in how she develops characters and treats basically every main “villain” or “antagonist” as grey because there’s always a backstory. Particularly the main antagonist - Soo-Won. And also the way she develops the relationships between the main cast - the Happy Hungry Bunch (inside joke) - is a gradual building of trust and love through various sweet and VERY PAINFUL storylines, while making it witty, charming and exciting to behold. I could go on but this is just an amazing series and Kusanagi-sensei knows how to rile up a crowd.

Really good, definitely give it a read. At this time, it's ongoing and a really good point in the story (ch 191-ish??) to binge-up to, so we can all experience the wild ride!

after watching the anime, i had the strong desire to read the manga.

Akatsuki no yona was my first managa i've ever read and i'm honestly so in love with it.

The author's way of story telling is very captivating that you can't help but stay up late reading the manga hoping that the chapters wouldn't end.

The plot is not your typical damsal in distress princess who relies on those around her but she ends up growing stronger and more dependent on herself in order to achieve her right to freedom.

The romance in the story is refreshing as it occurs naturally and you can see a strong between two friends flourish into a romantic one. their love and care for each other leaves readers wanting more!

And the substories suits the main plot perfectly. They're all connected in a way and ties up all the characters and events amicably. They're just as captivating and entertaining as the main plot.

The characters in Akatsuki no Yona all diverse in personalities and it is easy to pick a favorite but due to their wonderful personalities and admirable bond, one can't help but to like all of the characters.

I think that Akatsuki no Yona had one of the best character developments i've ever read with Taejun. (spoilers) Going from a selfish man who was blindly in love with Yona to a man who cared about his kingdom and helped the poor survive and revive their crops was admirable.

And i just LOVE the female friendship in the manga? Even if they were enemies they were still civil with each other and you don't really see that that often. There are no women being pit against each other and there are no unnecessary jealousy or petty behavior.

I strongly recommend Akatsuki no Yona for new manga readers, like me, and for those who are a fan of historical drama and strong female leads.

I was desperately searching for a Manga that can catch my breath and move my little fangirl heart in an instant... and this is it! I love the depth of the story, the beautiful and strong princess Yona and her male warriors (I especially like Hak! He is just AWESOME!). The art is beautiful and some of the scenes (especially between Yona and Hak) are just breathtaking if you enjoy super sweet moments. And it contains hilariously funny scenes... Read the first five chapters and you'll love it !

Story: the story is well written. There's enough lore for you to want to still read, but not get overwhelmed. It takes a bit of imagination but once you devote yourself to it, it's a really fun story to get into. Sure, there's lots of love and stuff, but hey, I have a guilty pleasure. At first I was worried it would be some weird reverse harem, but I was thankful it didn't go in that direction (don't think that's a spoiler). My one problem is that there are a lot of characters and sometimes it's difficult to remember who is who.

Art: Very good. Simple, not over drawn. Very shoujo tbh. But I can get past it. At least it's done well.

Character: For once, you're left wanting more of all of the characters. A lot of the story you are in the "now". There are chapters that dive back into characters history and it's exciting. You don't know how anyone is raised, and it's amazing to see how characters got to be who they are. Very interesting way to conduct a manga. I like it.

Enjoyment: The story can be slow at times, but overall it's a good story and I'm wondering how it's going to end... I don't know what will happen so I'm really looking forward to continuing this manga.

After watching the anime, I thought: This anime ended really awkwardly, but I really liked it. I wonder if there's more in the manga.
So, I ended up reading the manga.
This manga is outstanding.

Story: 10
The story about Yona and the others is truly amazing. It includes small details and is carefully planned out. When I started where the anime had ended it, it started to suck me in. It has many feelings, like happiness and sadness, and the plot is really just great. Sometimes there are small clues about what could happen, sometimes there are things that you just couldn't expect would happen at all. In chapter 111, the ending was so surprising, I needed to reread the last part to confirm what was actually happening. (this was all I could write so that I didn't spoil)

Art: 10
The artwork is brilliant. It gives off a bit of an older style type of drawing, but the detail in the art is really just beautiful, for example the jewelry and accessories. The detail drawn in the battles are also amazing when detail is put into it. The expressions drawn onto the characters' faces is also amazingly detailed.

Character: 10
While reading the manga, I realized that almost none of the characters in this manga are unlovable. They each have something that makes them unique. For example, Yona in the beginning, for me, was unbelievably annoying. But as the story went on, she became one of my favorite characters in the whole manga/anime. The character development in this story is outstanding. So many other mangas/animes don't have character development, and that's really annoying. The personalities of each of the characters are very well thought through. Even a random soldier possesses a unique personality.

Enjoyment: 10
I enjoyed this manga a lot, and I can't wait for the next chapter to come out! (at the moment that I am typing, the latest chapter is 111) The manga has a lot of action as well as some friendship and romance. Seeing the characters progress in their journey and the way they fight for peace is simply..... I can't find the words for this manga. It's a MUST READ.

I feel that Akatsuki no Yona is somewhat underrated. I think it's my favorite manga and that Kusanagi is something of a comedic genius, especially with the finer details and less overt jokes.

Akayona is so touching but also really funny and the female protagonist isn't a complete airhead. The character development is also great (if you re-read from the beginning after being up-to-date, this becomes more obvious).

The art style is also quite varied so you don't feel like everything and everyone looks the same.

However, I personally do not see Akayona as being very plot-focused (which I actually prefer because it seems more true-to-life). I think my only complaint is that I have to wait a month for each issue to come out (though I think this is normal for shoujo); the chapters always leave you wanting MORE.

Yona is a BADASS! It's not often I come across a female protagonist that I LOVE, so when it happens, I get super excited. And I'm SUPER EXCITED about Akatsuki no Yona. Before I go off on that, though, I want to point out that this is not your typical reverse harem. The romantic aspect of the story, while certainly present, is often cast to the side in favor of... you know... things that actually matter when you're living in a world struck with war, famine, and disease. It's really awesome, and I highly recommend this series to everyone, especially young women.

Okay, now I get to talk about Yona. Yonaaaaaa! The thing I love most about her is that, despite the heavy supernatural and fantasy elements in the story, her development feels so real. In the beginning, she's just a spoiled princess whose only concerns in life are her hair and her childhood crush. However, once she witnesses the death of her father and is driven from her home, her character just flourishes. At first she seems completely broken, as you would expect from a pampered girl. She experiences hunger, pain, betrayal, and hopelessness for the first time in her life, but from that she develops a strong urge to survive. She also learns to really appreciate the warmth of family and friendship that she'd always taken for granted in her sheltered life. As she travels around her country in search of the dragons, she sees the reality of her kingdom, which is totally at odds with the idealistic and peaceful vision of her father. Seeing more and more suffering, her will to survive slowly evolves into a will to see her people survive, and she works hard to make it happen to the best of her ability while living as a fugitive.

And here's the best part about Yona, the thing that really gets me fired up about her character. Despite her physical weakness (an inevitability with her upbringing, as her father despised violence), and despite her having numerous incredible warriors at her side, she works damn HARD not to be a damsel. And when I say she "works hard", I don't mean that she continuously whines about wanting to help more without actually doing anything, nor do I mean she develops some mystical powers out of nowhere, nor do I mean that she suddenly becomes an incredible warrior overnight. She trains rigorously with a sword and bow, and we get to see her labor reflected in her calloused hands and bruised body throughout the series. She REALLY works hard and ACTUALLY improves over time.

As for the other characters, they're all really well developed. Yona's companions are a bit "typed" at first glance, but they're far from flat. The main cast consists of Yona, our lovely, wonderful, bestest heroine; her childhood friend, Hak, who is also the leader of the Wind tribe and a renowned fighter; Yun, the self-proclaimed genius bishounen; and the four dragon warriors that Yona seeks out during the first few story arcs. The main group gets quite large by about 50 chapters in, but every character is distinct, they all develop unique relationships with one another, and they all have their own demons that they have to grapple with as they grow.

It's not just the main cast that shines, though. By the time I got to the most recent chapters, I found myself caring deeply about everyone, even the "villains" and minor characters. I really love how your perspective of the characters in each arc shift as you start to see new sides of people that you first thought were obviously "good" or "bad". Really, being able to create such dynamic and relateable characters for minor roles is, imo, a huge testament to Mizuho Kusanagi's incredible storytelling ability.

The story itself has a very "epic" quality to it. The pacing is pretty slow at times, especially in the beginning. The first few chapters, before things start to take a supernatural turn, feel like an entirely different story. But I think the slower pace is really a very good thing, as it allows plotlines to develop more naturally instead of feeling forced. It's hard to pin down a central theme for the story, both because it's still ongoing and because soooooo many different things are explored. There's really something for everyone, whether you're a fan of action, adventure, fantasy, romance, coming-of-age, or you just want something fresh to fall in love with.

Friendship, love, betrayal. First I started watching this in the anime form, I had no idea how enthralled I would be. I have now read fan translations of the manga up to chapter 125, preordered the licensed English translated volume 1, bought the part 1 DVD/blu Ray set, and am currently on my 2nd time rewatching the anime haha >.<. this manga is so poetic, and so much of the story is told simply through the character's eyes and facial expressions. I love the character development, and the way they all interact with one another. Mizuho Kusanagi has created such an interesting fantasy world. I have never* had a manga tickle my funny bone the way Akatsuki no Yona does. While reading this, I'll be balling my eyes out one second and then dying of laughter the next. Absolutely gorgeous artwork! Overall, Akatsuki no Yona is an incredibly wonderful manga filled with emotion and beauty. I reccommend it to any manga fan!

This is the manga that I dropped several times.

This manga got great potentials. It has nice plot story, nice character development, the tune is set to medieval era, has great romance possibilities, but all of them are wasted.

Story(4/10) : This manga is about a princess that got betrayed by the man she loved, got her dad(the king) killed, and then run away for her life. In the journey, she learned that her father is not a great king like she always imagine, and she wanted to do right, for her father. The plot itself is quite interesting, but the execution is horrible. The plot is toned to a serious and darker story, but the execution is set into a comedic style, with stupid plans and stubborn yona, putting herself in danger time and time again for little to no reason at all.

Art(5/10) : The art itself is not bad, it has nice shoujo artstyle, would give this a 8/10 if this is a fluffy shoujo manga. The problem is the art is not really compatible with the timeline. The time is set to medieval era, and the characters are sometimes in a serious problems, such as kidnapped, betrayed, etc. The situations can be expressed much, much better in other artstyle.

Character(2/10) : The characters, especially the four dragons, are drawn to yona, not because of yona's personality or strength, but because she is the one dragon king. Kija, a nobleman in his village, suddenly bowed to yona, because he felt the 'throb'. Before he met yona, he would throw out all the people that visited him. Jaeha cannot run from yona even if he wanted to, because of once again, the 'throb'. basically the characters are forced to stick with yona, because she is the one. I'll give this 1/10 for characters and dropped this long ago if not for Hak being there.

Enjoyment(2/10) : I can't bear to read this manga, it is so frustating. Every 2-3 chapters, I stopped reading this manga, and read another manga instead. I picked this manga, dropped this manga, read another manga and finished it, then picked this manga, and the cycle continues.

Akatsuki no Yona has great potentials, but most of them are wasted.

Mother fuckingggg Yonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. My absolute favorite Manga and Anime. Its so good and a masterpiece for the shoujo genre. Everything about this series is amazing, the action, the characters, the drama, the romance, absolutely everything. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh, and it will make you fall in love with every character. Its filled with strong women, each a perfect role model for anyone. Yona is the best manga and anime protagonist ever, especially for women. The character growth of Yona is outstanding, and I love her so much. The male characters are great and all prim husbando material. They are given depth and good strong backstories. They are so much fun, and while Yona takes up most of the character growth, everyone else feels very fleshed out. A must read for everyone!

Akatsuki no Yona is beautiful, diligent and even realistic but it is shallow and very generic. 24 long long chapter filled with insipid feeling, identical males and zero progress - that was my limit. You may tell me, “It’s a shoujo, what did you expect?”. Well, I don’t know, I guess I expected some pleasant surprise. Shoujo authors tend to write genuine, down-to-earth pieces but here it evolves into nothing but the Nadeko level story about poor little girl surrounded by noble handsome boys. What even worse is that backbone of the narration is not the thrill of adventure in form of elaborate substories but a cliche theme of friendship where main heroine plays oh so typical role of selfless idol of goodness disguised by tons of phony self-reproach. Mizuho Kusanagi at least could have inserted these templets into some form of action, or anything else that grabs attention, but no, Yona’s recruitment of males are the most boring friend acquisition I have ever seen.

I would be glad to pick up Akatsuki no Yona again… just tell me where the story actually starts.

This manga was promising at the beginning, and actually has quite an interesting plot. But to someone like me who is a big fan of romance, it wasn't my type.

I needed more romance and cute moments so I kept persevering through the chapters but by around chapter 25-30 and onwards I ended up skimming through the pages so quickly, some points I didn't even read the chapter just scrolled all the way through it to the next chapter.

The story is good. Nothing bad to say about it, although I did end up getting a little confused as to where it was going after they reached their goal of banding together all four dragons.

The art style is also not suited to my tastes. It JUST passes my "okay" tastes, and if the story were more my type than it would've been fine.

Characters were alright, no big issues.

Overall, I rated it a 5 because truly there wasn't anything bad about story, it just honestly (as I keep repeating) wasn't suited to my tastes. If you're someone who enjoys the "KYAAAA<3" moments, this isn't for you. If you enjoy the more fantasy, historical aspects with minimal romantic moments, then perhaps this may be something you enjoy.

*note - I did not read the first few chapters of this manga; I picked it up from where the anime left off, but from what I have heard, they are very similar*

I almost dropped this story when I first started it. Yona was an annoying, bratty cry-baby. NO thank you!!! However, I am really glad that I trusted the high ratings and kept with the story. In the end, Yona turned out to be one of my favorite characters of all time. I like a strong female lead, but I LOVE a strong female lead who had to work hard to overcome physical and emotional hardship. I appreciate that Yona didn't just magically transform into a bad-ass girl who earns the respect of other characters. She had to work for it, make difficult choices and sacrifices for it, and ithe manga dedicates a good amount of time to that change, so it didn't feel rushed or contrived.

The supporting characters all felt well-developed to me (sometimes I read mange with a really large cast like this one and have to think to myself "wait, who are you again"). Although the actions and motives of the characters change over time, there is a logical development behind those changes - the characters are growing, not just acting inconsistent. I especially like that the protagonist/antagonist groups are not "good" and "evil" - they are both shown to have good reasons for the actions that they take.

Overall, I felt emotionally attached to the characters, and loved the political backdrop of the story as well as the well-developed fantasy world in which it takes place.

Story:
- Though the introduction & plot of the story seems kind of boring and almost generic, as you read further into the manga you won't even consider it boring. It starts out with a weak princess, Yona, and while others won't even bother touching a manga with this type of female protagonist, surrounded by many other men of her own harem, Yona actually puts up a name for herself. Yona gets stronger overtime because of her own determination and will to, which I really give respects to her for. As the story progresses, the story introduces more characters that will accompany Yona and her bodyguard Hak, as they roam the lands of Kouka together. 9.5/10

Art:
- Mizuho Kusanagi certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to the art style with Akatsuki no Yona. She makes it so that the historical part of the series also ties into the art work with its abstract, marvelous designs with building structures, statues, clothing, etc. The art is interesting, and I really love how Mizuho will put in amazing designs in certain parts of the story that isn't necessary to the story at all. Mizuho is perfect for drawing details, no page in Akatsuki no Yona isn't beautifully done. 10/10

Characters:
- My favorite part about Akatsuki no Yona. The unique and different amount of characters there are in the manga! Each of the main characters have their backgrounds, and where they all came from. Everyone has different personalities, but they all have personalities to where you will just like them all. The character development for Yona is outstanding. Her journey from being a spoiled princess who always got anything she wanted to a more stronger person who works to get what they want and help the people in need around her is amazing. My favorite dragon is Hakuryuu, Kija, because I really love the comedy he brings into the group as well as his loving loyalty to Yona. Romance between Yona & Hak is very sweet too, why can't they just get married already ? Everyone has their own humor that I personally enjoy; the characters never bore me. 10/10

Enjoyment:
- It takes a lot for me to go ahead and read a manga, I would rather see things in color and sometimes reading and seeing black and white over and over again starts irritating my eyes. Even then, I highly enjoy Akatsuki no Yona. This is my favorite manga. This manga has never made me uninterested, I always loved how it can be very serious, the dialogue being very story heavy to a more light-hearted atmosphere in the next page. The transitions from serious to comedy is driven out very well, the jumps don't really feel so sudden, it felt like it was natural for it to be there. I love each and every one of the character's for a lot of different reasons, and a lot of different reasons because they have so much behind them. I liked, loved this manga for the art work, characters, meaning, how the characters interacted with each other, how the arcs were presented, just pretty much everything! I hope Akatsuki no Yona won't stop publishing for a few more years, and I also hope that the anime for Akatsuki no Yona will finish off excellently and someday receive a season two (by the time the anime ends, there will be a lot more stuff that didn't get animated, so pray for season two!) 10/10

- Overall, this manga is a 10/10 for me; if you are a person who is interested in the historical fantasy aspect in stories as well as romance, comedy, and action then this manga is practically calling out to you! Keep in mind though that this is a shoujo and a reverse harem, but don't let those two change your mind on possibly reading this. Every male in the reverse harem will make you like this series, and Yona herself, of course.

But i have the impression that the only reason this show is so popular is that a average not special girl is worshiped by lots of guys who are seen as very attractive by lots of woman
because yona is so generic lots of girls here can relate to her and thus can imagine that they could be saved and worshiped by young athletic bright handsome guys too

the most pathetic parts in the story are those who try to portray yona as a strong and independent woman
she is a princess, she is the dragon and so on
all things she is just born with
she gets protected all time by crazy strong guys
but yeah she is such a strong independent woman

this show is just a girlfantasy
"yeah i would like to be a princess, the chosen one, the dragon who is surounded by handsome strong guys who do everything i want without me having accomplished something by myself"

The story start is kind of fast, so it's easy to get hooked. From the beginning there are things happening. Story in general has lot of potential but in my opinion has a lot of flaws. One of them are politics. Author's handling of politics is mediocre at best. Lot of things about politics of whole manga doesn't make sense. This is hard to explain without spoilers so I can't dwell on it too much, but let's say that pretty much everything from succession, laws, government type, political structure, general audience (people, officials etc) reaction to political affairs etc are done fairly poor. I do understand what kind of manga this is, and I understand that it is bound to dwell more into interpersonal relationships and drama, but politics are integral part of it (manga starts with politics) so I think author should've handled this one better. For example the manga starts with coup, one character kills the king, Yona isn't the heir (but she is?), her husband is supposedly next king (well what kind of succession is that), she is chased from castle, the usurper proclaims himself a new king, gets coronated really fast, and you know what? No one gives a damn. Is it so easy to usurp the throne in this country? Beside all that, usurper (if succession was a common primogeniture) was supposed to be the next heir in the first place, since apparently succession isn't absolute primogeniture since Yona isn't heir (but still maybe she is?).

I also do not like character development of certain characters. Main character kind of start getting some major development, which then starts to diminish and author kind of neglects it for the sake of some other things. While on the other hand, some characters get some, let's call it 'undeserved' and 'unrealistic' development because of the way story is build up (which has some major flaws. I do not like the way author handles intepersonal stuff. Especially since latest chapter when Yona comes back to her home and is seeing her father's murderer always, but author makes it way too sympathetic toward the murdered to the point you can't help but feel bad for the whole plot up until latest arc. Main love is also too cringy even for teenage characters. Author builds their relationship in every other chapter, but doesn't build it at the same time, and kind of puts it on hold just to make people wait for them to start getting some "free time" again.

Beside that, I think that storytelling is also fairly mediocre. Story is interesting in beginning, and all the way to the a bit more than half of the manga, but then starts lacking. One of the reasons are repeatable situations in which main characters get themselves into. After that, actions of main characters later on kind of do not make sense, especially since the start of the latest arc. Author relies too much on interpersonal feeling, relationships, dram etc rather than making sense in many other essential parts of the whole plot. Author creates some mysterious things from past and makes people wait for their revelations, and also makes some interpersonal stuff that makes people wait for next chapters, but fails to make sense in other plot stuff (many other plot stuff).

It was hard to explain this without spoiling too much but I kind of tried. It would've been easier and you would understand my points better if I spoiled some more stuff, but whatever. In general, story can be enjoyable if you're mostly interested in interpersonal feelings, drama, relationships between characters etc and not care all that much if author makes sense of certain aspects of plot.

I've never been so devoted to a manga as this one. I'm even reading tumblr spoilers because i cant wait for next chapter T.T

Not only is the story amazing, I love the way you see the characters develop during the manga. Also the side stories are so touching and they always keep me in their gasp to the very last words.
The way the manga mixes history, mystics and comedy is truly making this a masterpiece. And than that touch of romance now and than LOVE IT.

The Heroine in the story is probably the best female character I've ever seen. She isn't the common everyday heroine who suddenly has all the power. She is badass in her own way and i love it

Fantasy. (it's a genre that not everyone likes, still in this story, it surprisingly makes sense)
These genres couldn't fit better on any other story than this one.
I'd recommend to those, who wanna laugh, who wanna see a true form of love, who wanna see graceful characters, who wanna know what bonding and affection is.
It's a complete package.
I started reading this manga after watching its anime because anime didn't have any proper ending, (& It bothered me 😂) I was so eager to know how HAK and Yona will end up, I started reading manga from Chapter 41. In 3 days I completed 190 chapters, it's so engaging and beautiful story!

My MOST FAVOURITE of all stories, AKATSUKI NO YONA.

HAK, Yona, the four dragons. I love all of them, because they've amazing personalities.. (I don't wanna introduce who they are, just know them through anime and then continue the story in manga. That's what I'll recommend)

I wanted to personally text this writer to tell her, how brilliant of a writer she is.

Not only is the characters' development amazing, the story and its events are just Too heroic, too emotional to handle.

There are so many scenes where I laughed, when dragons make jokes and enjoy with each other. There are so many scenes where HAK makes us skip a heartbeat by his unconditional love for Yona.

It's a MUST MUST MUST watch and read. Both

Here is my review of Akatsuki No Yona by Kusanagi Mizuho.

Story 9/10:
The story is very good. The first chapter is very gripping, and Kusanagi always leaves her chapters off on a cliff-hanger or a suspense scene. It's very well-written, there's some humor scenes, some tension, some romance and that's what made me like this manga. I still feel that the story could use a bit more movement in the love scenes... I mean, the main character's guardian, Hak, loves the main character but he's always reluctant to make movement for his own good...

Art 10/10:
Brillant. Beautiful. Detailed. I loved it and the art's a big 'yes' for me. This mangaka can draw anything. Big palaces, beautiful cities and of course, interesting characters. I don't even need to say that the art needs improvement. It's gorgeous.

Characters 9/10:
All the characters have distinct personalities. They all have their own story and it's understandable to see why they are like themselves or why they are doing certain things. All the supporting and main characters are indeed, very interesting. There are some characters I wish to see more of and know a bit more about and I do wish the main character becomes a bit more independent (not like she isn't already), which is why I hesitate to give a full score.

Enjoyment 9/10:
I personally find this manga enjoyable. I love love the ancient theme, the fantasy, the legend, the characters... Story does sometimes go off the main plot after chapter 60+, for some chapters which pulls 1 point off my enjoyment, which is why this section is a nine, but it's still brilliant and does make up and link up to the main plot.

Overall 9/10:
This series is amazing! If you're a fan of ancient-themed, romance, harem and fun characters, then this series is for you. It's gripping, suspenseful and enjoyable. I personally think this series is highly underrated and I do wish it was more popular for license in English.

Story 10/10
Akatsuki No Yona is about a sheltered princess who doesn't experience much from the outside world but one day, her peaceful life is shattered. In the beginning, it is a bit slow, trying to find the dragons' descendants, but wants it hits the 3rd dragon's arc, it is outstanding! The action-packed arcs that starts to happen after and in this arc, is like literally mind-blowing. Although the romance is a bit (ALOT) slow, there are moments where I fangirl over Hak and Yona(Yak, I think or Hona) my favorite OTP.

Art 9/10
The art in this manga is super pretty. There are some mangas where all the characters look the same but that's not the case in this one. Each character have unique characteristics that doesn't mix the characters up. Also the scenery that is drawn makes you really think, how in the world does the author draw this? Anyways, the art is very pretty in Akatsuki no Yona

Character 10/10
You end up falling in love with the characters in this manga. Especially, as you can tell, I love the character, Yona. Yona, sheltered princess, was more like calm and protected but her fierce mode is sooooooooooo freakin awesome like she's just personality and looks goal af. The guys in this manga are also very handsome, favorites would be Hak and Jae-ha. Each character have different kinds of personalities and looks.
