Five review
Having been transferring school constantly because of her parents, Hime is elated about her permanent new school. Things take a weird turn when she enters her classroom and finds there are no girls. It just so happens that classes are divided by grade rank and the schools top students are all males. No problem, she’ll adjust, her main objective is to make friends. And she does, she gets the attention of the schools most popular guy, Toshi and included in that package are his four friends. Friends are friends no matter what gender, Hime’s high school life begins now.
The story even though it’s told from Hime’s point of view it doesn’t slack on the rest of the characters and gives them all a chance in the spotlight. That was a nice twist from your average romantic stories. It doesn’t really follow any specific plot or set of guidelines, however, it flows really well in the everyday “normal” life of Hime and her Five friends. Even though the circumstances that they get into are highly exaggerated, it is extremely entertaining to read and see it unfolding. The romance is gradual, but it’ there. At the beginning you see but a hint of it and in small minuscule doses that seem transparent at times it starts to add up. The characters who’s role were small start getting their own light and making themselves shine. It isn’t a sad manga, not in the sense that it will make you bawl out and cry. It’s refreshing and funny. The only similarity I could find it’s calling it Ouran High School Host Club with an attitude. Asou has a unique voice, she is type of girl who with just one chapter showed she stands up for herself and won’t take attitude from anyone and that alone will make her a memorable heroine. Toshi is your average “bad boy” and is seen as a delinquent but hat isn’t the case, most of the time. The characters, all are friendly and rare. Even though it doesn’t follow the drama of villain vs. hero, they do go through ‘adventures’ and jump through their own metaphorical hurdles. There are so many diverse characters that there is one with every type of personality that the reader will more or less familiarize themselves with. The art was fresh and not your everyday style. The characters were all interesting and it shows through in the way they are drawn with their own characteristics. Though the constant licking of lips or tongue sticking out gets old fast it stops being the case a few chapters in. “Wherever we are, we are always under the same sky.” |

This story, in the beginning, wasn't all that interesting, I can admit. I passed by it a few times but, didn't stop to read it. Then after saying screw it, I finally did. I can honestly say that it was better than I expected. It is funny and romantic. It's more like a harem for the girl in it but, that's what makes it so good. It's a tight friendship and some crushes. I will definitely make you smile. The guys aren't all that cute in it but, it's still a good read.

I stumbled across this manga by chance, i was really really bored.
The art surprised me, since it wasnt something i was used to at first, but after awhile it starts to grow on you. And it wasn't like the artist was bad at drawing at all, it was just bolder than most mangas you'll read. The story, i have to admit was kind of predictable, but still it was interesting. The girl may not have much common sense in her, but it's kinda of what makes her, her. Even though the story is kind of predictable, some of the characters aren't. And it'll just amaze you of what the author/artist was actually planning. overall, I really enjoy this manga. p.s. this is my first review :P |

When I started reading this manga i hated it's drawing but story was very interesting and eventually I started to love drawing too. Characters are exceptional they all are cool and hot. personally i like Hina the most because she isn't asking for help all the time she does that she can to make her friends happy. Story: when you start to read this manga story can be a little bit boring but it's really romantic and funny. Art: as i already said i didn't like drawing to me it was ugly, but when you become familiar with it it's kind pretty. Enjoyment i
couldn't get enough of Five and now i can't wait for new chapters and i think everything is said by that :). So i think everyone who likes romantics and funny stories should try Five!

I loved it. Warning: This manga is not translated from the end of chapter 65 onward to 77 but there are blogs that talk about what happens, and it's a happy ending. Now I'll review:
I personally love the art, aside from the hands at times (the fingers can be a bit too long). It's unique, and it's refreshing. A lot of people critic the art, but as I like it I'm giving it a 9. Characters are great, the romance wasn't a instant love like most other manga out there, it was paced over the 77 chapters and the love confession doesn't come until almost the end of the manga. That said, the romance is still there in small bits, enough to make you get all excited when it does happen. And you know fairly early on who she'll end up with, like most manga out there. They could have been more developed, I would have loved to see the past of some more characters and get more in depth but honestly it wasn't a huge deal to me, it was a fun read. I enjoyed it a lot, I read it all in one sitting. |

One of the first manga I read, and eventually loved.
The story about Hina Asou moving to a new school and wanting to finally make girl friends, when she ends up in a class with only males. It's funny, nice art, cute plot, and you just gotta love Toshi. Only they stopped translating it so in Japan it finished while here we don't know what happened T.T You should read it! |
