Koe no Katachi review
East Asian schools are somewhat infamous for the teasing, ostracizing and sometimes inhuman oppression students can inflict on their fellow classmates. This is not to say that educational institutions across the world, from preschool to graduate, are exempt from bullying in some form or another. It’s a universal phenomenon that crops up wherever social order exists.

Those who are doing the bullying may not realize the extent of the damage they cause (“We’re just having fun”) or otherwise justify it through the abasement of their victims (“he’s so weird; she deserves it”).

Those at the receiving end often “demonize” their oppressors and curse the world and themselves.

Very rarely is a victim able to smile and take it quietly.

“Koe no Katachi” is a story that is unusually mature and respectful of reality. It acknowledges Guilt, not from simple misunderstandings and circumstances but from foolish, painful, irreversible mistakes that can’t be undone by a thousand apologies.

It explores painful knots that aren’t easy to untie, life as unpolished and horribly complicated. It acknowledges the reality of ugly faces, bloodshot eyes, and even pimples.

But it doesn’t stop there. Ishida Shouya, after deciding to commit suicide, reaches out to the one he made miserable and took so much away from... and finds that Nishimiya Shouko doesn’t forgive him. She denies there was anything to forgive in the first place. That deafness wasn’t the reason she was staying silent. It wasn’t because she was weak, but because she was strong.

An “I’m sorry,” doesn't go very far, but as for how far it goes, the guilty must cherish every millimeter, every little step toward making that huge mistake right again. New friends are met along the way, and old “friends” and former accomplices have to be faced once more.

Sometimes the worst thing that happens in stories like these is that the harshness of reality makes happiness look foolish. Sometimes the mangaka views tenderness as a fault to be overcome and the art and story reflect it, turning everyday faces into grotesque caricatures.

This story doesn’t make that mistake. More cynically-minded readers such as myself may be tempted to see such a hopeful new start as “unrealistic” and “soft.” Because my life didn’t give me that kind of second chance. I wasn’t even able to think to be kind to the those (********) that made my life miserable. And the ones I looked the other way from? That I bullied in return? There’s no way they’d be to me.

But stories are a wonderful place to find hope. One must remember that there if there is a shadow, there is a light behind it. Nishimiya Shouko makes Ishida Shouya start his life over again, and, unknowlingly, invites the reader to do the same... or, you know, just cry their eyes out. But maybe that's enough for now.

Kagaku to Mahou no Kakutouka-tachi review
This is a 62 pages one-shot that I am sure almost everyone (including myself) picked up because of Murata sensei's art.
This is supposed to be the climax of a classic shounen tournament arc: the opponents facing each other are the champions of their kingdoms, the Science and the Magic one.
Every three years these two realms organise a selection to choose who is going to fight the other kingdom's champion.
As I mentioned before, this should be the climax of the tournament: the one-shot shows how the two champions beat their last opponent before facing each other, a bit of their personalities and then their last fight. The last fight is not that much interesting though, despite Murata sensei art, which was very good as always, but there are no panels with heavy details or astonishing drawings.
I found the backstories of the characters to be very cliche, while their character design could have been much better: the Magic Kingdom's champion looks like he came out of the Magi manga :/
This one-shot wasn't the best: it could have shown a bit more worldbuilding which could have been interesting, but instead focused on the champions and their motivations and lifestyle.
As I said in the first line, I picked it up because of Murata sensei's art, but his art did not compensate for the other aspects of this one-shot.
In conclusion, this is a 62 pages one-shot, so you won't lose a lot of your time while reading it, and it has Yusuke Murata's art, but lacks in any other aspect.

Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi review
I haven't seen such a bad manga in a while. There are several reasons for this, but lets start from the most obvious:
1. Title is a lie. MC is called a healer and all his powers have "healing" in name, but they neither use healing effect, nor are linked in any way to healing. If in RPG you could imagine someone killing enemy with some kind of overheal or overgrowth, but here you should try to imagine something similar to "healing fireball". Sounds bad, doesn't it?
2. Story. It should be a usual "bad guys did bad things to me, so now I will have my revenge" type of plot. The problem here is that instead of moving to his goal MC starts gathering his harem from the start. Not only that, but the list of bad people for his revenge is so vast, that includes basically everyone who is not in his harem or at least has some link to his harem (like friends of his girls).
3. Characters/World. And why, you ask me, is this list of bad people so big? That is just because author, instead of trying to paint at least somewhat believable picture of a fantasy world with average joe being just a guy who works a farm for living, decided to make some kind of "MC may be bad, but everyone around him is worse, so whatever MC does is totally justified" world. And, just to fit this world, every single character that is against MC is just as edgy and evil as he could get, with no redeeming qualities at all. And, speaking of MC and his party, you will not find any personalities either: harem is just harem for sex, MC is stupidly overpowered with a set of cheating abilities for every situation and just does what he wants. And what does he want?
4. Sex. Yes, I will put it in a separate paragraph, just to give this topic as much focus, as the author does. Oh boy, it is everywhere. After reading all the chapters that were available, I could not get rid of impression that I read a cheap hentai. And in a cheap attempt to hide his wish-fullfillment dreams of sex author makes a "sex levels you up (if it is with MC or other heroes)" rule in this world. That's why everyone wants to have their way with MC, that's why MC uses it to power up his harem, that's why it is so hard to find a chapter where there is no sex.
5. Art. And to make it clear, what this manga is for, the only more-or-less decently drawn scenes in this manga are all for sex. Outside of this art is nearly non-existant, battles end in one swing/explosion, so no art here, all characters have one expression glued to their faces, so no art here either, backgrounds are just there so nothing special here too.

Enjoyment from this manga? Well, I must admit, at some point it became so bad that it started to be hilarious, but I can't really say that I had any enjoyment from this series.

Shihou Sekai no Ou review
tl;dr: A manga with starts off with some good concepts in a pretty unique setting for manga that unfortunately falls apart completely.

This story has some interesting concepts, particularly at first. The settings being based on ancient Mesopotamia and the associated culture was pretty interesting because its so rare in fiction, and I've never actually seen it in manga before. The ability system also seemed like it could develop into something interesting. The two main characters also seemed really interesting with the protagonist's extremely carefree personality being strange enough to make him amusing and that combined with the controlling presence of Shazu it felt like there was some good chemistry. The side character Ishitaru was also quite likable simply due to how simple she was. It also felt like the political side of the story and associated world building was going well.

However, this doesn't last long and the story quickly goes off the rails and becomes complete nonsense. The ability system becomes completely arbitrary and does whatever it feels like the plot needs to happen, not that the plot makes much sense either as it gets overtly convoluted and the original political complexities and world building are just sort of left on the side. The main characters also seem to become inconsistent with not hint of the original interesting aspects of their personalities and relationship and all sorts of weird stuff happens to them that just left me feeling kind of awkward. Despite that, I still had some investment in the characters due to the earlier parts of the story even if I wasn't all that invested in the plot itself, so I still cared about the ending, but that too was a disappointment in that it's incredibly abrupt and felt like it provided no payoff whatsoever to what was built up, resulting in it not being satisfying at all.

The situation with the art is kind of complicated in that the style and quality were both good most of the time with a lot of images such as volume covers being great even. The thing though, is that while the images are good in and of themselves, they weren't very good at conveying the story and really didn't feel like they flowed well in that while a lot of the panels were great, a lot felt pretty random and like they didn't flow well at all. It felt like simpler more to the point panels would have been better than the extensive use of elaborate panels at times.

Bathroom Guuwa review
I must say I felt so blessed when I was recommended this manga.
There are about 3 4 stories making up a whole volume but I will only focus on the first story - 1996's summer holidays.
Man I'm head over heel with this story. It's just perfectly absolutely my type!

On the first day of the summer, 4 women gathered at the Yamamoto's house. They were all there due to a letter from an ex boyfriend, Hiroyuki Yamamoto. It turned out he left the countryside for Tokyo a long time ago to pursue his dream of being a successful musician. There, he met the 3 biggest loves of his life, whom he never forgot until the day he died.

At his house, the women cheerfully ate and slept and talked together. Although it was all the trivial things about their mutual ex boyfriend, they always gently smiled and comfortably lent each other an ear.

Each story was gradually revealed. Sad, regretful, heart-breaking, silly, crazy and nostalgic. Be that as it may, Hiroyuki is still their forever love.
And upon the final story, at the point where their memories collide, Hiroyuki appeared the last time for all of them to say goodbye. Goodbye to their regret, leave the sadness behind so that they can live on.

At the end, the 3 women who came from Tokyo went back to their present home. The left the 4th girl with a hopeful future.

The manga is short and the panels are sometimes messy, which would make you lose track of the events. But it's still a silent classic to me.

"Ah, the men are silly."
"They sure are."
"Because no matter what happens, women always continue living."

Heaven review
Heaven is like one of those mangas that people might be excited about, but in the end, it isn't that exciting itself as people expect more from the author.

Story: 2
The story of Heaven was going around the place that it was dreadful. It really had no plot in the volume, but different plots in the chapters which can confused some people (I already got confused when I finished Chapter 2). Another thing is that there wasn't much action considering the fact that Raika and Feilen are gods or spirits which can make people expect a lot of action in the plot, but all of it is small action, comedy, and a bit ecchi. Most of all, the plot didn't explain a lot of things.

Art: 8
The art wasn't so bad, but yet good. All of the characters seem detailed enough to be compared to a different manga probably, but it still could use some work on the attacks that Raika and Feilen used.

Character(s): 6
The characters seem to be fair in a way. Personally, I think most people will like how Raika acts since she is a trouble maker, but yet funny character in the manga. As for Feilen who is the soft one in the duo, she is too soft, but the way she never gives up on a bet spice her personality and actions up. Haruto on the other hand is a bit stupid to let two gods live in his house when he knows they are going to make trouble.

Enjoyment: 2
The enjoyment of this manga isn't expected because there is no enjoyment at all for some people, but enjoyment for others. The manga goes too fast and needed more chapters/volumes and work. One volume just won't cut it.

Overall: 4
Heaven isn't really a manga to be excited about when you read the first chapter. It may seem decent, but in a way, it isn't. It would be more decent if the story was better and had more volumes or chapters. I wouldn't recommend it to people, but only if they are bored and had nothing to read for the time being. Its just like one of those one-shot mangas.

Fukushuu Kyoushitsu review
How do you describe this manga? What kind of perverse incentive was at play for someone to write, storyboard, then draw this manga? Who thinks of this kind of thing? These were all questions I held in my mind as I decided to take a peek down the deep dark yawning abyss that is this manga of insanity.

Story: 7/10. It gets the job done, moves at a natural pace, and is generally appropriate. It's fairly predictable, however, every chapter reveals another facet of the torturous mind that must have been slaving away to come up with so many ways for people to die. I'm not sure if you're supposed to keep a level head while reading this story, but I certainly felt like I was being roped down into insanity along with Ayano while reading this manga. Its pacing is quite good; it never slows down or speeds up to an unacceptable rate. The story progresses naturally much like a derailing train would generally stay put for most of the journey before hitting something, and, oh s h i t, now everything's exploding. The ending is sudden, and the pacing is incredibly intense, but yes, it felt natural and appropriate.

Art: 9/10. Now the art is generally controversial. Some like it, some love it, some hate it. I personally enjoyed the art quite a bit. The exaggerated, haunting expressions of some of the victims are burned into your mind, leading to a greater emotional impact. Most of the time, Ayano looks generally pitiable, or downright evil, just as the character tends to be. I liked the art, some disagree, all there is to it.

Character: 5/10. There is no character with a personality in this manga. What's Ayano's personality? Her one trait is she gets bullied. There's no reason, she just gets bullied. Ok. What's her response? Hurt everyone. That's it. That's her character, done. What about Ai? She wants to hurt everyone. ANything else? She's also crazy devoted (and also just plain crazy) to Ayano. Ok. Anything else? Nope! They are just there for the shock value. Oh no, taichou's (student council pres) dead. What was her character? Abused by her parents. Oh no, Ren's stabbed. What was his character? He hurts women and somewhat cares about Ayano. Huh. The reason this story was less satisfying as a revenge drama than it could've been, is because even though those characters do horrible things to Ayano, they themselves are always flat and unappealing, like cardboard. Thus, the emotional satisfaction of watching said cardboard character get tortured is also less than a fully-fledged developed character doing the same. Let's take Nidome no Yuusha for instance. Similar story, set in an isekai. The final torture of the mage in volume 2 has been developed for so long you understand the character intimately. This is a character you absolutely despise, and thus, watching her die, is also satisfying. Let's compare this to said taichou. The only thing you know about her, is she said some mean things to Ayano once. Wasn't even that bad. Then, she is shown being locked up by her parents and promptly kills herself. She's probably the most emotional death (except for those Ai lovers out there) in this manga, and even writing it out feels hollow. The characters are this story's weak point. Without characters we're invested in, every death feels hollow, like a chore.

Enjoyment: 7/10. It was ok. I was looking for a revenge story, it satisfied the itch. Not particularly brilliantly; emotional satisfaction was lessened by the massive cast of students we were literally tearing our way through, but it was ok.

In the end, it's a dark, messed-up story about revenge and murder and psychological damage. This manga messes with your head, and generally just pushes the edge factor so far its left the earth. I think that that's the only way to conclude this review: edgy, messed-up revenge.
