Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
I see a lot of people mad at the MC and at the manga itself, I honestly can’t understand. I feel like his feelings have been transparent and things with Ruka have been pushed onto her forcefully.
He’s a compelling character with a lot of growth, someone who’s doing nothing but right by the people around him even if he fucks up royally along the way– That’s how life goes, even if you don’t see it yourself, people only get to a happy ending after meeting a few bad ends.
This series has had me laughing, smiling and crying. I binged all 149 episodes in less than a day while working on Uni Projects and playing games. Honestly, I was hooked– I still am, I’m addicted to it. It’s a vibrant story filled with so many roller coaster rides that I couldn’t help but want to consume more and more.
The art is beautiful, some of the characters are tropes, while others, like Sumi and Chizuru, are spins on tropes that become organic personas which feel real and relatable. The MC is a caricature of unpopular college students at first but then becomes a fully-fledged, three-dimensional character in his own right.
Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect when I came into this. The anime had caught my interest, even if only for its outrageous plot, but the manga captured my heart.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
I thought it was necessary to write this review for those of you who are coming here from the anime and are curious about the manga and need to know what happens (Just like me). I BINGED this manga because I'm a sucker for a story like this and I had to know what happened. Join me on this review journey... there will be some MINOR SPOILERS ahead.
TLDR: The story is good but the pacing needs work (Although it gets better towards the end). The art is great and a constant good aspect. Some of the characters are trash. Some of the characters are incredible, its a mixed bag. This manga delivers what you expect it would. It doesn't break the mold for the genre, it won't change your life, but it will give you a nice romance that you will enjoy reading and look forward to reading every week.
Story: 7
This story is exactly what you would expect from the synopsis and premise. MC rents a girlfriend and slowly forms a harem of girls around him but is too indecisive/ stupid to do anything about his true feelings. The rental girlfriend aspect of the manga is an interesting plot device and great way to change up a cliched storyline, but appropriately fades from the main stage at the right time.
The story is cute and romantic, but the problem I have with it is the pacing. I know they say slow and steady wins the race, but we are 155 chapters through this bad boy and the development has been INCHING along. It always feels like 1.5 steps forward and one step back. This detracts a lot from the story because after so many chapters of nothing you start to get fed up. I truly think the story gets back on track when Mini is introduced.
Overall the story is cute and I enjoy it but the pacing and slow progress stops it from getting higher than a 7.
Art: 8
The art is great and about once a chapter they have just an incredible shot of a pivotal or important scene that truly blows me away. I am not a big manga guy so I'm not the best judge of the artwork, but I think the characters look great, the fashion is stylish and always delivers. I think the art is super high quality and a great aspect to this manga.
Characters: (6.5 -> 7)
The characters are both the high and low point of the story.
Kazuya: I get the frustration. This guy kind of sucks. He is self-deprecating and acts worthless. He doesn't have a spine and he is indecisive and timid... but he does grow. He grows both in the story and on me the reader. The first few chapters are hard to get through because that is when the MC is at his lowest. He becomes better and endearing as the story goes on.
Chizuru: She is one of the highlights of the manga. Great in all aspects. She's cute and stylish and gives the MC shit when he is being a shit. But she's kind and caring and is a constant highlight of the manga. Similar to Kazuya in the fact that she has good character growth throughout the manga.
Ruka: The "other girl." Ruka is fine for the role she needs to play but her character is played out and by the middle of the story feels unnecessary and is kept on the cause drama for the MCs. Also, I understand this is a story so I need to look at it like its not reality but IF IT WAS there is no f*ing way Ruka would still be in this story and still be around the MC.
Sumi: Sumi is the other high point of the characters. She is sweet and gentle and honestly steals the show in the limited role she plays. Every time she is in a chapter she always delivers and leaves you wanting more of her in the story. She is incredible and the Sumi spin off is everything we need.
Mami: The ex. Mami is trash and everyone knows it. She is awful in the beginning of the story and really doesn't have any redeeming qualities. Luckily she is barely in this story and hardly deserves mentioning.
Mini: Mini comes into the story later and I'm convinced she saves this manga. The pacing was at a snail's pace and the author brought in Mini to shake things up and bring the necessary developments. She is everything this manga needed right when it needed it.
Enjoyment: 8
I'm a sucker for this kind of story. Its cute and romantic and a little ecchi so its right up my alley. Its everything you expect from this type of romance manga and it manages to incorporate every cliche too. Like I said, the rental girlfriend aspect is different but you know what you're getting with this type of story. For me personally, I love this type of story and this manga hasn't disappointed.
Overall: 7 -> 7.5
Overall, the story is good and pacing is rough (but getting better). Great art, strong and weak characters, and an enjoyable story overall. I can safely say that if you liked the anime adaptation and are curious about what happens next you should read this manga. It's worth the time, it's cute and wholesome and it delivers exactly what you expect it to.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
At the point of this writing, I've made it 41 chapters into the manga after I caught up to the most recent episode of the anime. I considered this point a good breather, to stop and reflect on whether I imagine this will be good in the end. At the moment, that idea is uncertain.
The premise was solid for a bit but as it got later, it's now because more of a hindrance. The characters Mizuharu and Kazuya have locked themselves into a problem that is dragging down all character development and arcs that cross it.
The artwork remains top notch and if ever disappointed by any of the other elements, I find myself easily capable of enjoying the awesome artwork by .
Leading man Kazuya felt like he was going someone where solid but ever since he's fallen for Mizuharu and Ruka came around to be...I don't even know. Comic relief? He hasn't felt the same. He's developed but now worse it feels at time. When he was crushing on Mami, he seemed to have a bit of a spine to draw out. I liked the idea that confidence and maybe self reliance was going to be his new aim but he really hasn't stopped to capture it. Rather he seems to absorb in his new crush which is especially disappointing because it isn't looking like that'll have wheel for a while. Unfortunately this is one of those drag-out romances.
Mizuharu is fine if not we're taking our sweet time opening her up which is just the pacing and Kazuya being trash.
Ruka is one of my favorite characters but the story doesn't want to take her seriously and will probably dump her back on Yuri in 100 chapters or so. Really disheartening stuff.
Kazuya's homies are aight. Mami is awesome lol and the Grandma is awful. I can't stand her and the energy she puts into the show at all. Especially during the New Years Family Trip arc.
Despite all I have to say, I'm going to finish the anime and if I get word that Grandma Kinoshita learns the truth before Ch. 100, I might pick the manga up again next again next month. Because if it's one thing that I dislike the most about this so far is that I'm Ch. 41 and we're still keep the same lie from Ch. 1. That's almost a 3rd of this series right now.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
I gonna keep this short,
Even after 177 chapters, the story is nowhere. It's still in ground zero. The plot hasn't improved significantly. only minor progress. especially the M.C keeps talking about how he wants a real GF and then proceeds to ignore all advances by the girl that likes him. I would be ok with it if he had a reason for such action or if he was very dedicated to the main female character (like re zero) but noooo the MC continuously talks about the female body part and this longing for a GF.
In Short again, the main problem is no progress at all.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
"Kanojo, Okarishimasu", or in English: "I Want to Borrow a Girlfriend", This Manga is different, unique, wholesome and it's GREAT.
Story: 10/10
The Idea it covers is one of a kind and it's also very interesting and it was delivered brilliantly by the writer “Miyajima Reiji”, who’s a genius in his own way.
Art: 10/10
I'm not a big Manga reader, but the art was pretty good, it was better than what I expected, and the outfits selected for the girls were absolutely amazing, and I applaud The writer for that.
Character 10/10
My favorite part of this manga by far, I love the contrast between the girls and their diverse personalities, Mizuhara is a saint, Mami is a bad bitch, Ruka is super funny and Sumi is just too cute and precious. I love them all. And I like Kazuya, although he’s the world's most spineless MC. But yet again, what can we expect from a 20-year-old virgin?
Enjoyment 10/10
I had an indescribable amount of fun while reading it during (24) Hours, It’s THAT good. In brief, it was a beautiful experience.
Overall 10/10
One of the best manga I've read for sure, and I've read a lot of good ones. and I encourage you to read it as well.
Thus, the search for MC's balls continues...

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
KanoKari is a manga that feels a bit behind the times. A product of an era of rom-coms built around a "will-they-won't-they" plot progression in which romantic developments are stretched out across many more chapters than are probably necessary. This is not an inherently bad thing, but a lot of recent romantic comedies have been playing with the tropes that used to dominate the genre, which makes KanoKari feel basic by comparison. I won't say it's an irredeemably mediocre manga, but there are plenty of other options that hit the same notes and give a lot more.
Story (3/10):
The concept behind a dramatic rom-com involving a trashy dude and a rental girlfriend is one that I can get behind. It's a setup that would lead to some interesting developments. That is to say, the story by itself isn't terrible, but the plot progression and pacing are excruciatingly slow. I do not mind a good slow-burn, but this story absolutely meanders and drags its feet. Things that feel like they should take a few pages end up taking several chapters, leaving the reader unsatisfied. That being said, there are genuinely pretty decent moments in the story where emotional beats land. They are just few and far between.
Art (8/10):
The art is pretty fantastic. Aside from the protagonist, the characters have gorgeous designs which reflect their personalities quite well. The line art is remarkably clean and stylish, although the panelling can be sort of bland at times. The amount of times the artist draws Kazuya with a wacky flustered blushing face can get very annoying to me, but objectively, the art is quality.
Characters (4/10):
While I think the story is the worst part of the manga, I think the character writing is the actual downfall. I can read and enjoy 2/10 story as long as it has great characters, and this is crucial in romance stories in particular. Unfortunately, KanoKari does not have great characters. This is a problem, because if I don't want the characters to end up together, what's the point of reading a romance manga? Everyone dogs on the MC Kazuya, and I have to agree. Coming from a person who enjoys "bad" protagonists, Kazuya is unbearably annoying. He's cowardly, creepy, and charmless protagonist who sees little to no development nearly 160 chapters in. Mizuhara makes for a decent female lead, although I personally find her a little bland. The other major characters are either irrelevant, unlikable, or drag the pace down further.
Enjoyment (4/10):
This is a manga with very little charm. It's really a lot of the little things which bother me. If I had a penny for every time a random bystander made a comment about how cute or pretty or sexy the girls were, I would be a millionaire. There are tons of filler chapters with the girls doing normal stuff and Kazuya completely overreacting like a complete monster virgin. The comedy is pretty one note as well and usually relies on Kazuya being the butt-monkey of every joke. The real killer for me is the lack of chemistry between characters. I never get the feeling that any of these characters actually like each other.
Overall (5/10):
For what it's worth, I find KanoKari a completely average romantic comedy. It's got a loser protagonist getting tons of bland gorgeous women piled onto him for no discernible reason, a meandering story line which tries to pad itself out with tons of filler, and a general lack of any special qualities. I know it's unfair of me to judge a work based off of its contemporaries, but it just really doesn't scratch any itches that other mangas won't. 5-Toubun has likeable love interests, Kaguya-sama has solid comedy, BokuYaba has strong romantic chemistry, 100-Girlfriends has a total chad protagonist. KanoKari doesn't really offer anything of special note to me.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
there are some interesting characters:
1. Rental Girlfriend as well as the MC (overall rating: 8/10).
2. Ex-girlfriend (overall rating 7.5/10) she has yandere looks, I guess. but still awesome.
3. Trial Girlfriend (The Best girl, cheerful, care, and pretty. Therefore, I give it 9.5/10)
4. Practice Girlfriend (Cute girl = 8/10)
I do hope that MC end up with the trial girlfriend because she can make the readers feel goosebumps and sometimes heartwarming. But, obviously I know the MC is going to choose the female MC (rental girlfriend one) eventually. Still, I want to know the progress of trial girlfriend (Ruka).
the story is awesome so far (after reading 99 chapters).
Highly recommended for those who are single :').

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Let me get this clear: The protagonist is toxic. He's a stalker, a coward, a liar, he's gross and so on.. And for some reason, everybody (but the girl he likes) seems to fall in love with him (it's almost a harem at this point, uh). Irl I would be afraid and disgusted, but this is fictions and honestly? I kinda get used to this in animes/mangas. There are lots of popular mangas with worse main characters and more dysfunctional relationships.
That aside, I've read all released chapter, because:
-He slowly grows, really SLOWLY but he does. (I would say he starts to became a passable human been after 50 chap, maybe? Step by step he's becoming worthy of the main heroine as she's starting to fall in love with him, it's cute to see <3, if you have patience, I recommend)
-The other characters are funny enough. Mostly his friends ( that one who punches him is the best), the main heroine and the neighbor - Yaemori Mini.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
So far I have reached chapter 151 and the manga is really improving, there is a lot of relationship development, great plots and overall enjoyable. Even though A character like Ruka or Sumi have no proper reason for existence. here are my ratings on it.
Here are the positives and the negatives of the manga in my opinion:
(Contains a bit of unharmful spoilers)
Positives:
+Good comedy
+Good plots
+Great Art
Negatives:
-Lack of story
-The MC
-Ruka
-Extremely confused main love interest
-Unrealistic choices made by almost everyone
so overall I give it 7/10
so you should give it a try if you are looking for something lite to pass time with.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Kanojo, Okarishimasu manages to have very heartwarming and emotional moments that show great character growth in one chapter just for the next chapter to go back to the same status quo. The main problem this manga has that holds it back from an 8 or 9 is the main character, Kazuya. Kazuya is supposed to be a despicable person who mans up after meeting Mizuhara and in some ways he does. He can have moments where he shows growth from his past, and those are the strongest parts of this manga, but all to often the next chapter will return to him being an idiot.
Other characters in this manga can be cliché but enjoyable.
Overall my feelings on this manga are that it feels a little dragged on due to the constant whiplash of Kazuya's character growth, but it is a decent read and I would recommend it.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Let's be honest, we all here watch anime & read manga to forget about or shitty daily life. But... what happens when you see yourself in a main character? That you'll probably hate it.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu is a manga I just start reading because the anime recently aired.
Story: 5
The premise is simple, typical, shitty, you already know that this guy who was dumped by his girlfriend will end up with a huge harem of cuties. Not only that, you already know who the FL is. The story just does as any other romcom, there's not really a story just events, girls meeting with the MC and having their own moments with him.
This is just a romcom so be prepared for unrealistic coincidences, cute girls everywhere, some cringy moments + fanserviece scenes nearly every second.
Art: 8
About the art, it's good, at the begining it isn't the best but slowly it gets better to the point where it's nearly stunning for me, obviously everyone has their own tastes about art in manga.
Characters: 7
The girls well... I think that's the worst part of this manga even though their designs are super cute their personalities are meh, just meh, classic personalities even though some of them are pretty much psycho.
Chizuru was the best to be honest. Her backstory made me cry and I like how she knows what she wants and is all independant and determined. Just what a FL should be like.
But then we have the MC. MCs are characters that we want look up to, saying something like he is so cool and so strong, because we compare ourselves to them & feel like we can actually change. But this is different, who is Kazuya? A plain college student. He wants to have a girlfriend, have sex with her, go on dates & plently of things, maybe you, no surely you also want. He is pessimistic, with a low self-esteem and a pervert. Well he has nothing special probably just like you. He is one of the worst/best character of all the time just because of that.
You can see how Kazuya slowly (super slowly) grows, just like you did or you'll do & that's probably the best part of it.
Enjoyment: 9.
I truly enjoyed reading this I don't regret staying up-all night for it. Romcoms are entertaining and seeing a realistic character made the experience truly interesting.
Overall what can I say, a great romcom with a good and realistic MC. I recommend this if your into romcoms? Yes, I do. Are you tired of romcoms? Then, don't read this, you'll probably just waste your time, but you really should try it!
Art: 8

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Short Review: Ok, full disclosure; This manga is not a 1/10. It is, however, the worst romantic comedy I have ever read. Art aside this has no redeeming characteristics and I only finished skimming the story to give a competent review: The story is boring, the themes are childish, the characters are pathetic.
Basically read anything else if you want a touching romance story, this is a pathetic shounen manga, including the obligatory harem, with an underserving MC. There you go, no spoilers, just don't read this.
Long Review: Here I will reference some other manga that I thought about while reading this dumpster fire.
Kazuya, the MC, and Chizuru have the emotional capacity of small children as grown adults. Both of them remind me of Sawako from "Kimi ni Todoke" but in only the worst ways and she actually develops faster as a character which is beyond belief. Chizuru AKA "best girl" does nothing for the MC aside from comfort him which he pays her to do. She even gives the classic " I don't hate him" line which made me LOL because she isn't even a Tsundere and it was completely against character, she never once even said she DID hate him.
This leads me to my next major annoyance. You know in "Domestic Girlfriend" how the idea of their relationship is taboo and they present it as such? Not here. The idea of paying someone to act in a romantic way is revolting but is presented in such a way that you would think Chizuru is performing a GD public service. Filling someone's emotional void with false emotions is not healthy, period. Yea both the characters have circumstances, but they lie to those important to them which makes it even worse.
To top it all off, the story is just boring. There is little to no "real" romance in this story and there is nothing else going on to hold your attention. No action, no comedy (unless you love revisiting the "Kazuya is such a loser joke" over and over and over) and no overarching plot like the keys in "Nisekoi".
I'll repeat again, this is the worse rom-com I have ever read. Read any of the aforementioned manga if you want something good to read. I know we are not supposed to comment on other reviews, but those 9/10 are total BS and I doubt they really read this with a critical eye. I can not fathom someone giving this more than a 3/10. I could name dozens of better shounen and shoujo manga.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
It's a spoiler free review.
The Anime is out about two weeks ago. I watched the first two episodes and I enjoy it, but I don't like the main character (mc) at all. You'll understand once you watch the first two episodes.
My curiosity had me read the manga. Surprisingly, I really enjoy the manga. I read 148 chapters in two nights. Believe me, character development in this manga is very good expecially the mc.
If you give low scores just based on the first 30 or 40 chapters, well, I agree with you. But come on you need to bear with the mc a little bit more because you might eventually love the mc.
Oh, I do have something that I don't like about this manga. There are SO MANY repetitive conversation in this manga which make some people got bored and drop the manga. But I still enjoy it.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
I had to give this one single star.
Story: 3 (Poor). Why? It started out very interesting at the beginning but since it became popular enough to get an adaptation it's been absolute shit. The only development there is the production of the movie. I can even say than in chapter 179 there is a message on the last page announcing a major development in the story and it's not a spoiler because NOTHING HAPPENS IN THE NEXT CHAPTER, the only changes in the story are the clothes they're wearing. Whenever there's about to be some development you get the "Shit I can't leave her, she's too cute!", the "Oh no I casually forgot I had something else to do" or *panics and runs away* scenarios. The story is a 1 now but since it started off so well I gave it 2 more points.
Art: 10 (Outstanding) No problem here, absolutely beautiful the style is very nice to look at, the background are usually nice, the characters have decent anatomy and all.
Character: 5 (Mediocre) Like I said in the story, 0 development.
Kazuya doesn't evolve as a character, the only growth he has is his dick and his love for Mizuhara. Every time he supposedly grows balls to confess they either shrink into his body or you get the scenario I mentioned in the story part.
Chizuru is pretty nice, the usual hard working woman who wants to make their family happy. She's dense as all hell though. Annoyingly dense. Kazuya could tell her he loves her and she would just "ahaha in a buddy way!". I don't like her as much as before since in the chapters after 179 she just proved to be as much of a coward as Kazuya.
Ruka is absolutely annoying. I get where she is coming from, weird heart condition and it only beats like it should when she's around Kazuya. That doesn't excuse her forcing herself on Kazuya all the time. Which, to be fair, is also Kazuya's fault for not being honest with her. Also there's no reason to keep her and the secret around anymore, literally none.
Mami is only there to give you the illusion that there's going to be some development. Like I said, [an illusion]. It's been 181 chapters and we don't know what her intentions are. She breaks up with Kazuya but gets mad and jealous when she sees him with any other girls. Understandable, maybe she was just confused and realised she made a mistake? No! Absolutely not! She makes everyone around her miserable. Kazuya goes to a party where Mami is too and she starts hating on Kazuya for no reason. Not the usual ex love-hate relationship, just straight up bullying and humiliation in front of everyone else. There's many scenes where Mami talks shit about everyone and everything on hew private twitter account which is just sad and pathetic. Not a single likeable trait in her. I get she's supposed to be the villain but in 99% of cases you know what the bad guy's intentions are and why he does this. The author just puts in Mami once every few chapters to show that she's still around and then you forget about her until she makes the usual appearance where she ALMOST ruins the secret, says two lines and disappears for another 20 chapters.
Yamemori or whatever her name is, the scene kid. Pretty cute and nice, tries to help but she's there to show that Kazuya can have girl friends without sexualising them 24/7.
And the last important character I can think of is Kibe. The rarest character with the lowest chance of appearing, more rare than a shiny Pokemon. Only shows up to give Kazuya a lesson about life and vanishes, never to be seen again (obviously sarcasm but that's all there is to the character).
Enjoyment: 1 (Pathetic), I really wasted more than a year following this. The only regrets I've had in my 19 years on this earth are reading Domestic na Kanojo until the very end and supporting this milk factory of a manga.
Overall: 3 (Poor), it's only a 3 because I gave the art a 10 and the characters a 5 (I'm so close to lowering that). I'm especially mad at the author for blatantly lying to us, promising a super important development in chapter 180, I expected to read it and hopefully it would bring back the joy I felt a long time ago reading this. Instead we got nothing. So unlike many other people who will stick around, 180 was the last straw.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Having persevered after almost dropping "Kanojo, Okarishimasu", I can say with certainty, "it gets better!". You'll need to trudge through not five, not six, but a little over twelve mediocre/unenjoyable chapters, but assuredly there is good and enjoyable content to be found here. The poor qualities of the main character and those around him, which was the primary detriment to the work, become greatly diminished about a dozen chapters in as they begin to expand and grow and their motivations become more clear.
The art is fairly normal but very attractive and accents the manga nicely.
The story provides the "fake girlfriend" scenario not as a passing situation, but as it's foundation. Although initially bumpy, it levels out as an enjoyable (though fraught with difficulty) romance with all the misunderstandings and trials you might expect.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
I cannot believe that I am wasting my time writing this review.
If there's one thing to take away from this review, it's that don't ever read this.
For literally 100+ chapters, the amount of repetitive arcs is astounding, no it's actually incredible. The lack of creativity and common sense the author has really shines through in this shitty work of a manga. It starts off with an interesting and new concept as well as a relatively relatable mc.
But 50 chapters through, the author just ran out of ideas.
All the arcs somehow feel the exact same, with the mc simping over the main girl, blushing all the time, admiring her body and beauty in his mind. I swear to god, if he actually said what he was thinking, he would've been arrested 10 times already. My guy has no confidence, to the point it's absolutely cringe to read. Virtually no development happens between the main girl and the mc. IT'S BEEN 177 CHAPTERS, AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP HASN'T CHANGED SINCE LIKE CHAPTER 70.
I understand how romcom mangas are normally really dragged out, and just kinda repetitive, but this? This is just unnecessary at this point. Litterally there are so many opportunities for the mc to step up to the plate, but for some reason, whether it's cause he's a coward, or the constant cock- blocking from Ruka-chan, he just cannot say what he really feels.
And it's actually extra annoying, cause at some rare moments, he does say how he feels, but he talks in a extremely roundabout way, and the main girl is super dense, meaning that there's no reason for any type of communication between these 2. After all, nothing will happen anyway.
It's just hard to read after the first 50 chapters or so. If you are looking for a cute and wholesome romcom, read something else. If you're looking for a maure romance that deals with real problems, read something else. If you're looking for ecchi romcoms with lots of fanservice, read something else. If you're looking for anything remotely creative or entertaining, at this point you should just read something else.
This is just not worth your time.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
This series has easily become one of my all-time favorites. For a lot of people, this will be just another basic romance series and I totally get that. What really carries the show for me however are the characters, mainly Chizuru and Kazuya.
Chizuru has stolen my heart on so many different levels it's insane. I can talk all day about her design (probably one of the cutest/hottest designs ever) but what I find extremely special about her is how much she feels human. She isn't like any other basic romance love interest, she actually has a personality, needs, feelings, thoughts, and problems. Her relationship with Kazuya feels genuine. She literally didn't show any sign of interest in Kazuya until more than halfway in. Also if you look at the actual story, the events span over about 2 years (up until the current chapter 175) which makes the relationship feel even more realistic. It really makes it feel like Kazuya is chasing after Chizuru and not the other way around. The series focusing solely on Chizuru sometimes without Kazuya also helps with this. I genuinely think that she carries this series and even though some people might disagree I think she is straight-up one of the best characters anime/manga have produced period.
Kazuya I think is also a really cool character that I feel a lot of people gloss over. I of course won't make the argument that he is nearly as interesting as Chizuru but he still is an amazing character. You start by really fucking hating him because of how stupid he is but get to eventually like him. Also, one thing that separates him from other romance protags is that his design is slightly different.... actually I'm not so sure about that. I don't think I can make Kazuya justice here. He has a special something that made me genuinely feel for the guy, unlike most other protags who I just couldn't give less fucks about.
Read the fucking manga! Also, the anime is just as good. Season 2 hype

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
This review has been completely written over.
I'd just like to apologise to those who have seen my previous review on this manga, before I read past chapter 27.
Originally, I had a strong sense of hate for this manga, the characters and the way that all of them acted, their decisions and how uncomfortable I was reading it.
Recently, after chapter 50, the manga became an absolute masterpiece. (Spoiler alert for past chapter 50)
Characters/story: 9/10
The girl with the bow, Ruka, started to make moves, and the main character, Kazuya, finally seems to be developing from a spineless character who is unable to make decisions, and struggles to come forth with his feelings.
Regarding feelings, it seems that Chizuru has also changed, and for the better. Chizuru is now able to recognise that the bond that she has between the Grandparents of the two, and themselves, is more than just being a "rental couple". Her emotions really have become part of her, considering that at the beginning she was completely different.
The emotion that the manga is able to direct towards the reader in such an articulated manner is what amazes me. The dilemmas that the characters face, and the choices they go with all make for a good read, and at times, a rather tense manga (Which isn't a bad thing)
Kazuya, who was once a jerk who turned his head away from everything, except his grandmother, the character that REALLY infuriated me at one point in time, has now become someone who is alot more open, someone who is starting to develop into a level headed character.
Art wise, what had got me reading this manga was seeing the outstanding effort that went into the drawing of everything was the art. I will give it a solid 10/10.
Enjoyment 9/10.
It is such a wonderful feeling to see characters competely do a 180 degree turn, a relief in a sense, as earlier I had started to lose hope, but kept on reading.
Story - 9/10
It is a completely new concept to me, "Rental girlfriends". A rather bizarre thing really - But in the end this has become a manga very special for me. The fact that despite the storyline SOUNDING boring, the mangaka did a fantastic job making this something that is nothing like the other manga I have read under this genre.
Overall, 9/10
An extremely good manga, and I have a strong feeling that this manga is going to be even better soon!

Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
Let me be clear about one thing: Kanojo, Okarishimasu is not a bad manga.
There are many things that can be praised about this manga. For one, the artist behind it is one of the hardest working and quality artists I've seen. He's extremely dedicated, confident, and effective in his ability to deliver a quality submission sometimes even sooner than intended.
Speaking about art, it's great! The characters and the settings they're drawn in look very detailed. I think the author/artist nailed the design of the 4 lead girls as I haven't seen waifu-wars this intense since Nisekoi.
Now, speaking of Nisekoi...
This manga pretty much copies the story, formula, and characters of Nisekoi almost to a T. Most of the 4 main girls share similarities to 4 main girls you'd recognize from Naoshi Komi's work in Nisekoi. The clingy girl with an illness, the shy and innocent one, and the main lead girl has a lot of similarities to Chitoge in her relationship with the main character.
The two leads, Kazuya and Chizuru, are in a fake relationship and nobody can know about it. That's the sword of Damocles that hangs over this story, just like it is in Nisekoi. They jump through the hurdles of keeping this lie going for different reasons than in Nisekoi, but the overall characters and formula have been copied almost verbatim.
Unfortunately, I don't think this manga is anywhere near as good as Nisekoi in its execution.
It's really just a lesser version of that manga. The main boy and the 4 lead girls are nowhere near as enjoyable as Raku, Chitoge, Tsugami, Onodera, and Marika. Kazuya is just a horny fool who is too idealistic and narrow-minded to have an introspective and mature thought in his head while Chizuru comes off as very cold and indifferent to the MC but still continues the fake relationship because she can't admit that she does like him.
Both characters leave this bitter taste in my mouth as they go about interacting with one another. Neither seems to have a very great relationship with one another because, for one, Chizuru won't give Kazuya the time of day (which earlier in the manga made sense but after a year passes in the story it becomes harder and harder to sympathize with how she treats Kazuya,) and two, because
it all feels so disingenuous, which is the biggest problem with a lot of the relationships in this manga.
Personally, I'm enjoying it for the most part, but this manga will most likely split a lot of people because of what happens in it. If you don't like the main character from the jump then I'll tell you right now that he doesn't get any better and you might as well drop it if you want to spare yourself the headache. If you can put that aside then there are a lot of cute moments that'll keep you engaged long enough to maybe stick it through to the end.
Personally, I'm rooting for Ruka. Nobody seems to like her because of how immature she is and the measures she takes to get closer to Kazuya, but I love the clingy anime girl cliché and quite honestly I don't like Chizuru at all.
The last thing I'll say is that this story is very predictable. It's obvious from the first volume how this story ends so be prepared to expect the expected by the end of it.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu review
This manga is boring and frustrating. The MC is a cuck, one of the worst cuck that I have ever seen but you can know it from the synopsis ( It's didnt disturb me but i saw on MAL that a bunch of people were complaining, well I dont know what kind of person you want the MC to be knowing he rents a "girlfriend" but yes...)
The main problem of that story (i'm on chapter 145 so clearly far in the story) is the pace, it's one of the slowest if not the slowest pace that I have ever seen and oh gosh I have seen many things. Basically you have idiot MC who is in love with the fake girlfriend, this one is quickly in love with him too but both will NEVER admit it. Sometimes at the end of the chapter you have a hope for the following chapter but finally it was a prank.
You are doomed to see an idiot MC (who has less testosterone than my 80 years old grandpa) complaining about how he's a worthless loser and an idiot girl who does not want to admit her love without any reasons. She does not even send signals, you cant even guess that she's in love with MC, you only know it because she suggests it once or twice while talking to an another character... That's why this story is soo frustrating.
In more than the half of the 145 chapters, you just have a fake date with the fake girlfriend with the girl who acts almost everytime coldly and beside her you have the MC, awkward and idiot everytime.
(minor spoilers) obviously you have the harem with the worthless MC. He has an another cute rental girlfriend who is openly in love with him, she becomes more and more annoying throughout the story. You have the ex of the MC who dumped him but for some reasons, she's still in love with him and she's possessive with him even if she's not with him (she will hugely stalks the MC). This girl is probably the most interesting character of the story.
Finally the only redeeming quality of this manga is his art. It's modern and beautiful, girls are well drawn and cute but that's all..
This manga is one of those manga that the more you progress throughout the story, the more you will hate it. The author had a good idea but he totally messed up the pace and the growning relationship between both MC. I absolutely do not recommend to read it.
