Domestic na Kanojo review
*This review contains major spoilers*

Domestic na Kanojo is probably one of the greatest examples of manga that were ruined for their disastrous ending. And after seeing the abundance of negative reviews it is getting, I decided to add another one to the list.

Now, hear me out. I really enjoyed reading Domestic na Kanojo for the most part. Unlike the anime, the manga succeeded in making me invested in the story and characters and actually giving a shit about them. Inspite of being very melodramatic and flawed in some cases, it was mostly a genuinely decent read for me.

However, as a wise person once said, "All's well that ends well."

Story (3)

Domestic na Kanojo has one of the spiciest plots you could ever find in any manga or anime. Just reading its plot can get you hospitalized because of the extreme level of spicyness.

Natsuo Fuji, a high school student and an aspiring author, is secretly in love with Hina Tachibana, his English teacher. To move on from his unrequited and immoral love, Natsuo decides to go to a mixer where he meets with an unsociable girl named Rui. Much to his surprise, Rui requests Natsuo to have sex with her which Natsuo fulfills (that results in losing his and the girl's virginity) in order to move on from Hina.

However, Natsuo's entire world turns upside down after he finds out that his father is remarrying; and Hina, his teacher and love interest, and Rui, the girl he lost his virginity to, are going to become his new step sisters. This makes it even harder for Natsuo to forget about Hina, and the relationship between the siblings starts to get complicated.

Domestic na Kanojo mainly revolves around the relationship of these three step siblings and the difficulties they face concerning their relationship as they go through different "spicy" incidents together.

Extremely spicy, isn't it? Well, even though the plot is certainly spicy and disastrous, the overall story is quite decent in my opinion (besides the ending, of course). The author manages to keep the readers engrossed in reading the manga because of the decent story progression and extreme spicyness prevalent in every 5 chapters or so. Various serious aspects of life such as job aspirations, social alienation, anxiety, depression, relationship (both romantic and platonic) problems etc. are also explored in a very decent and realistic way in this manga. There are some flaws here and there but they aren't that noticeable.

However, the ending just had to ruin most of the good parts of Domestic na Kanojo. After 200+ chapters of all this melodrama, it was looking like Rui was going to be the "victor" and Hina was going to move on from Natsuo and find another genuine love. I would've been absolutely fine with it if it actually happened. I was supporting Rui throughout the entire story, but I was also wishing for Hina's happiness. It was looking like my wish was going to be fulfilled.

But guess what? Instead of getting a proper and a logical ending, we get one of the most ridiculously stupid endings I've ever seen in a manga.

For some reason, after these many years, Natsuo realizes that he loves Hina more than Rui and decides to "only live for her" which I find extremely stupid. I mean, after what all Natsuo and Rui have gone through together, you (Natsuo) are just going to leave Rui alone? I know that Hina also has gone through a lot and that's why you (the author) wanted to give her a good ending, but seriously? Couldn't you have done that earlier if you really wanted to? Couldn't you have done it a simpler and more rational way instead of ending it like this?

All I'm trying to say is, I don't think the ending is bad just because my ship sank, but I think the ending is bad because it's poorly executed and unnecessarily dramatic. If it hadn't been this bad, I would've easily given the story an 8. The ending ruins most of the decent aspects of Domestic na Kanojo.

Art (9)

The art of Kei Sasuga, Domestic na Kanojo's artist, is easily the best aspect of the manga. Her art is really great. It's the only thing in the entire manga that is consistently decent. The character designs are also very unique and attractive. Since the timeline in the manga actually progresses, the characters grow older throughout the story and it's made apparent by making subtle and realistic changes to their designs, which is very admirable.

Overall, the art of Domestic na Kanojo deserves a solid 9/10.

Characters (4)

For the most part, the characters of Domestic na Kanojo are amazing. The author gives enough time to develop the characters and make them relatable. Natsuo, the main protagonist, is actually a decent guy. His actions are sometimes very naive and stupid, but he genuinely cares about others and tries his best to help them in need. Natsuo, along with Rui and Hina, are all developed really well throughout the manga. The side characters are also great. Even some of the characters who make a very short appearance in the manga are memorable and are given decent backstories.

Unfortunately, though, the characters start losing their charm after a while. It becomes even worse after chapter 269. During that time, Natsuo makes an extremely idiotic decision of leaving Rui after being involved in a relationship together all these years. That decision of his made me absolutely hate him despite liking him throughout almost the entire series. People surrounding Natsuo also acted unreasonably, which almost completely ruined their previous decent qualities.

Enjoyment (4)

For the first 200 chapters or so, I really enjoyed reading Domestic na Kanojo. From then, the story degraded a bit, and the characters kind of lost their charm. It still wasn't THAT bad, though, until that ridiculously stupid and detestable twist occured. It ruined most of the enjoyment I got from reading DomeKano.

But even after the horrible ending, I can't give Domestic na Kanojo a score below 4. No matter how much I disliked the ending, I can't disagree that I really enjoyed the manga for the most part.

Overall (4)

The ending of Domestic na Kanojo alone deserves a 1/10 to be honest, but I will give the manga a 4 overall because it was mostly a decent manga to read. It had an extremely spicy, but well-crafted plot that kept me reading more and more. I was also quite invested in the characters. It's a shame that it ended this way.

I suggest you giving Domestic na Kanojo a read if you love reading human melodramas and romance stories, which I do too. However, you also have to stay very cautious while reading it, because you'll have the spiciest time of your life and might even get hospitalized from the extreme spicyness. You should avoid reading from chapter 270 to chapter 277 as well because these 8 chapters are million times worse than the rest of the manga and probably will ruin most of your enjoyment.

But who knows? You might even enjoy the ending since this is where the spice level of Domestic na Kanojo reaches its ultimate peak. So, in the end, it's all up to you.

Domestic na Kanojo review
At the end of the day, it gave me endearing emotions that I don't find in real life.

Isn't this why we venture into fiction, to allow our heartstrings to be tugged in deep, profound ways that the harsh realities of life cannot afford? I find Tsuki ga Kirei, Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou, and Domestic na Kanojo to have shown me the depth of happiness and sadness, and all the frustration and anxieity in between the two, that I have never known before.

All the characters and side stories were lovely and plunged me deep into the DomeKano world. It's a shame that the last 7 chapters were rushed to wrap up the series. Instead of the colorful depictions of feelings, thoughts, and fears we consumed early on, we the readers were fed mundane, illogical facts of the matter in the very end. Gone were the delight and suspense of meaninful plot twists that captivated us deep into sleepless nights.

Through the encounters of the MC aspiring to become an author, we were told how novelists and script writers must not underestimate their readers, and yet here we are left wondering why this turned out to be a grave disappointment after we invested our heart and feel.

Regardless, I can't help but appreciate how this manga had broadend the range of my emotions and taken me to new depths of humanity. Perhaps I don't have enough drama in real life. All things considered, I do recommend this series for its art, narrative, and the ability to transcend my world.

--- --- --- SPOILER ALERT --- --- ---

Love knows no bounds, is not logical, and does not heed to societal obligations.

I understand that "nobody deserves Natsuo more than Hina" because hers is the selfless true love. Love conquores all, including parental responsibilites. Perhaps Sasuga Kei would add a few more chapters after 277 to give Rui and Haruka a happy family with Kajita because we all fell in love with Rui for her passion, playfulness, and sensuality. I lost sleep over her.

Also, fill us in on what happened during the time skip. How did other members of the literary club and the drama club fare? Momo and Alex had happy endings but is there anything awaiting Miyabi or even Fumiya?

All we need is a proper closure to file this manga away as a cherished, sentimental escape from our average existance.

Domestic na Kanojo review
So people who start to read this will find it the most beautiful and frustrating manga..maybe it was because i was sided with one team and forgot the overall fun..so reading it twice gave me a good heads on the manga overall..so hear is my review of the manga..as i write this review the manga is completed.

Story:
as i rated the story i very good..good arcs and bad ones too..mostly good i would say. School Arc and College Arc ( Misaki Part) these two arcs were handled really good the rest may seem sloppy but if u have no idea on what love or romance is u would find it entertaining..as for when i read the manga a second time i found this sloppy arc fantastic..maybe as i told before i was lopsided on who should end with who..so reading this manga u need a free and open mind. to accept things happening to the protagonist .

Character:
the character developments were really good and i found three character's written exceptionally well
1. Hina Tachibana
2. Misaki Ogura
3. Miyabi Serizawa
I'm not saying the rest of the characters were shit but these three were fucking fantastic.personally for me this character had huge impact on me as well as the story but i also feel every character in the manga plays an important role too..the character are also given the required importance too and with a satisfactory fan-service treatment too.

Art:
i have absolute respect for art because it was that good it was surreal and damn boy the sex scenes were fire ..the art was good and i find no complaints in that.

Enjoyment: (S_P_O_I_L_E_R)
The Hype , the tension , the rush and that excitement was definitely present but i cannot say for all the story arc that was true..as i mentioned earlier there were two story arcs which kept me on my toes..sometimes you may feel really lost story wise..but those moments turn out be the most exciting ones.. (SPOILERS AHEAD)
my moments would definitely Hina breaking up with him and accepting him as her lover because it so well written and depicted in beautiful manner.

Overall:
a fantastic read i really loved the small pure moments and big special ones..to truly enjoy this manga u should definitely have an open mind..when i fast read the manga i was lop-sided with Hina this Hina that..but after reading it the second time..i understood the true meaning of manga and how well the love triangle plays..the ending of manga was more than satisfactory for me..it was a blessing one wish i had is that if i had found this manga lot sooner i could have spent a lot more moments with it..but binge-ing it felt great too..finishing off this manga was really good and had the most intricate and beautiful love triangle and a suitable ending too

Domestic na Kanojo review
I admit, the whole premise on the immoral pleasures of student-teacher relationship got my attention. I stayed for the pleasingly realistic approach the cast have made in resolving the issues brought by their choices. Their decisions and the consequences were impactful. Even with the switching of sides from the love triangle kept happening, it was enjoyable enough to root equally for both with how they've given their reason for their choices. Everything was going well, cliched situations happened, but for some very very unnatural reason, everyone and everything changed.

[SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE FINAL ARC--It is important for me to include this spoiler because for me the conclusion, and especially this one, wraps up the whole story. This would crystallize the work of a creator, whatever they would decide on a conclusion will be the final image of their work.]

[•••••••••••••••••••••••START OF SPOILER••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••]
Every thing went downhill when "Rui" called off their wedding for "Hina's" sake. Grounding on 'it must be fate' for "Natsuo" to marry "Hina" or whatever bullcrap. As a user in reddit (sorry I could not find the post) have analyzed, the characters post-chapter 273 are impostors with their faces trying to weave their way to the author's fantasized ending that she failed to build up to. All of that character development, the resolve in their faces when they've bravely face the consequences of their decisions, all of that gone; as did my respect for this manga.
[••••••••••••••••••••••••END OF SPOILER••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••]

Reading the final chapter, I'd tell myself that this is just a doujinshi, with the actual manuscript of the final arc lost forever. I've already dissociated, and I could not really care anymore about this manga while I read through its end.

As I've said, the conclusion of a story will make up for everything it has built on. I see it as a person who has started as a terrible person, learns from their mistake, triumphs over their hardship, to ultimately be transmuted into an actual dumpster. That is everyone in Domestic na Kanojo.

Domestic na Kanojo review
I started this manga from around chapter 72, right about where it picks up from the anime since I was first introduced to this series from the anime. Soon after I started reading, I fell in love with it. The romance was exceptional, the drama was enough to keep the story exciting. The pacing was right, the art was phenomenal, and you could see the main character develop along the way. I was ready to give this a solid 10 out of 10.

So why didn't I give it a 10? That's because the quality of the manga dropped off real fast around the 200th chapter mark. The story really lost its magic. It almost felt as if drama was being conjured out of thin air, when the characters start to act differently than they usually would in the story. This, I feel is the mistake of most romantic drama. Unnecessary overexagerrated drama is created because the authors feel like the story is lacking. This is not at all what it should be. This is a romantic drama, not a pure drama story. Even if it did lack drama the viewers would still be satisfied with regular romance.

The worst part here is that its not just any drama being used cheaply. It's the classic trope of infinite love triangles. In the more recent chapters, a love triangle appears out of nowhere, and, without giving too much spoilers, the couple begins to doubt their love, partly instigated due to long distance. Because no relationship can ever work right? It's the kind of typical romance trope that makes you annoyed and want to kill yourself. At this point I'm not so sure about where the story is going. Perhaps our MC will end up alone?

That being said, it's not entirely bad. Only in recent chapters it started going downhill. If you do want to see it for yourself, just be warned, you are gonna be very annoyed, and not for good reason. Or hey, maybe my review was too vague for you. If so just shoot me a PM or something, I'll gladly explain it in a more detailed and slightly more spoiler-y way.

I will definitely come back to this series once more chapters have been released. Then I will write again to see how I feel about it.

Domestic na Kanojo review
I tried to avoid spoilers, plot summary, and other things, but still, something can be considered as such, so read all of the following at your own risk.

The success of a work often depends on its finale. After all, an unsuccessful ending can easily disappoint readers, leave an unpleasant "aftertaste".
I didn't want to write a review of this manga right after I finished reading it. I thought that after some time after the final chapters my opinion of the manga would improve and I would give a higher score. And so it happened. I initially rated this as a 3. But anyway, I just can't score it higher than 4 and still think that the author of "Domestic Girlfriend" failed the ending. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. The scores drop from 7.71 before the final arc to 7.32 at the time of writing this review say a lot. And it doesn't matter which girl you were rooting for.

Just a warning. Whatever you do, if you haven't read the manga yet, I recommend do not read it. But if you are going to start reading it anyway, don't get attached to any of the manga girls.

I'm really used to love reading this story till the last arc. But since chapter 265, the story has fallen off the cliff in the most contrived nonsensical way imaginable. This, two cheap timeskips, discarded development of all the characters, the inability of the MC stand by his choice, denial of fatherhood, family values, and even love, the replacement of all the above with the word "Fate" make DomeKano one of the worst manga I ever read. The author came up with too good a love triangle, but not how to solve it and instead of a well-thought-out drama, insight into the characters, conflict resolution and choice of sides, in the end we are getting an unnatural, artificial plot twist so moldy and formulaic that the nuclear compartment of the teams of both ships just explode (well, unless their goal was just to see their girl won no matter how it was done). It does leave the feeling that the manga was completed in a hurry, and it's really strange, with such number of chapters and a pile of fillers. May be the author wanted to please everyone, but it didn't work out. Readers have already compared the ending of this manga to the ending of "Game of Thrones". It's really just as bad, if not worse.

From the manga positive points I can note artwork. The art is quite good and detailed for weekly manga, although not awesome one and exaggerated happy faces with wide open mouths do not look very good.

P.S. Out of all the gals who had to deal with Natsuo, Momo the most fortunate than anybody in the manga.

For some reason I doubt the possibility of the second season of the anime.

Domestic na Kanojo review
I'm going to make this review in two separate parts, a non-spoiler section and a spoiler section.
(I also compare this manga to different anime as of my lack of experience in reading manga. Sorry!!)

After reading through the reviews that other people have made on domestic girlfriend I can't help but think people are being extremely harsh on this manga.

Domestic girlfriend suffers from the same thing many other manga and anime also suffer from and that is a poorly written ending. The ending is bad, like Erased level bad, however I don't think that justifies ratings as low as 1-2/10.

I first found out about domestic girlfriend through the anime series that came out in 2019. This anime was notorious for being a complete mess of an anime with terrible pacing, a lack of likability in the characters and an obscene plot that that was put together awfully. I ended up watching it (pretty much just because of the op) and as bad as it was, I couldn't help myself but continuing with it. Once i finished it i found something that made me want to continue the story so i picked up my first ever manga in the form of Domestic Girlfriend.

Now that's out of the way I want to talk about what I really enjoy in this manga. Firstly, the main characters of Natsuo, Hina and Rui are very well written. As of the length of this manga you really get to see these characters be fully fleshed out, which makes them all very enjoyable. I'm usually not a fan of the main male protagonist in the romance genre as they are often irritating, for example, I cannot stand Kazuya from Rent-a-Girlfriend, I found him incredibly unrealistic and repulsive (I guess it's a slightly different genre of romance but still.) However, with Natsuo he comes across as a realistic and likeable guy. As for Hina she is also very likeable, especially in later chapters of the story. Dialogue between Natsuo and her feel very pragmatic and I see why people are big fans of her, however, Rui is clearly best girl. I found the relationship between Rui and Natsuo really engaging and they were probably my favourite moments in the manga. Rui is just adorable, that's all their is to say really, she is a joy to watch. As the story progresses you see her slowly change from stubborn and cold to a loving sweetheart of a character who helps Natsuo through the struggles of his life. As for the supporting cast of characters I personally think their is too many of them. So many in fact that I forgot about a lot of them as the story progressed. As this story shows the life of these three characters it is only natural for some of them to come and go, however, there is a ridiculous amount. As I am writing this there are so many characters who are in this manga who never show up again after their small amount of time under the spotlight. For example, nobody remembers characters such as Hibiki, Kazumi or Mao Kinashi as they are all underwritten and pretty unimportant to the plot, in fact, the three characters I just mentioned were really only potential love interests to Natsuo, which were blatantly never going to happen. My favourite set of supporting characters were the Literature club group. All of them were unique and added different twists to the plot. However, as the story progressed they all ended up drifting further away from the story and really only returned to please the readers and to give a small update in what has happened in their lives.

I'll quickly mention the art. There isn't much to say other than it's brilliant. I especially like the scenes where a character shows great emotion such as crying with joy. I also think the pages where a image takes up the whole page look absolutely stunning.

As for the story, it is the greatest strength as well as the greatest downfall of the manga. As previously mentioned, the story follows the lives of Natsuo, Hina and Rui as they all have to deal with love, aspirations, heartbreak and failure. The first 150 chapters are excellent, absolutely zero complaints. The main reason behind this is that other then the harem type plot the story is very realistic. Compared to other anime that I've seen in the romance genre Domestic Girlfriend really shines in encapsulating you in a very believable story. Instead of waiting 5 years for the couple to have their first kiss like your usual romance anime Domestic Girlfriend hurries up the relationships of characters quickly (I mean the very first scene is of Natsuo losing his virginity.) This is what made me really engrossed in the manga as it felt like circumstances that would happen in real life nowadays. However, this really starts to change from this point forward, from the point that Natsuo starts to go to college. From around about chapter 150-160 to the end of the manga it feels like the writer was trying to ram in every possible twist and piece of drama. For example, these are a few random themes that are messily thrown into the story: kidnapping, attempted murder, stalking, prostitution, moving to America, pointless breakups, drug selling, a very forced run at acting, , etc, etc, etc. I have no idea what made the writer decide to just throw every possible scenario in her head into this manga but she did, and sadly all it does is make the story stray further and further away from the great realism it had. All the scenarios that i mentioned barely happen in real life so it made me start to lose interest with the story. While all this is happening the plot feels like it's repeating itself. All that happens is that Natsuo plays the nice guy and helps random characters out of the bad life choices or terrible situations that they get themselves in. I read this story to see the progression of Natsuo, Hina and Rui but through the later chapters or the 'college arcs' it feels like the writer just kind of ran out of ideas which is a shame. I will talk about the ending (chapter 260-275) further down as i want to split it from the non-spoiler section but let me mention this as i did at the start. It is dreadful.

My overall enjoyment was that i really enjoyed this manga. I could of given this a 9 or 10/10 if it continued to proceed like it did in the first 150 chapters but from the lack of originality, weird plot choices and the awful ending ended up making my review rather negative. I Still thoroughly enjoyed this manga but maybe over time I might realise that it isn't is good as i think it is. I would still recommend this manga, especially to anyone who found enjoyment out of the anime. Or If you are a guy who literally watches things to see nudity or sex scenes (no judging) then you also will definitely enjoy this manga as well.

SPOILERS----------------------------------------------

Man what on earth was the writer thinking with the ending. This might be possibly the worst ending I have ever seen in anything. The first major problem was Rui getting pregnant. This was the most pointless, random twist that again was only put in to cause shock. Secondly, the whole of the Tanabe's return arc was just atrocious. Tanabe is a terrible villain in this story and he does even less then he did the first time. This time they speed-run introduce a new journalist character and he ends up running over Hina, putting her into a coma. Then Rui and Natsuo decide to split up to take care of Hina as well as their baby. We then get a fast forward 5 years into the future where their baby is born and Hina is still in a coma. Rui convinces Natsuo to marry Hina as that should be destiny. Rui put up a attitude of 'I guess I have lost' which really sways away from her normal attitude which is usually strong. Hina and Natsuo end up getting married (There literally is no dialogue between these two in the end) and everyone 'lives happily ever after.' I can't stand this ending. I don't know why we had to have a happy ending in this manga as it isn't a cute slice-of-life romance story. I feel like the writer tried to make everyone happy with the ending but it really shouldn't have been handled that way. Of course I was a bit annoyed the Rui ended up 2nd place but that wasn't the problem. The problem was the terrible pacing of the ending (it was literally over 3 chapters) and the pointless tone switch at the end to make the manga feel like a fairy tale. With all honesty I am a quite annoyed at how it ended as it just felt really half-assed.

PS: Don't send any hate towards the writer, it's just unnecessary

Domestic na Kanojo review
**SPOILER ALERT(OBIVIOUSLY)**
I first saw the anime(didn't complete it) then was drawn to this manga because not gonna lie I was searching for some fap material with a nice plot, but boy oh boy I was so wrong. I swear on my waifu I didn't fapped once to this and was very happy to read it.

I am a casual otaku who comes to MAL for reviews and casual database stuff and I am writing this because I see people who have been badmouthing Kei sensei for the ending and can't respect the fact that its her story to begin with. Even I am kinda disappointed with the ending, well everyone should be ,but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it..

So first of all a huge thanks Kei sensei for this beautiful story, I cried, laughed, and was delighted by this story, well up until chapter 250. The story is good and I mean it, its the kind of story which focuses on the taboo of step brother/sister relationship and is very awkward because you visualize yourself on their places and it gives you a very uncomfortable feeling of what gonna happen. As GIGGUK said its a fire dumpster which you wanna drop reading but you won't be able to. Why? because its good. The character story is so complicated that you might be uncomfortable ,well in my case filled with anxiety.
I would recommend anyone who wants to read a spicy romance drama which focuses on such taboo and leaves us breathtaking on what's gonna happen now.
I can see why the rating of this dropped from 7.8 to now because every fan was angry with the ending, well who wouldn't be, in my case it took me two whole days to get over the fact that it has this ending. I mean the person(RUI) who was bringing romance to this romance drama was betrayed in the end. Everyone was enraged and started writing offensive tweets to Kei sensei. Rather than acting mature and respecting the writer's wish they were disrespecting her. I was also sad and angry about this but why would you want the writer to change her story just because you didn't like it, I know writers write for their fans and stuff but its their own free wish to do so. But in the end we have to respect the writer's wish and respect her work.
So lastly I would say the manga is enjoyable and good so don't just stop yourself from reading just because people are angry about its ending and have rated it low, read it and you won't regret it.

Domestic na Kanojo review
You’re probably wondering why I gave it an 7/10. That’s because in all honesty, Domestic Girlfriend wasn’t bad, it was pretty good! There are moments that made me genuinely feel, or just appreciate the story far beyond the seemingly “unrealistic” trashy setup. The only part I have to dislike is the ending, which I think we can all agree was way too fast and messy, and the fact that my pick for better girl didn’t win... (They really could’ve ended it before the ending arc and it would’ve been a very solid conclusion) The score I gave was reflecting on the entire series as a whole, and I think the whole other bunch of good chapters more than covers for the bad ending, and at the least, my score is mostly overlooking the ending events quite heavily. Ending aside, domestic girlfriend was actually good! The characters are believable, the world is obviously realistic, and the drama is often interesting. Natsu exploring his writing career wasn’t really present until the final episode of the anime, but in the manga it plays a huge role in the plot. I definitely enjoyed the connections Natsuo made with the other characters along the way (especially his mentor, THAT hit hard), and really, all of the side characters were fully fledged out and well written! I can’t think of a single character that was lackluster or boring in the entire story, and that’s saying a lot! It may look like a dumpster fire, but I assure you it’s much less rancid than it seems. Even if it was a dumpster fire, it was one I happily enjoyed sitting in while burning my ass away. Thanks Kei Sasuga, for this roller coaster of a manga!

Domestic na Kanojo review
Domestic Girlfriend will go down as one of the largest freefalls in quality of any series released over the past 20+ years.

Domestic Girlfriend began quite strong; somewhat decent romance, good character development, great ecchi scenes, and an overall big impact in the manga community, even with its topic of illicit romance between step-siblings. The manga even did well enough to spawn an anime adaptation (the choice was questionable, but it has one of the greatest opening songs in all of anime IMO). So what happened over the period of 250+ chapters that caused this great downfall? How did it end up deep in the dumps? What is it called when you ascend the level of a dumpster fire so massive? The answer to those questions lies within its writing.

The series had quite a bit of potential to be a decent romance story, but it spiraled into a horrendous car crash when the author decided to go into a different direction with the plot progression and forcing drama into any and every nook and cranny that it could fit in. The whole story is about a lead-skulled pussy magnet named Natsuo trying to choose whether to go for his teacher or with a random girl he met at a bender and had sex with afterwards, and then things got worse for him when he finds out that both of them are his new stepsisters. Hilarity ensued when more girls entered the game and as the situations became more wild and whackier for the main trio all thanks to the forced drama, it was so easy to predict what was going to happen, and just like what my parents think of me, I was still disappointed at the end result.

One moment, the characters would be in a heart-warming scenario where they’ve confessed their love and looks as if they’ll end up together, and bam! Truck-kun comes along and takes a hot steaming pile of shit on your enjoyment, eventually ruining your mood and enjoyment for this manga. Every plot twist was unnecessary and pointless and it only added fuel to the raging inferno that is a dumpster fire. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to have Natsuo stabbed by Hina’s psycho ex-boyfriend? Why the fuck did the author break off the wedding all because Rui felt bad about Hina after she got nearly killed by the reporter? I honestly cannot comprehend what train of though was going through the author’s head when she thought it was a good idea to unnecessarily stretch things out to milk that extra drama.

The only good character in this series is Masaki (the bartender). He is the characters' mentor and guidepost, and is the only one that is respectable and decently developed and isn’t forced into these ridiculous situations. The rest of the cast are a mixed bag that are either implemented poorly or are just dislikeable in general. You can blame the bad characters and their implementation on the poor writing. I won’t bother going into detail about them or else this review will be 20 times as long as it is. They're one of the worst aspects of this series.

The only silver lining of this dumpster fire is its artwork. That is its only redeeming quality, and I think we can collectively agree that the artwork is great. The character designs were nicely drawn and their expressions and any of the featured scenes (take the page of Hina in the wedding dress in the final chapter for example,) and you’ll see that a lot of time and effort was spent to make the artwork look really good. What I liked most was the uncensored scenes where we actually get full, uncensored tiddies, and yet for some reason the author decided to stop doing that, we got fewer and fewer nude and sex scenes until it dried up like the series’ potential.

Pardon my overuse of the word “dumpster fire” as that’s the only way I can describe it. This is the first time I 100% detest a series for its sheer and absolute shitness. Beside it having great artwork, it is still one of the worst series I’ve ever read. Unless you want some good fan service, read the first 50 or so chapters, other than that, never pick this manga up in your life. It’s a waste of time and it will make your day more ruined and your disappointment more immeasurable than the Food Reviewer's.

1.5/10. Don’t touch with a 200ft pole.
